I just don't want guests to be able to see the reception setup during the ceremony and when I talked to Melani, she made it seem like it would be setup right behind us. I just want all the attention on me and not people staring off to see what everything else looks like, lol. I know I am probably being EXTRA...but I would hate to have to yell at someone for taking pictures of the reception while I am walking down the aisle, lol.
  2. I checked the pictures out on theknot Chelymo...NICE! Still doesn't beat the gazebo for me though, but I can imagine having the reception on the beach now instead of inside in the banquet room Thanks for sharing this find!!!

He really personalizes the ceremony to cater to the couple. We were able to add our own readings and have some special guests do them instead of him. We are also doing the sand ceremony immediately after the traditional one. He is very down to earth and a pleasure to work with. Don't cut corners in your budget with this one...reserve the pastor!!!! Misty
  5. The best pictures are the one's that are posted in the link in my previous post. I know that Chelymo stated this was staged for their brochure, but it still shows me what they are capable of. I am using the stone gazebo because I think it is absolutely gorgeous. I am still going back and forth between a beach reception or banquet room. I know I don't want everything in the same place. I don't want to see the set up of the reception from the wedding, I want to be surprised when I see the setup.

  7. Hey ladies: Here is a great link I found on FB from a group I joined. These pictures are from January 2009 and are really good. They show the rooms, restaurants, and a wedding that was taking place at the stone gazebo. Hope this helps! LIVE FROM Dreams Palm Beach... pictures, photos, and videos, from friends & fun on webshots

  11. Hey Ladies!!! I am also an August 2010 Bride. My date is actually 8.9.10, so I am very excited. We are getting married at Dreams Palm Beach, Punta Cana Dominican Republic. So far we have booked our wedding date, reserved the location, reserved our pastor, finalized the ceremony and programs. I also need to start my save the dates and work on our monogram, so I will definitely be checking out Allurements by Rebecca! Happy planning you guys and I look forward to sharing ideas with all of you. Yay August 2010 Brides!!!!! Misty
  12. I'm sorry I beg to differ on the situation. We opted for the religious symbolic ceremony with a sand ceremony performed by Pastor Rick York, due to the fact that we are Christians and want that to be reflected in our wedding, as well as having everything made legal here takes away the pain of translation of documents and I will have no worries about whether my marriage is legal or not. And no time frames that I have to worry about, ex..how long the translation process is. Follow your heart, we are still going to celebrate our anniversary's on the day we exchange vows in PC in front of friends and family, but just the security of knowing that my day there won't be messed up was enough to help us make our decision. Good Luck Taratoons!!!!

People stopped on the beach to hear his sermon. Complete strangers asked us if he was a family member or friend b/c it was so personal. USE HIM. DO NOT USE the wedding coordinator available at your resort. You will be disapointed as will your guests. Feel free to fire off more questions- I love this man! Hey Kandy: I am getting married at Dreams Palm Beach in Aug 2010, can you contact me directly about your experience. My email is [email protected]. Thanks! I am also using Pastor York, he sent me a wonderful sample ceremony. Misty

  20. Hey bhrd83, I am also getting married in August at one of the Dreams resorts in Punta Cana. When is your wedding date? Taratoons has been amazing with sending pictures and answering all my questions. Good luck to all the ladies with your final choice!
  21. Hey Chelymo: I have attached the Menu Options for 2009 from Dreams, it has the additional price per person listed under each option. Hope this helps! Pynklemonade Wedding menus 2009 (1).pdf
  22. Thanks all for such a warm welcoming I am really excited and spent the entire night (literally) reading posts and gathering ideas. Thanks so much again!
  23. Hey Ladies! I am new to the forum and also planning a wedding in DR for August 2010 and I am trying to decide in Dream Palm Beach would be the ideal location for me and my hubby. We are only expecting between 30-40 guests (hopefully) as we are trying to have a small chic inspired ceremony. Also, does anyone know much about hurricane season in DR? Thank you so much in advance. Congrats to all the ladies getting married in DR
