KittenHeart- At Hidden Worlds they have 2 zip lines.... a long that you have to climb up to a platform to get to and a zip line that splashes down into a cenote. This one was really fun!! Hidden Worlds also has a jugle canopy cycle.... you get onto a bike ontraption attached to a cable and pedal over the jungle. This was very peaceful. The staff at this place really made the excursion wonderful as well. Which resort are getting married at?? Amy

Queena - A few excursions I have enjoyed: 1. Hidden Worlds- zip lines and norkeling in cenotes. This was #1 on trip advisor. 2. Swim with dolphins - Dreams Cancun has a great program!! 3. Tulum ruin - a close way to see the Mayan culture 4. Chichen Itza - - It's a full day excusion but really awesome! I have found a few others, like sailing excusions, by researching on trip advisor. Happy planning!!

I am going 6.5 months in advance.... you are offered a 100% refund on your deposit if cancelled at least 6 months out. I have never been to this resort o if I go and hate it, I'm not out my $500. Also, I have the option of hopping in a taxi to check out other places. I know that I won't really be able to plan all the details... like Malisa said, things do happen more last minute in Mexico. I just want to verify I made a good choice of resort.

Jayanreneewed, Congrats!!! I am to be married at Dreams Tulum on May7, 2010. I am leaving on October 1 to do a site visit. I have an appointment scheduled with our cordinator, Aurora, on October 2. My goal is to go over locations for the ceremony and reception, look at flower and cake options and some decor options. I also just want to get a general feel for the place, as I have never been there. I hear that alot of details end up being decided last minute so I don't expect to walk away with everything set in stone. Doing this site visit certainly makes me feel better about everything though. I'll let you know how it goes if you want.... Amy

Congrat on both the aniversary and the upoming wedding!!

Smiles, I was at Dreams Cancun for their dolphin experience last year... the beach there is very narrow but did not seem to have any rocks. It looked like you could walk pretty far in either direction. They made a little "private" beach within the confines of the resort next to the dolphin pool and this seemed to be the "place to be". But she was great at responding to my communications though, and put me in touch with Javier, the head concierge, when I asked for his email. She might be getting better, as I said, I think she just started there less than 6 months ago... Have you had any problems with getting a hold of her? Chantal So far Aurora has been pretty good at getting back to me. The only isue I've had was negotiating the date that we have to show up. We are doing the Symbolic wedding and she wanted us to show up Monday for a Friday wedding. We have since worked that out. Other than that, she has been pretty helpful. I'll know more when I meet her on October 2. Amy

Like you, I am waiting for a total head count before saying anything to anyone to make sure it is in the budget. What is your plan b? On a different note.... Aurora responded to my request in under 24 hours to schedule a date and time for a meeting with her on October 2! I still haven't figured out if she is a coordinator or not.... does anyone know for sure?? Amy

MnM2- We have not picked an operator yet. We are still googling different companies and pricing it all out. We are right on the cusp of 20 people.... over 20 and it starts getting pretting expensive! So far, I've found either a sunset 2 hour cruise or a 4 hour cruise that stops for snorkeling. I have not priced out a transport service yet, but I want that to be part of our "thank you" cruise as well. Have you looked into other excursion option? Have you found anything interesting? I've done a lot of the excursions in Mexico and most take at least a half a day. I'm still open to finding something cool that doesn't take my guests away from the beach too long. What day are you arriving? Have you booked your room? We just booked an ocean front and I'm so excited!!!! -Amy

Hi Starr - I'm a May 2010 bride too! We are doing the Ultimate pakage on Friday May 7 at 5pm. I am planning a site visit to the resort on October 1 to go over locations and details. So far all of my corespondance has been with Aurora....but I'm not sure if she is a WC or an assistant. So far, we have the date, the room, the honeymoon booked and the dress. Still working out everything else. How are your plans coming? Amy
