I'm doing a candy buffet as well, but our AHR is a luau style reception. So, instead of buying the expensive candy jars, we decided to get sand buckets with shovels (They have really cute ones at the dollar store). We bought 7 or 8 different sand buckets. I didn't order the candy yet, but I'm planning on ordering from metrocandy.com They seem to have the best prices that I could find! We're going to put gummy sharks, swedish fish aqua life, gold coins for chocolate, beachy candies....

RMB ladies...question about vendor fee
clfaidl2 replied to clfaidl2's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
Ohhh okay! Well I've read a lot of great things about Chandlyn! Thanks for letting me know Maureen! I considered the RIU Ocho Rios, but decided on montego bay because of the short distance from the airport. -

OOT Bags - Out of Control!
clfaidl2 replied to Girasole's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Girasole...where are you from in PA? I'm moving back to PA in may! I totally understand, FI is so irritated that i keep adding stuff to the OOT bags, but I can't help myself either. I've decided i'm not adding anything to them now, though. I'm forcing myself to give them to our guests early, so I am not allowed to add anything else! Plus I won't have to worry about extra weight and space on the plane, as well as no custom issues! -
Thanks ladies! Also, wanted to share! If you have bridesmaids....I found poems for bridesmaids (asking/and thank you for being my bridesmaid type of poems) that i'm going to put in a thank you for being my bridesmaid card. I put a thread with a link under a different category, I think etiquette, traditions, and to dos. I will post it here as well. They also have poems on here for father of the bride/mother of the bride, etc... Hops this is helpful to some of you: Poem Overview

We did a pocketfold invitation from cards and pockets. Make sure you check for cards and pockets sales (codes) if you use that company. If you add cards and pockets as a friend on facebook, sometimes they list their sales (code). You might find a better deal at another paper place, but when we were looking, these were the best for the price. We bought the invitation pocketfold kit and included a passport (kind of like the passport invite) insert in the pocket and a rsvp card and stamped envelope. It worked out perfect! Good luck!

I forgot to mention, if you do decide to purchase these, and i'm only posting this because I was kind of wondering myself.......the lady is from AU, so the price is listed in AU, but when you pay paypal actually converts it to US currency, so in US dollars its actually a few dollars less than the AU quote, and it's taken care of for you. I wasn't sure if I was going to order them since it is from AU, but it was easy and all worked out! Also, if you decide to get these....make sure you tell her if you are ordering more than one. I ordered 5, and she combines shipping. You only have to pay the cost of shipping for one item for up to 10 transfers! Don't want you to get a bad deal! I'm so excited to get mine! I'll have to post pictures as soon as I get them and make them! I'm going to put mine on white tank tops and tie a little pink bow on the side of one tank sleeve. Do you ladies think this will look okay? Or do you think it would be cheesy if I were to tie that little pink bow on there?

anyone know if an alternative to maracas?
clfaidl2 posted a topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
Question for all jamaican brides...... I think the maraca idea is super cute for weddings in mexico, but I don't feel it goes with a jamaican theme. Does anyone have any alternative ideas for a Jamaica wedding instead of the maracas, that would not be too costly? Thanks in advance! -

Sister in law help!
clfaidl2 replied to jo&delo2010's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I'm sorry you are dealing with this stress. It sounds like the issues in the past with previous statements and things she did caused some difficult situations. Just try to remember it's your day! Don't let anything spoil it. If anything happens, take it with a grain of salt. Don't do anything you will regret....remember she will be family! That being said.....I don't think you should be mad at her for getting pregnant again. That was a hard thing she had to go through in dealing with the miscarriage. It is her life after all and i think you should be happy to soon be an aunt. Good luck with everything and I hope everything goes perfectly with the wedding! -
assembly of OOT
clfaidl2 replied to simplnsweet's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
We're going to try to give everyone their bags before the trip along with the prewedding brochure. Just thought it would save on weight for traveling, be less stressful, and they would already know what is in them prior to the trip (like bandaids, sunblock, hand sanitizer, etc) and not bring double with them. The only problem is the ppl that live kind of far away...may have to take those, but going to try to get rid of most of them before the trip! -
Has anyone got any information about this.....i'm going to email sherika with other questions, maybe i should ask her about this?...

clfaidl2 replied to mykidsmomtx's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
i dont think we are going to do place cards either or have designated tables. If you are thinking about doing place cards....i saw cheap blue and pink ones in tjmaxx and ross. I believe its 40 for 1.99. If any of you ladies need me to pm me, and i can see if there are any left at my store. They also had 40 blank ceremony programs for 9.99 in blue and pink.....not sure whats left now. -
Help finding luggae tags--please!!!
clfaidl2 replied to Cheri's topic in Buy / Sell / Trade Archives
I saw those in Michaels.... they are 2 dollars a piece, if anyone is wondering (the metallic gold and sliver ones and initial tags). I also found these during my search on ebay (buy it now) Luggage Tags Neon asst, 50 for $50.00 + shipping - eBay (item 350156411628 end time Mar-17-10 09:00:22 PDT) If you click on their store (Luggage Tag Name Tag Crafts Leather) they have different colors, or multi colors, and different amounts. Obviously the more you buy from them, the better deal you get. Hope this helps! -
Just ordered really cute (bridesmaid/bride/maid of honor) iron on transfers. I was going to initially do the rhinestone shirts for my girls, but found these and thought they were super cute and different. The lady I ordered them off of is super nice and willing to work with you. I bugged her with a couple of questions and she was quick to respond, pleasant, and very helpful. You do have to specify if you want Maid/Matron of Honour, or Honor. Also, I think they only work on light/white shirts. Here is a link if anyone is interested: Bridesmaid iron on Wedding T-shirt transfers - eBay (item 130368040768 end time Mar-19-10 23:00:49 PDT) I'm going to attempt to post a picture i took of the item....hopefully it works.
