  1. OMG your TA must be crazy! We were just married there on 6/19/10 and not only did they do a fabulous job but our 30 guests were absolutely blown away by the food and the resort itself. Do not be discouraged by a bad travel agent (we had one too). We have been to ERC 3 times and honestly, wouldn't do a thing differently. Ramon is also great. It takes awhile to get responses, but when we were there the week of the wedding he sat down with us for 2 hours to go through the details. Seriously - it was a perfect experience. If you need any more info, feel free to email me at [email protected]. Â Thanks! Â Chelsea Bond
  2. We'll post a full review of our experience on TripAdvisor soon but I just wanted to assure you that Ramon will do an amazing job. We were just married on 6.19.10 and everything was beyond perfect from him. He really came through for us.

I was planning on bringing some of my own decorations. I purchased 2 large nautilus shells for a sand ceremony and i also purchased white starfish for decoration at the reception. I am most likely going to bring my own candles but also have centerpieces through the resort. We are going to have 28 or so guests (4-5 tables) so we planned on using the ceremony centerpiece which is included in the gold wedding package, plus one reception centerpiece which is also included. That way we will only have to pay for 2-3 centerpieces. According to Ramon, the gold wedding package also includes additional ceremony decoration, which we are having the chair sashes and also the starfish and conch shells lining the aisle. We have also purchased our "guest book", we are having a "Message in a Bottle" guest book using a 1 gallon wine jug and paper in our wedding colors, aqua, white and sand. We are also purchasing luggage tag wedding favors from Etsy which will double as place cards for the reception. I was thinking of buying paper lanterns but it all depends on where we are having the reception. We will either have it in the foyer (where most of the receptions are held) or at the Lobster House restaurant as it is closed on Friday nights. The Lobster House has the thatched roof and a beachy feel but I think it may ending up being too large for a reception of 28 people. We are still undecided though. Is anyone else thinking of having their reception somewhere other than the Foyer? I'm getting married at ERC on 6/19/10! In discussions with Ramon when we visited this past November, we planned on originally having our reception on the beach (on the left side of the hotel closer to the restaurants). After we were told that in order to do it, it would be a buffet dinner instead of a served dinner, we'd be charge extra per person to have it on the beach, and we'd have to rent a dance floor for around $900 (I mean really...do you get to take that home afterwards??!!), we chose not to. When we were there in Nov. we did see a wedding do their reception at the Lobster House and they probably had about 30-35 people. Honestly, it looked like ton of fun. They brought in a DJ and 1 or 2 dancers, and it was a huge party atmosphere, even with that amount of people. The way that they sectioned it off, it looked like there were a ton of people, even just with that group. It's also cool because the lazy river wraps around the restaurant and really does give it such a tropical feel. We would really consider having our reception there but our wedding will be on a Saturday so the Lobster House will be open. Hopefully that helps...best of luck and make sure you share pics!!

You can't go wrong with steel drums in a beach setting Our colors are latte and soft pink; my bridesmaids will be in latte (dress of their choosing) and I'll probably have them carry pink flowers as the accent color. As for flowers, we are going to use whatever comes with the (gold) package but are probably going to check into local vendors to see if we can get a better deal on centerpieces. $100/per centerpiece just seems like a lot. A good friend of mine (and bridesmaid) is an event planner/designer and she recommended we at least look into it b/c flowers on the islands, in the caribbean tend to be reasonable if not cheap. As for the photog, we are using what the hotel provides, probably for the reception, but we've also hired an external photog (Sascha Gluck) for most of the pics and a TTD session the following day. His pricing is very reasonable and his work is very nice. Veronica did mention that they have votives for reception decoration. I'm also going to get some lotus flower votive holders to place around the reception and in the fountain. I found a good website to order from and it's not that bad ($ wise). We're not going overboard, just trying to add a few extra touches to keep it simple yet elegant. I ordered my dress in June and it was scheduled to ship this past Tuesday, so I should have it by the end of the month. SOOOOO excited! I was going to do a reception dress, too, but decided not too - I only get to wear this dress once so I'm going to keep it on for as long as I can and enjoy the moment We have 4 groomsmen and 5 bridesmaids. Our invitation list is much longer than those who will actually attend, but we are anticipating 30-40 guests. A few people have already booked! We are having an AHR for those who can't come to Mexico and we're thinking of doing a Mexican theme for that (my fiance loves Mexican food - lol). We are working with a local travel agent, and just sent out our save the date magnets with guest information cards. I have a great website for those, too. We are registered, and have our invitations picked out. I just ordered my fiance's wedding band. We have our reservations and flights reserved, too. We're in pretty good shape, I think ~Jennifer Hello! Did ERC say that centerpieces were $100/each? I had no idea?
  5. Hello! Can you let me know if they say that they'll do photography with the resort photographer for your welcome dinner/rehearsal dinner? I think that's a fabulous idea!
  6. Does anyone have pictures of their hair that was done by the Spa at ERC? It comes with our package but I'm a little hesitant not knowing the stylist? All pics are appreciated! [email protected]
  7. WHOA LADY CHEESE THESE LOOK AMAZING! I'm dying to do the same thing and I've done a lot of research but I'm not finding exactly what I need. Can you tell me a few things: 1) Where you found the actual passport-esque covers 2) Where you found the cardstock 3) Where you found the map 4) How much it cost per save the date I'm so excited to hear back on the details!!! Best Regards, Chelsea
  8. Hello all! We are new to this site and still undecided about our wedding location and looking forward to all the great information. Our names are Eric and Chelsea and we just got engaged in Paris a few weeks ago. We live in Dallas and are in the process of arranging everything for a destination wedding. We are very excited!
  9. Buenas noches!! Eric & I are planning our wedding for 6/19/10...in the Riviera Maya. We're looking most likely at ERC and would love to see anyone's pictures who have been married there, hear about vendors that you worked with, and any info on bringing additional decorations for the ceremony & reception! Oh, also...if anyone has any information on destination wedding dresses that are any different than what is typically described as one, I'd love to know! Thank you!
