  1. I went with a ribbon and hair flowers. The ribbon hanged down my back and blew in the wind... veil like, without all the veil!
  2. Hola Everyone!! Back from an AWESOME wedding / honeymoon. I will be working on a review and adding photos soon!

Any help would be great, I haven't gotten very far on my searches as they all seem to be in Cancun. Hi Vlynnw - Try contacting Playa Del Carmen Discounts - they have a 1-800 number that works in the US. You can have them quote you a driver. Also try: American Express and Amstar. Both have shuttle services.
  4. Hi everyone! Back from wedding and honeymoon...everything was AWESOME!!! I will write a review soon. Good Luck to everyone else!
  5. Hi ladies! I am leaving tomorrow for Dreams Tulum.... we are getting married Friday!!! We are both soooo excited! We will be using the resort photographer and will be sure to post pics and a review upon our return in the middle of the month.

They have 2 giant books of fabrics, in all sorts of colors for you to look through and choose from.
  7. L&A -I'm not going over the number included in the package either for dinner. We'll have the standard Gold menu. You have a little while till your wedding, so maybe other options will come up:) NicoRuskies - How excited are you that it's almost May!!! I leave in 13 days... YEAH!!!! What did you do for your welcome bags? I didn't do welcome bags or favors... my fiance is the baggage nazi! No extra bags for me!!! We charted a sailing/snorkeling cruise for everyone. The cruise is the day before the wedding so I'm using this as our "welcome / rehersal" dinner cruise. I figure trying to get everyone together for more than this could be a challenge!! What are you doing for decor? Anything extra for the ceremony? Anything for the reception? I LOVE hearing about everyone's ideas... better yet .. pictures! I can't wait to see pics from all of the May brides!

Anyone come up with anything yet? I am so stuck in this area. Hi L&A! When is your wedding scheduled? I found my inspiration for the reception dinner table by searching through reviews on this site. I looked at every review with photos! I'm going stres free... I am buying arrangements and petals through the resort. I don't want to haul everything down there. The only thing I am bringing is a box of 6 candle holders...the resort charges $18 per candle holder, a little steep. If I figure out how to attach the inspiration photo, I will.

I haven't been able to find any threads about brides planning something like this and recommended vendors... has anyone else seen anything along these lines or can advise me where to look? Thanks in advance! Hi! We booked a catamaran sailing/snorkeling tour with FatCat. They offer a few food choices and of course drinks! They are arranging for pick up/drop off for all of our guests. I emailed every sailing company I could find online and FatCat offered the best sailing for the best price. We chose the afternoon/sunset trip. It lasts for 4 hours.

Seriously i am starting to stress. I am soo indecisive and also don't have final numbers. Hopefully when i get home everything will start falling into place. Who is using the resort photographer? If not which are you going with, i heard a few of you are going with Samuel Luna. Hi - I'm going with the resort photographer. During our site visit last year they showed us photos they had dones from alot of other weddings and they looked really great. Maybe not as artsy as what an off site photographer will do, but I plan to photoshop some of the photos myself when I get home.

I contacted the salon manager Jana Switch: [email protected] My day is planned like this: 9 am - massage 11:30 - lunch 1pm - hair and makeup (this is supposed to take about 2 hours) we are doing the mimosas and chocolate covered fruit during this time ($10 per person) 5pm - wedding Somewhere in there I will have some photos... I'll know what time after we meet with the photographer. I would schedule your hair and makeup ASAP! When I first tried to last month, they told me they had no openings because other brides were already scheduled. I guess they brought on another stylist. I'm just glad I got my appointments!!
  12. Hello all.... less than 60 days away!! I finally got a hair appointment booked. Very releived. We also book a sailing/snorkeling excursion for all of our guests as a thank you. Can't wait!!

  14. Great question! I was thinking about tipping our wedding planner... a gift just takes up more room in the suitcase.
  15. I don't have a pi of the dress because I am scheduled to go in for one more fitting next month, then I pick up the finished dress in April. What did you decide on for centerpieces? How many guests do you think are coming? We have 16... relatively small group. Small enough for 1 long table. Have you filled out your planning docs? Have you booked your salon appointments? I tried to schedule my hair and make up and was told that they were already booked with other brides and they hope to hire another stylist soon.... STRESS!!!! This is my first wrench in the process. I REALLY hope they fix thi. I don't want to have to do my own hair!!!

I've never been to dreams, but from what I've seen online, and read, I thought I wanted to have it at the dolphin pool.... for some reason Aurora emailed me today and said "We would like to offer you the Relax Pool Terrace for your Reception dinner this location is more private and Elegant and perfect because you will have music please see the pictures in the attachment and confirm me that you want to get it." The relaxed pool seems very far away from the bar, and I don't know how well the lighting will be as our reception is at night... hmmm... I don't know what to do?!? The way it was explained to me is that there are going to be 3 or so weddings... everyone will need a reception dinner. They will ask you to choose a first and second choice and then the cordinators will work together to make something happen. My first choice is the dolphin pool. I like that it has colums and is on the beach. It has an elegant look to it. Lighting will be low, but you can see. There is not a lot of room for a dance floor here, and it will be a small hike to get to a bar that is open (the pool bar closes at night). My second choice is the Seaside grill. I have a small group (18 of us) and I don't mind having a dinner in a resteraunt with other diners... the seaside grill is open air and on the beach. The Relax pool is probably the largest area next to the beach. There would be room for dancing. The pool is lit up, a bar is close by. It is a pretty open area...you'll have the ocean as your backdrop here. This is a tie for my second choice! The pool is a big rectangle with concrete on all sides... you can set up dinner tables on one side and a dance area on the other. There's even room to put a few tables in the dance area for people to put their drinks on. There is a nice disco tech there... if you want to use the dance floor there. I hope this helps!! I think your real deciding will happen when the cordinator takes you on a tour and shows you in person where your options are. I am bringing a wedding day itineray to pass to my guests with blanks spaces... so I can fill in the final choices when I'm there.

I sent about 5 emails out to various sailing companies asking for quotes... I can share if you want.
  18. We filled out our Wedding Planning documents this week...yeah!! It is sooo hard to believe we are 90 days away!!! I finally found an inspiration photo for our reception decor, which takes a lot of stress away. I am going for my first dress fitting this week and my fiance is ordering his suit today. I am getting WAY EXCITED!!!! How are everyone elses plans coming?
  19. Gorgeous dress!!! I love how you went with a full bottom. A lot of peoples tries to tell me that I should go with a "beach" dress....whatever that is! You are going to get some awesome photos wearing that dress!!! I chose a similare design to yours. I go in for a fitting in 2 weeks.
  20. I am really glad to hear this. It must have been just one of those rare occurances that just happened to happen when we were there. To me, it wasn't a big deal. Like I said, the kids were behaving. My fiance almost decided to look for another resort over it (a bit of an over reaction!). Either way, I'm glad we are still going Dreams!!!
