  1. Hi jszy10, I printed my passport invitations at FedEx Office (Kinko's) and they did a beauuuutiful job! They'll give you a choice of paper and you'll just have to bring in the pdf that you've designed. I also had them cut, bind and laminate them which made them look really great - our guests went nuts over them! I was very particular about what I wanted and I couldn't have asked for a better job by them! Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions! Chelsea
  2. Hi Jwed12! I opted for the lillies submerged in water. The resort kindly provided the vases (Excellence Riviera Cancun). Best of luck with your planning!
  3. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! We hired Del Sol last June for our wedding in Riviera Maya and we (and our guests) were brought to tears with the pictures. They still give me chills! Here's a link and again, best wishes and congrats! http://delsolphotography.com/blog/content/galleries/?gal=312
  4. Hi Jamieirene! Congratulations on the planning! I had a very similar situation. I live in TX and my bridal party was in NY & PA (and already flew in for the bachelorette & bridal shower) so I certainly didn't want them to spend a ton of money on their dresses. I actually found a dress at a department store and then found it online for a little under $50. They all looked incredible and no one knew that they didn't spend a ton on them! All the bridesmaids were shocked and excited to know they didn't have to spend much (and they still loved them). Here is a pic of them and a link to Nextag where the Sangria line is all over the place. You have to look through the options but seeing these prices - it's worthwhile! http://www.nextag.com/sangria-dress/stores-html Hope that helps and good luck with the planning!
  5. Hello Mich1111 & melissa43, I completely understand what you're going through. When I started working out I knew I had 25lbs to lose. My fiance (now husband) also started working out and weight literally fell off of him as I worked out doing everything possible (and eating healthy) and didn't lose it nearly as fast. The good news is, a healthy diet & exercise do truly work, but if I can suggest anything - mix up your workouts. I was never a "sporty" person, and through preparing for my wedding I somewhat see myself as one now. I literally took everything under the sun from pole dance fitness (true story) to Zumba, Pilates, P90x & running on the elliptical. I truly think the key is mixing it up and not letting yourself get bored. Running on the treadmill gets extremely boring for me and relying on stressful diets never worked for me either. I'm happy to say I've kept all of the weigh off and we're celebrating our 1 year anniversary in a month. It CAN be done! Once you get the initial weight off, it's all about maintenance and you won't have to worry about counting every single calorie. On the positive side, this can be a truly life changing experience that you're doing while preparing for one of the best days of your life! Good luck to you both and please let me know if you have any questions or need any motivation (we could all use some now and again!).
  6. Hi clgriffi7! Congrats on your upcoming wedding! When I planned my destination wedding, I used Favor Warehouse http://www.favorwarehouse.com/ for nearly all of our OOT bags. We purchased things like lip glosses that were personalized with a scene of a beach that said "Eric & Chelsea" Riviera Maya, Mexico, 6.19.10 and decks of cards that had the same thing on the case (the cards weren't branded, just the plastic cases that they came in (which were great to keep them clean and from being wrecked by travel). In addition to those things we also went to Target and purchased mini travel bottles of sunscreen, aloe and OFF wipes. We also threw in some candy (easy, cheap, everyone loves candy). I picked up mini individual UNO cards at the party store to throw in there as well. It was really cute because so many people then used the bags throughout the week to tote around suntan lotion, room cards, etc. so you could always see who was a guest in our wedding around the resort Just please know that as stressful as these bags can easily become, your guests will be thrilled to have them regardless of what they actually contain. People were so grateful that they were all ready for them in their rooms and things were so personalized. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions! Chelsea
  7. Hello! Another great place with inexpensive flip flops that you can bejewel yourself would be either Michaels (the craft store) or Hobby Lobby if you have them where you're located! Happy planning!
  8. Best of luck in your bridal prep! Congratulations on the 16 pounds! That is amazing! I went wedding dress shopping before I started working out and needless to say, after working out for months it was the most rewarding experience to slip a dress on and actually love how it looked. Keep up the good work!
  9. Hello lopey99! Congratulations/Felicidades on your wedding and all of the amazing planning! This site is absolutely fabulous and I used it to plan my own destination last year in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Out of all of the sites that are out there, this is the most comprehensive! I lived in Spain for 6 months and I'm so excited you are getting married there. It's truly one of the most beautiful countries. Congrats again and welcome!
  10. Congratulations on your wedding and have a wonderful time planning! It all ends up coming together and I'm sure it will be fabulous!
  11. Hello busyBee123! After my destination wedding I can definitely tell you that my bridesmaids & Maid of honor 150% appreciated a cocktail length dress. We got married in June and it was incredibly hot, but the length was a perfect choice. Another great thing about shorter dresses is they have the potential to re-wear them (which all of my bridesmaids have done since our wedding last year). Long bridesmaids dresses tend to hang and die in my closet Hope that helps and best of luck with planning! Here's a pic of my bridesmaids dresses!
  12. DJ Mannia was fabulous! Our reception was incredible from the 007 theme song we asked him to play for us to enter into the reception (my last name is now Bond to the great mix of songs and perfect sound system! It was nearly 100 degrees (or at least it felt like it) and the men were ripping their shirts off. It was straight out of a dance club and I wouldn't have changed a thing! The communication was similar to what I experienced with the resort, which was a 2-3 day turnaround time on email responses. Patience is a virtue when planning a destination wedding. This is something that was a bit difficult to digest, but well worth it in the end. I would highly recommend DJ Mannia for your wedding if you want to have a party atmosphere that keep will keep the guests talking (and sighing) for years!
