  1. I'm definitely interested! Are you ordering from the same site the other ladies ordered from with the past pashmina order?
  2. Hey ladies! I searched for threads, but could not find any on this topic. I was just wondering what your parents are wearing/or wore to your beach destination wedding? My BM's are wearing chiffon dresses, but they still are formal and we are having the groomsmen wear khaki pants, a white button down and a turquoise tie. My dress is the jean dress by maggie sottero, so it's more fancy and my fiance is wearing white dress pants, white dress shoes, a turquoise long sleeve button down and a white tie...and possibly a white suit coat, depending how warm it is. My parents asked what they should wear....i told my dad khaki pants and a white polo is fine and a casual tropical dress for my mom, but should they be more formal since the rest of my wedding party is more formal, or doesnt it matter? Just wanted to get some opinions! Thanks ladies!
  3. thank you!!!! just wanted to get an idea...appreciate your help!!!!
  4. i know you just answered a question on tipping, so thought i'd ask.....i think we are going to have the steel drum band for the ceremony....what do you think is fair to tip them...and do you tip per group or per person? Thanks !!!!!
  5. Hi Everyone! I bought some pier 1 beach mats from a fellow BDW bride. I need a few more and was wondering if anyone else has these beach mats that I could buy? If you have some can you let me know how many and how much you want for each of them? Thanks so much! Appreciate it!
  6. We're having a luau style at home reception because it is more laid back and fun. Since we're doing the luau style, we've decided to have empty candy bags at each seat. We are going to set up a candy buffet, but because an actual candy buffet can get pretty expensive with the glass jars.....we are using sandbuckets( new ones, obviously) with shovels.good luck!
  7. I get there on the 12th! Wow, our dates really are close! When are you leaving?
  8. I didn't get married yet, but my photographer is Brian Nejedly. I will see if i can post the rate info in my reply. The packages 2009 are rates for brian nejedly. I am getting my rate off this page since i contacted him when it was 2009. I'm not sure if he changed the prices at all. But he seems really reasonable and he responds to all of your questions really quickly! he also made my resort suggestion, so he's very helpful. Don't know much about the other photographer. RiU said this was their photographer, i believe its michael..not sure though. The weddings 2010 are their package prices.... not brian nejedly's. other ladies have posted about him. I know if you bring a photographer in you have to pay for a day pass. you might even have to pay for the one riu suggested because it is a company outside the RIU, but since its the one they suggested you may not have to pay for a day pass . I would ask. Hope this helps! Good luck! packages2009.pdf weddings_2010.doc
  9. welcome to the bdw forum. Congrats!
  10. Hey ladies! I know a lot of you are planing a sand ceremony at your destination wedding, so I thought I'd share where I found mine. I bought my colored sand at oriental trading company. Copy and paste the link below. If it does not work just go to Party supplies, crafts, party decorations, toys: Oriental Trading and search for craft sand. They do have options to buy a bunch at once, but at the bottom they have the separate ones. I think the containers are a good size (22 oz, i believe). Definitely enough for the sand ceremony. Craft Sand They have royal blue, red, white, green, yellow, light pink, light blue sand for $1.99. I think the light orange is $2.49. This seems to be the best price I found and they have a variety of colors.
  11. your pictures look gorgeous! I'm sorry you are being stressed out by your photographer. That should never happen. It sounds like you were being honest in your review and in my humble opinion you did not give her a bad review at all, in fact you recommended her. I think her poor attitude is negative, but your review wasn't negative at all. It's good to be honest. Good luck and hopefully she stops those nasty emails! That just is not acceptable of a vendor to do.
  12. Thanks so much for sharing these! That was so nice of you
  13. Wow, I didn't realize that process took so long. I wonder why. I'm bookmarking this page incase this happens to us this summer. Thanks for sharing ladies.
  14. i think it's the thought that counts. what you did for them sounds like enough. Especially, since you financially can't afford to do anything else. I agree if you add anything a good idea would be a cheap necklace or pedi's. But if you can't financially afford to do that then don't dig yourself in a hole. I know this wedding stuff gets to be expensive! Good luck dear
  15. where did you get the travel mugs? the bags look great! good job!
