It happened to me the other day and it totally got to me. I was just wondering if anyone else felt like that or am I just the crazy one?! I know what you mean. I don't "feel" like a fat person in my day to day life.. but then I walk by a mirror or see my reflection in a glass window or something and get totally grossed out with myself.... It's like I am in "denial" a lot and then it hits me, I am fat. I get depressed and start to hate myself and usually sabotage my diet. I have been struggling with this most of my life... I am on a diet now and I have been able to squelch that "inner hater" and stick to it. I hope I can do it permanently. In the past I get almost to my goal and then "bam".. I mess it up for myself..... I am really trying to make changes so that it doesn't happen this time.....

July 2010 brides!

me!! july 15th! -
So I just ordered my first pair of MBT shoes after reading some good things about them. They feel a bit weird and wobbly on.... and they are not the best looking shoes, but I kind of think they might be on to something... does anyone own and wear MBT's and have you seen any results?? Here's more info on their website: MBT Shoes - Home of the Anti shoe In general they are kind of expensive... I got mine on endless.com on sale.. they sell them at zappos and amazon too... I think they are similar to the Reebok easytone but I think the easy tone uses different technology.. so I wanted to try the original MBT.... I'll let you know what I think after wearing them on a few walks...

For the high GI days I do things like: Chicken breast + one of the following: a) sweet corn (frozen).. YUM. I add a smidge of butter and salt. pasta with red sauce (I use one that has only 2.5g fat -- it has a little fat but not much. It's trader joes marinara, or barilla tomato/basil) c) brown rice with curry sauce (trader joes.. very low fat and delicious) d) black beans or fat free refried beans -- even though they are low GI I often use beans on high gi days. e) cous cous f) plantains (goya, found in freezer section of store) you could also just eat the lean protein as the meal and then have a banana for dessert...

Do not buy from lulucarmen - warning!!!!!

I have also received a 'pending' refund through paypal. I will post once it officially gets refunded to me. Call me cynical, and I do appreciate her coming back here to set it right, however, I wonder if my letting her know that the police were getting involved had something to do with it. Throughout this, she did not respond to me, or paypal for weeks.... She even loses the paypal claim to both me and stamperamma and paypal tries unsuccessfully to recover the money in both cases. I send an email about how the police in her town have been notified and miraculously she reappears and refunds start happening... -

I had to file a stop payment with my bank so we could resolve the issue before they grabbed the $$. Long story short, I'm pretty sure every person on Paypal has to have either a credit card or bank account associated with their account that they use to cover their paypal charges. It amazes me that they haven't done that yet. Have you talked to an actual person yet or just over the computer? Honestly, Paypal really sucks at resolving issues so I wish you the best of luck. oh well then lulucarmen must just have no money in her account for them to take.... too bad it didn't make her account go negative so she'd have to pay overdraft fees.... -

If you paid with a credit card, you can certainly do a chargeback. Present all the facts from your paypal case (and that you "won") and they will likely give you a refund. I believe the claim does stay open in case they ever recover funds from her but I'm not holding my breath. I just sent her this email.. I'm so flippin mad: "Hi, By now you know that we realize you are a scammer. We know you have scammed 3 people on BDW. I have "won" my paypal claim against you but alas, as you are a deadbeat, they cannot recover the $ so I am likely out the money. One of the girls you scammed from BDW has filed charges with the police in your town so you will hopefully soon be arrested for internet fraud. Was it really worth it? " -

Wedding Dress Alterations - RANT!!
finzup replied to Jocy's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
wow, $630 is out of control! I just ordered my dress and I got free alterations (basic) because the bridesmaids are getting their dresses there too... I didn't know how good I have it. I will agree with everyone here that you need to find a new seamstress. Maybe there's a way to look up reviews of other seamstresses in your area? I would definitely NOT deal with the snarkyness from this seamstress. She does not deserve your business.... -

Well, for me, I try to weigh (no pun intended..lol) the pros and cons. Sure this ice cream might be good now, but I try to fast forward myself to my wedding day, when I think of how much better I would look/feel if I hadn't cheated. I also really focus on my cheat days. It's kind of a running joke at work - whenever I see someone eating something yummy (onion rings, sweet potato fries, quesadillas, chinese food, etc) I emphatically pronounce , "I'm having that on Saturday!" Of course by the end of the week I have likely said that about 20+ items that there's no way i could eat in one day.. so we all laugh and find it humorous. But in all seriousness, concentrate on the cheat day. That ice cream / pizza / chicken fingers/ whatever will still be around on Saturday. If you still want it, you can eat it. I've never been on a diet like this -- usually it's 100% restrictive, which I always fail at. Consider it 'delayed gratification' so to speak Keep up all the good work.. it's SO easy to gain weight and SO difficult to lose it and you've done so well. I'm your biggest fan without you I probably would have never started this diet so I thank you SO much for posting it, and being a "cheerleader" to us all on our way to our goals.. Please PM me if you ever need motivation/support (you too Kathy!! You have done so well too!) *hugs* -Katie

Cause Thanksgiving and Christmas are the best holidays to eat. How much weight do you need to lose? at an average of 1-2 pounds per week, if you start in January, will you have enough time to reach your goal? If so start in January but maybe be mindful until then. I can tell you from experience that there's nothing worse than packing on 10 extra pounds (for example) between now and the official "start date" -- it puts you that much farther behind your goal.. (believe me I have made every excuse in the book to rationalize things and in the end, it's more of a de-motivator... I get depressed because I think how much father behind I have made myself.... ) The great thing about this diet is you can move your cheat days around to accomodate holidays... and even if you cheat on a few more days than you are supposed to, I bet overall you can lose a good 10 pounds before Jan 1. So think about what's better -- starting the new year with 10 extra pounds (hypothetical of course) or starting it already having lost 10? Keep us posted of your progress regardless of what you choose. You can do this diet -- the first 3 weeks are quite rough, but the reward is significant... you can drop 10 pounds or more in the first 3 weeks alone!

Good luck!! she withdrew the $ from her paypal account before the claims were filed. Unfortunately they cannot go into her bank account and take the money back... they can file collections against her but not sure if they would do it for such a small amount.. -

We'll let you know when the seller is able to full refund your payment." Nice, right? So I think this means if she receives any money from anyone via paypal, it will be "frozen" in order to provide refunds to the people with claims against her. Until then, no dice. -
Hi Girls, I'm still here, chugging away on the diet.. haven't really fallen off the wagon (minor things here and there).. I have lost almost 25# since starting this diet and just about 39# over all. I'm psyched! Lots of my clothes are too big and I'm loving it. Lisa and Kathy glad to see you girls still here

How have you completed your transaction?
finzup replied to jessbgauvin's topic in Buy / Sell / Trade Archives
^^ unfortunately I wish I had taken my own advice.. i purchased from a seller here and used my debit card instead of a credit card and now the seller is a scammer and I'm likely out the money unless paypal can recover it. It's not a huge amount but it burns my cookies nonetheless -

Why can't scammers be banned? There are 3 of us now that have been scammed by lulucarmen -- isn't that enough proof? I realize she may not still be posting/logging in here but it would be nice to see a 'banned' tag under her name.... -

BDW Buy/Sell forum: Use at your own risk!
finzup replied to TammyWright's topic in Buy / Sell / Trade Archives
Would love if if BDW could implement some sort of feedback mechanism for sellers/buyers.. Even if it's something like a subforum for feedback instead of an integrated system that tracks feedback.... It would be very beneficial for sellers (to establish themselves as trustworthy) and buyers (to trust the sellers).. just an idea.
