Trash the dress - need help!
inspiredfyre replied to vmelendez319's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Go for it! if it's a tradition that you must keep your gown, or if it was really darn expensive and you want to resell, I say get a second dress! You CAN NOT be stressed or worried about such a carefree, fun photo shoot, so buy an inexpensive, or used dress, I know I wish I had for my second, third, or fourth gown (i obviously had issues!) It will be so wonderful, and fun, so my advice is to also get something that won't be so cumbersome when wearing it while wet, not sure what you currently have! -
welcome here and congrats!

Beach wedding shoes
inspiredfyre replied to purpleshells's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I went barefoot, but took sandals in case! These are cute new sandals from target that would be so cute for the bridal party, too!! Good luck in finding your selection! Women's Xhilaration Tamia Cork Jelly Sandals - Silver : Target -
I have a horrible Maggie Sottero knockoff that i bought from inweddingdress.com, so I do NOT recommend that site!! I mean, I wasn't expecting perfection by any means, but I really was disappointing with the ruching. The stitching wasn't even finished!! It had vertical stitching over the horizontal ruching to keep it in place, and it was so noticeable! ugh, just bad. It's just a $300 lump in my closet, but don't get discouraged. I've heard from a few ladies on here that they had good experiences, one of which I heard was lightinthebox.com.

Congrats! You will NOT be disappointed of SMB, i assure you!! I got married there in November, and had an amazing time! It was just me and fi, so some of the details I can't really offer, but for sure the location, and the resort itself is top notch!! I'm happy for you, i want to go back so bad!

Definitely go for Riviera Maya!! Being from Orlando, I also considered doing a dw perhaps in sarasota, or somewhere on the beach. After seeing how everything racked up, I could get a lot more for my money in Mexico!! I was very pleased with how everything came out, and I feel that there is so much to do in the area, and so many beautiful places for photos!!! I went to Secrets Maroma Beach, and highly recommend it to anyone!! Not to mention, everything is all inclusive, so you really don't have to worry about much, if you go to the Riviera Maya part of the forum, you'll find lots of info!! Best of luck!!

Big Arms, Back Fat...and other grief
inspiredfyre replied to isaidyes's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
You will be fine I'm sure, you just have to really stick to a plan of strict diet and exercise!! The same exact thing happened before my wedding. I actually got my dress a size smaller, and even though the dress finally fit, I wasn't able to lose enough weight to look great, but it was because I was already over the months of dieting, and going into my "i'm going to just enjoy the few weeks before we go away, it's essentially my wedding..." trust me!! You'll feel better if you can motivate yourself, and try to explain to your other half that it's almost like trying to help someone quit smoking!! They have to be your support system, or it'll be that much more temptation, so I'm rooting for you to resist McD's!! I KNOW you can do it, and best of luck!! -

My dad won't come to our DW....
inspiredfyre replied to Fivecents's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I know that must be so upsetting, especially if you wanted him to walk you down the aisle. I would definitely urge you to gently talk to him to find out why he's not interested, or can't go, and see if you guys can't come to an agreement, especially knowing how important this is for you! There are many reasons why people are afraid, or hesitant for international travel. Perhaps having an AHR at home with him and everyone else who may not be able to go will be just the thing to bring everyone back together for special memories of your big day!! best of luck getting it all sorted out, I hope it works out for the better!! -
You are awesome for posting this!! I'm up late because I just got out of work, and am checking unread threads! However, pre wedding, i remember countless hours spent all night long on here, just researching everything you can imagine, from flowers, veils to shoes, to photos, to luggage questions, lol!! This site is awesome, and the everyone is so helpful!

Well first off, what else can I say that the photos don't already? Me and my hubby had a great experience with Pierre, and his assistant Juan Novelo. Not only was he very professional from the beginning, but he blew our expectations in every sense of the word when we finally got our pictures yesterday!! I hope you enjoy them, and I just can't say enough about how much I recommend him for anyone coming out to this area!! Affordable, and worth every penny, Pierre is a true artist, you will know what I'm talking about when you meet him. He knows what vision he has, and if you're willing to trust him, the pictures will do all the talking. Feel free to contact me with any questions you had regarding anything at all. Just to give you a little picture, when we arrived to Riviera Maya, it was at the start of Hurricane Ida, and so the weather was less than stellar. The weather reports said it was rain the entire week. Not paying attention to the weather, Pierre contacted us to let us know that he could contact us until a day that was better weather, but it wasn't necessary. He was flexible, and I thought that was great! So thursday, one day before we left, we went to a very small cenote, not far from Xel ha. I thought it was ten times more gorgeous. Secluded, private, and just magical, I thought it was amazing! Waiting for the right lighting, we went to several different areas to take pictures around the cenote, on land, in water, and underwater ( not easy!) and it was a fun and good experience. His assistant Juan picked us up from our resort, which he was very pleasant and accommodating. He also had two female assistants there (or something of that nature) at that time, and they were also helpful, offering snacks and even something I could change under! I thought everything was thoughtfully played out, and more than I had ever expected. I'd definitely like to thank him and his assistant Juan for a wonderful experience we will always cherish!! Here are our pictures for you to experience! He truly is an artist that I hope you will choose him for your ttd session!! He isn't as familiar with this site, and that is why you may not have heard much from him, but I assure you that as I researched many different photographers, he is phenomenal! trash the dress pictures by inspiredfyre - Photobucket his website Pierre Visual Studio - Wedding Photography- Mayan Riviera- Playa del Carmen - Home - Wedding Photographer

We totally ordered my husbands tungsten band there, and he loves it, it's great quality!! Go for it bdw'ers, you won't be disappointed! I also agree that it is a great deal less expensive, but still great quality. These things are basically indestructible!

That's exactly what we did, and I promise that getting legally married doesn't retract from the "specialness" you are to feel on your "big" special ceremony. I was worried for a long time, but it worked out perfect, because it kinda left less steps to deal with once we actually got to mexico. Anyways, whatever you decide will be just fine, and will work out great I'm sure!!

Mandiland, about the fees to bring people in...I have read that you had to pay fees for that, as well as what Semistar is saying, but no, I didn't!! no one had to pay any fees, that was wonderful!! We alerted them ahead of time that she was coming in, so they could alert us, so I too feel bad Semistar kept getting the short end of the stick it seems!! You are the nicest bride, esp with your exp!! What it sounds like to me, is that they had originally implemented certain things, and then perhaps took it away afterwards, or perhaps I was just lucky! Who knows!! Cecilia is so great, I have yet to write a thread and post pics, but if you booked her, you'll love her!!

Is it just me, or is being a newlywed the most blissful feeling there is?! Perhaps it is all the stress being lifted after you get to enjoy the fruits of your labor for the wedding, but wow, nothing seems to matter the same way. My point of view on a lot of things have not only changed, but I am really content again. Work doesn't bother me like it used to, I don't feel the pressures of having to lose weight in a small amount of time (which basically means I can cheat on my diet without feeling unbearable guilt!) and just grateful I have this wonderful, amazing person I am going to grow old with!!! I am loving it, and I actually FEEL like a wife!! It's so awesome! Even after our "legal day" i was a little bummed because it didn't feel very different than being engaged, but now....it's a whole different story. I can't wait until he gets home (like right now, because when he is here, I drop whatever I'm doing to spend time with him!) and I get excited and giddy to what the future holds!! To all the newlyweds, and brides to be, congratulations!!! You are in a wonderful position that not everyone can say they are lucky enough to have!!!
