  1. JENISE!!! Congrats Mami! We are going to have to catch up! I wasn't able to see the pics from Micheal's FB, so if you guys have the link, please send it to me :) I'm glad you had a great experience! It was so much more easier once you get there. I think most of us on the forum think way too hard about it all before you get there, and then you get there and you end up being like, "damn, I didn't need all this stuff, and so on". I do plan on finishing up my review for you ladies, just bear with me and in the meantime, feel free to shoot me an email.

Oh and by the way, EMAIL HAS CHANGED TO [email protected]!!

  2. Hey Eliana!

I must say the Beach Setup is not private at all and I personally wouldn't recommend it. It's even a little seaweed and stuff that drifts up on the beach. I didn't see anyone use it for a reception, but they do have private dinner setup on the beach for couples and I'm sure that is the same area that would probably have the wedding receptions at.

Just wondering as we might consider this option..   Thank you!

  3. We brought our own photographer and it was no problem at all. Since she stayed at the Resort, we just told them we wouldn't need photography services. If you are hiring someone to come only for the day though, you will need to pay a day pass for them.

And they are not willing to substitute anything in the packages.

We are bringing our own photographer with us for our wedding.  Has anybody been penalized for doing so and not using the resort photographer?  Our wedding package we chose includes 36 professional photos, are we able to exchange that for something else?

    Thanks!

Thanks Ladies!!! I had the time of my life in those pictures, even though I did have a split second where I told her I couldn't get the dress wet the next morning, lol. But then I was like whatever, I came this far, I am going to go all out!!!

    Hi Ladies..

I have been so busy planning other wedding things - reception, gifts etc...that I completely forgot about the actual ceremony.

I am getting married at DPC on Nov 19, 2010.  I am just wondering what the actual ceremony looks like.  We are getting married at 3pm, and signing the paperwork later with the judge.

Is there a little speech that the WC says, goes through, are there vows - are they provided by the resort or some to pick from or do we right our own.

I also wanted to do a sand ceremony - do I have to bring the vases and the sand or does the resort have the ability to provide this.

If anyone is able to provide any info that would be wonderful.

    Thanks, Carol

Hey Carol, we just got married there last Monday and we had the symbolic ceremony so we had my brother in law actually officiate the ceremony. We wrote our own vows, had 2 readings by my sister and best man.

I will tell you at 3pm it is going to be very HOT! They don't even allow the kids in the pool between 12-2 at the Explorer's club because they say that is when the heat is the more severe. We got married at 5:30 and my husband was still sweating.

I forgot my sand ceremony vases and the WC did have vases and sand that we used. I'll try to post some pictures up of the actual ceremony when I get a chance. I have so many non-pro pictures to go through since we saved all of our guests pictures on our laptop while we were there, so I need to really sit down and sort them out and find good ones. Good luck planning :)

  6. LADIES! I AM BACK!!! I have to catch up on all that's going on, on the forum, but wanted to let you all know that we returned safely and boy do I have so much to tell you all! If you any questions in the meantime, feel free to post here or shoot me an email at [email protected]. I have so many pictures and will do my best to send some good pictures to those who want to see certain parts of the Resort.

Also if your my friend on Facebook, you will see my photographer posted 2 sneak peeks up yesterday of the Trash the Dress session! She said we ROCKED it, but I couldn't have done it without her! She was great and by far the best choice we made in having her there!

I'll be working on a review for you new girls and will try to post by the end of next week!

  7. Morning Ladies! It's been a busy couple of days for me, so to bring you all up to speed, we legally got married this past Sunday, it was very nice and I cried like 2 tears like a big baby and this wasn't even the wedding, lol.

Update from the resort: Yessica finally emailed me back after my wedding coordinator/sister emailed her and cc'd the general manager and director of sales on the email. She stated that she had booked the Hitmitsu Terrace for us (which I am still pissed about) and may change to the El Patio after seeing some recent pictures of it. She also said she understands how frustrating it can be to plan a destination wedding and not get timely responses from the Resort so she was going to call me on Saturday morning to answer any questions that I may have. So.....Saturday & Sunday go by with no call from her. At this point, I will be there in 2 days so I do plan on negotiating with them for to either cover the costs of my centerpeices or throw in the cocktail hour for free since we are going with the free package and just adding on.

I'll let you girls know how everything turns out, bc my first stop is the wedding office when I get there, I am not waiting for a damn letter to tell me when to show up. I have waited long enough for responses and I am tired of broken promises and questions not being answered.

SN: I'm still very excited about the wedding and I KNOW it will turn out awesome!

  8. Your bach party sounds like it's going to be AWESOME! Just remember, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas...except for Herpes, that ish will come back with you! haha! Sorry I had to go there, that's my favorite line from the movie, Hangover :)

I am working on invitations and wedding favors right now. And by working on I just mean that I need to place the orders. Haha I am far from a DIYer. We are sending luggage tags and embroidered hats to our guests as the wedding favors before going. That way we dont have to lug anything down there. I just can't wait to go on this vacation!!!

Also, my bachelorette party is next weekend in Vegas!!!!! and next weekend is my 100 days to the wedding mark! We are doing the bach. party early because a few girls who have kids wanted to do it before school starts. My girlfriends planned everything and I have no idea what they have in store for me. I am soooo looking forward to a fun weekend away!!!

  9. Hey Ladies! Yes it looks like I am up next with no contact from Yessica since the email she sent me 2 weeks ago saying, "I  remain at your service". So a little stressed, but all in all, I'm just trying to keep it together and pray that I don't have to GO OFF once I get there, lol.

I still need to grab some earrings and the little toiletries but I am ready to go. Today is my last day at work and we are flying out on Thursday so I have a few days to do some last minute running around. I pick my dress up from the steaming appointment tomorrow and I'm taking my ring in to make sure all the stones are tightened, cleaned, and perfect for pictures. I can't believe my day is finally here :) I will be sure to post pics and do a review for you girls, but I think by now you guys are reviewed out, LOL. If you have any specific things you really want me to get information on or bring back (dreams brochures, maps), let me know.

Eliana, I'm glad you had a good shoot for your boudoir pics! Can't wait to see sneak pics. That might be the one thing I regret not doing before the wedding, but it's gonna make one hell of a Christmas gift, lol!

Girls, I have followed what Pynklemoade did almost to a T and I am waiting on my business cards to still be delivered but let me tell you- I just got the luggage tags last night and OMG the quality is UNBELIEVABLE!! You are AWESOME for helping me with this! I was SO impressed at the high quailty, I called everyone to tell them! lol Thank you!!!!
Aww your welcome hun! I, too, was impressed with the quality for the price. And assembly won't be as hard as you think, just slide the business cards right in and put the clear slider right on top. It was the ribbon part that took some work, lol. Just gather all your bridesmaids together and make it a project, that will save you tons of time!!!

I'm glad you liked the idea and please post pics so I can see how they turn out!
