  1. Today got in my back workout and 45 minute cardio...later will be a 35 minute cardio and hopefully I don't skimp out on my abs and calves (again). Time to eat an egg white omlette with sweet potato
  2. I got in my morning cardio(surprisingly). Later, I have to work chest...then more cardio. 4 more weeks to competition time!
  3. When you get up from bed is the best time to weigh yourself; before eating, purging, exercising, and other daily things that we do that may change your weight. Also, do it once a week, like everyone said.
  4. Did a leg workout and 45 min of cardio in the morning; then 35 minutes of cardio this evening. Have yet to do my ab workout...

  6. If a bridegroom chooses to pay for the day passes of people that choose not to stay at the resort, then, really, it is only fair that she subsidizes everyone else's lodging fee by the same amount. That is an extra $50 - $100+ per person that attends the wedding. That does not sound right to me at all. When someone attends a wedding, typically the bridegroom is not responsible for the cost of getting them there whether it is a local wedding or not (you would not subsidize gas money for your guests for a local wedding, for example). The dinger here is the 30% mark up on food in addition to the guest pass. Should the guest pay for the 30% increase in their plate fee for choosing a cheaper resort? That is the question at hand.
  7. When you book your wedding you put a $100 deposit down for the free package and $500 for the other packages (in USD). I believe they use your credit card and they don't process it right away (I have heard accounts of up to a month or so before the credit card was billed).

Weddings are about having the celebration you want, with the people you want, in a capacity that the bride and groom can afford. With no expectation of 'coming out ahead'. I don't think that these two scenerios are parallel. The OP is not trying to "come out ahead" and make money off of her wedding, she is trying to have some control over the cost. This is just a wierd scenerio where the guests' choice of lodging could make or break the budget --this scenerio just doesn't exist at a local wedding and so the proper etiquette is blurred. Personally, while I would not make guests pay for their plate, I would not eat that 30% mark up (no pun intended). However, assuming that there is nothing you can do about it, then one has the option to make the host hotel mandatory, budget for the higher price for everyone and adjust your guest list and/or funds accordingly, change resorts, or put the cost on the guest. One way of looking at it is that the 30% mark up is part of the cost to coming on to the resort -- it is not like the food became more expensive just because the person eating it did not stay at the resort. Therefore, if it is okay for the guest to pay for the guest pass, it is okay for them to pay for the mark up.
  11. There already is a facebook group called Dreams Punta Cana Brides. Has a bit of info and a nice way to hook up with others.
  12. The guest pass is normal but the extra percent on top of the per plate cost?? I have never heard of that except at one place and I thought that made no sense. If they are already paying to come onto the resort, and you are paying for their plate what is the point in further penalizing your guests by charging more for the plate?
  13. If you told me I had to stay at PPR I would not go against your wishes, but if it was outside my budget I would not go to the wedding. As for the extra fees on top of the guest pass I would tell the WC to either waive it or I'll take my business elsewhere.
  14. I don't think you were supposed to RSVP on facebook. I think they used facebook to get addresses of people to send the invitations. What is unclear is whether she simply taking for granted that you live together and that you will just tell her in passing that you are coming, or if she took your non-response to facebook as a decline and didn't send you an invitation for that reason? I would just ask her in this instance -- no bad etiquette here as she definately did not follow the etiquette rules here either.
  15. Could be as low as $450 or as high as $800+. I got quotes for both. It depends on who you go with.
  16. Girl, I am not organized either! I still fumble about to get my workouts, meals, chores, and regular work in among other responsibilities. BUT, I do get them in and that is all that matters. It won't feel like much at the time but eventually people will start telling you that you look different and then you will look in the mirror and then it is like a light switch goes on and you see that you have changed a lot! I mean, you should plan out the week, but really it will be one day at a time. Bottom line is, to get fit, you have to make time for it and the time can be made with even the busiest of schedules once one decides it is important enough.

  18. Honestly, a good chunk of it is mental. I have tried p90x, and designed for myself all kinds of programs (I have a healthcare/fitness background) and did a lot of sports, but the only thing I lacked was consistency. Really, almost anything will work if you stick with it. I have my first fitness show in a month so I have no choice but to stay committed to working out...or I'll look like crap on the stage. That was a huge wake up call for me to get into shape and it is amazing how you find time for things once you realize you HAVE to do it. I know many moms with young children that would put me to shame in a competition so it is definately doable if you prioritize it.
  19. Hey, Born and raised in GTA and will probably turn into a permanent fixture there. Nice to meet everyone
  20. If you have a TA or wedding planner, ask (s)he to negotiate with the WC. My feeling is that they can make the exception if you give them a compelling enough reason. Unless you are having some complexed wedding arrangments where the extra time is needed, I am sure it is accomodatable.
