    I don't think you're being unreasonable, but is your dad aware of the impact any of this has on your reservation? Maybe if you just tried talking to him and explained that it's easier on everyone if you book as a group, he would understand? Let him know how this impacts your reservation and pricing. I mean if he isn't aware of this, he just sees that they get to fly in a day earlier and it's $150 bucks cheaper. I might take that deal as well if I wasn't aware of any impact to you.

    If I were in her shoes I would not expect to be a part of the wedding. I would be fine as just a guest. And I agree with what others have said - your BM's should be close to you, not someone you just met.

    Congratulations on your weddding and thanks for sharing your review!! The pics are beautiful, and it looks like you had a fantastic time You may want to resize the first pic of the view from your room because it's huge, and the mods may remove it. Just a suggestion

    Love the whole review on your experience and the pics are great...thanks for sharing! Your dress is really beautiful and you really did get a great deal! Congrats!! And for the record, I get the whole trading dresses thing, but I think it's awful that brides were charging "finders fees". That's just wrong.

    I agree with what others have said...I would look into taking the diamonds out and have them put into a new band that fits you. I mean this is a ring that you are going to wear every day for the rest of your life...it should fit, be comfortable, and look good

    I don't know if charging $250 to set up some simple decorations that will probably only take someone 10 minutes to do is reasonable, but I don't want to have to worry about a family member or guest setting this up either. I'm just going to budget for the $250 and it's one less thing for me to worry about.

    Keep posting...you'll be able to open the attachments soon I kind of had an idea of what I wanted, described it to her, and then she sent over the pic I attached and we can modify it from there. But the pic she sent was really close to what I want, so I'm comfortable they'll turn out great. And yes, she does book up fast....even if you aren't 100% sure what you want, I would call and schedule with her really soon. When I talked to her a few weeks ago she was already booked thru the end of Feb next year!! Good luck with the dress shopping!! You'll have to let us know how it goes!!

    There are many threads on this, but I think the bottom line is that there is no set rule on what the "acceptable" time limit is. I think your guests will understand no matter what you decide (within reason...it's not like you want to do it 2 years later, lol). I've seen lots of brides comment about the timing of their AHR and they vary from a week after they return from the DW, up to a year later. There are many reasons for the dates including what works for their schedules, the weather (for an outside AHR), financial reasons, etc. So just do what works for you and it will all work out

    Oh no!!! I know accidents happen and I'm sure your FI will understand, but I can imagine how you feel. I know I'd be devastated The good thing is that you have the insurance on it and will be able to replace it.

    I thought of going to the Chicago one but I just don't think I have enough patience. I'd be one of those brides who snaps, gets in a fight and punches someone, and the next thing you know I'm on the 10 o'clock news. No thanks, lol. But from what I have read/heard - there are some fabulous deals to be had. Did you buy a dress Chris? And what time did you actually get in line or get to the store? Was it as crazy as everyone says? I heard that girls just start changing in and out of dresses in the middle of store....

    Yep, I am using real touch flowers and already placed my order with Angel's Accents. She is super easy to work with and has been prompt in answering all my emails/phone calls etc. Attached is similar to what I want. Still undecided on leaving the green in there, but def know that I want fuchsia and orange colors, and want to use orchids (which she is going to add), peonies, and calla lilies.
