Some people just don't know how to post things on the forum but are comfortable with email. I have only ever requested the email if they have offered to do it first and even then, I ask them if they would like to post it on the forum. Usually, the response I get is that they don't know how.

Here is the link to the Dreams Resort message board. You may have to create an account to see it. The tread topic is called 'Reception Tables' in the weddings section of the message boards (go to the 'Q&A' section, then the 'weddings'): Dreams Resorts & Spas - Login Hope that helps! -

Canadians: Legal ceremony in DR?

I would call the embassy and ask about the cake stuff. Their number might be in one of those links I Posted. The declaration has to be made within 3 months of the wedding date so that is when you want to start the paper work. -

Tam, there is the Dominican Consulate in Toronto where you can walk your paperwork right into and just pay the fees. Nice thing about that is you don't have to pay for notarization; just the legalization and the translation. If I can find the address, I will post it here; actually I think I posted it in a different thread on DR legal requirements; if I find it, I'll post it here. -

I talked to Deyanira and she said that I could just do the symbolic with her and then sign the papers with the judge at a later time/day. So it definately can be arranged, but I would keep insisting on it just to make sure. -
RANT- screaming babies in fancy restaurants
SSNM replied to michelle6114's topic in Just venting or funnies
Not at all, Islandbride! I too get annoyed with people who let their children run feral and then when you trip/bump into them and they get hurt, it is your fault! How about control your kids so they don't get hurt in the first place?? And I agree, if you know your kids can't keep up with the ambiance of a place, please have courtesy and keep them at home, or pick a family-friendly restaurant. -

I can totally empathize with the OP. I think it is a fine line between common courtesy and compassion. We should all be doing everything possible to make sure that our dramas and our priorities are not imposing on other people -- that's just common courtesy. However, we all need to have compassion in situations where it can't be helped. In this situation, the parents should have taken the baby away from the dining area and dealt with the crying as a courtesy. If it is a situation where they could not do this, then everyone else just needs to have compassion and understand the situation. -

I believe it is both USA and Canada. I did stumble on some random site that implied as much. If I find it again, I will post it here. Here is one where the supreme court of Georgia ruled against expedia: http://www.allbusiness.com/legal/tri...2518646-1.html And another in Seattle: http://www.lawyersandsettlements.com...ettlement.html

I think the feelings are mixed on the topic of who picks up the tab for guest passes, so whatever you decide is up to you. I personally, would do what SandalGirl has suggested and help your friend out while telling other people to pick up the tab for their guest passes.

Nope; if they RSVP'ed no, they should not expect an invite, IMO. Besides, invites cost money and the more you can save, the better. If you had just sent an STD and they just verbally told you no (i.e. informally) then I would send a formal invite to get their final answer. But, they RSVP'ed no from the start. Otherwise, there was really no point of doing an RSVP in the first place.

Okay found a brief article on it on cbc.ca: Expedia Canada faces consumer protection class action

Hmm...how do we know that this is real? Where did this information come from? I don't want to click a link and give information to some random site, lest it is a phishing scam.
-
If you sent out an RSVP with the STD and they responded 'no', then I would say you don't have to send a formal invite to them...seems redundant. If you are sending a formal invite to people who already RSVP'ed 'yes', then I would just make that invite more like a 'here are the final details' invite. If your 'no' people change to yes, then you can just brief them on the information (referring them to your website or your bridal party would be the best way to deal with mind-changers if you have it).

Thanks ash! Yea I think I'll be okay for my date. I was thinking to put it in November, outside of hurricane season but I don't want to wait that long to be married and I like the thought of celebrating my anniversary in summer rather than winter. Having said that, I still haven't put it together yet! There is something really daunting about it...or maybe I am on BDW too much and never get around to it Gonna try and tackle it now.
