  1. I have to say from the moment I started seeing the TTD photos from Del Sol, I knew it was something I had to do! We spent a week at the resort with friends and family and then the following week in St. Lucia, so we told ourselves it would be our 1 year anniversary gift to each other! We've now been married a little over a year and have booked our TTD session! My wedding dress was raw silk and took a beating between our wedding and then dancing the night away, so I'm purchasing another dress. I fell in love with Dahlia MacPhee gowns and ordered one last week! I'm hoping that I love it and will wear this for my TTD. Next stop...designing all of my own {Red-i} By Chelsea jewels for the occasion. So excited!! My vote is 150%...do it! Even if you don't have the ability to do it during your wedding trip, I think it's just as exciting to be carrying another wedding dress through the airport (or having my husband do it I should say a year later! Who doesn't love the idea of another wedding-related getaway (and another photo shoot with Del Sol!! Here's another recent Del Sol TTD session with my barefoot jewels! http://delsolphotography.com/blog/content/galleries/?gal=470 xoxo
  2. They allow dogs?! That's amazing! Your Yorkie is too cute! We hate leaving our little dachshunds when we go on vacation so this is great to know! Thanks
  3. Hi caboose! It definitely looks like you have a lot on your plate in the next few weeks! Good luck with all of it! My suggestion for shoes for your fiance is Nordstrom Rack (if you have one nearby). Lots of designers shoes at great prices! My husband bought his shoes there for our wedding last year in Riviera Maya
  4. So exciting, clgriffi7! The time is going to FLYYYYY! Enjoy every moment!
  5. So gorgeous Miss Chanel! Thanks so much for the praise and I'm so excited to see your pics!!! Telling me you're wearing your Christian Louboutin's by land and {Red-i} By Chelsea by sea makes me smile from ear to ear Thank you again my dear! XOXOXO
  6. Congrats Aruba Brides! I've made designed various pieces of jewelry inspired by the beautiful island of Aruba. It's definitely one of my favorite places If you're looking for barefoot jewelry, hair accessories, etc. for you and your bridesmaids, please feel free to reach out! I've attached some pics below. As a former destination wedding bride I know how important the jewels are!
  7. Ohhh I gotcha! Good stuff and great idea to have that confirmed! Unfortunately I'm just not sure how the whole process works about people staying at other resorts. Our guests luckily all stayed there so it wasn't something we ran into. I would definitely check wtih the WC. I agree, it would definitely be a huge pain to have to meet/greet everyone the day of. If that's the case, you may want to designate someone as the official "meeter/greeter" who isn't in the wedding party so you have piece of mind. I know our guests were just hanging out around the resort the day of up until the ceremony, so I'm sure someone would happily stand in the air conditioning and do that for you Just remember to breathe and if there are ways to delegate wedding tasks to designers/vendors...I say go for it! That was something I wish I would have done (I was a bit of a control freak). You want to make sure you're able to relax during your wedding trip (especially the day of
  8. Hey RyGuysBride! I'm not sure if you saw in Matt Adcock's post above, but for my wedding, my husband wore a pinstripe "Stay Cool" line suit from JOS A. Bank. I understand you fiance doesn't want to wear a suit and I wanted Eric (my husband) to stand out from the rest of his groomsmen, so I have a suggestion. Your fiance could wear pants that are different than the groomsmen (even if he doesn't want to wear the jacket). We did put everyone in the same ties, but it was something that tied everyone's looks together since my husband's overall look was a completely different all the way down to his shoes. My girls were also in turquoise dresses and here are a few pics to give you an overall view! Good luck and let me know if you have any questions on the details!
  9. Hey St. Thomas Brides! Congratulations on your upcoming weddings I wanted to let you all know that for your beautiful beach weddings, I design barefoot jewelry for your walk down the aisle! I was a destination wedding bride myself last year and know from first hand experience that custom jewelry collections (by wedding color/style/theme) make fabulous bridesmaid's gifts as well. Along with barefoot jewels I design custom travel-inspired destination wedding collections including hair accessories, so if you have any interest please feel free to reach out! I've attached some images below. This jewelry can be taken on your honeymoon and vacations thereafter - always to remember your special day! Happy Planning! 10. Hello marisa1 and welcome to the forum! I heard amazing things about Le Reve and Del Sol is incredible! They were actually my wedding photographers last year for my wedding in the Riviera Maya I've included a few pics below including some new ones where they've captured the barefoot jewelry I design on some of their TTD sessions! We may be able to share advice here since my husband and I will be coming to Playa del Carmen and spending part of our time at Le Reve! Did you happen to explore the area while you were there? We'll be doing a TTD shoot with Del Sol as a belated anniversary/birthday gift to ourselves. Cannot wait to see the fabulous hotel and congratulations on your planning! If you need any recommendations...this is a one stop shop!
  11. Hi tsc2012, I would check with the WC on the stipulations. When I had my wedding and had del Sol we didn't have to sign anyone in but had to notify the hotel. I don't think outside vendors are necessarily "kicked out" by any certain time by the hotel. I would really check closely with the hotel now though because they've changed a lot of policies on outside vendors. I had a different WC at the time who was great and allowed us to exchange things instead of paying the fees. I know there's a different WC there now, and policies always change with different WC's. Sorry I'm not of more help, but I know del Sol was there for the time we paid them. I'm pretty sure the reception (at least when I was there) had to end due to hotel rules by 11pm. Good luck!
  12. Glad you received it! Now for your box of jewels, I will be praying to the customs Gods to work quickly!! xoxo

  15. Hey Brides! After my destination wedding last year I was so happy that I created a customizable spreadsheet that detailed what I would bring as far as clothes & bathing suits & of course JEWELRY!
  16. Welcome to the forum!
  17. Kelly you look beautiful!! Such a flattering dress and you look angelic!
  18. I completely agree with you, justiner57. I had my destination wedding last year in the Riviera Maya and it was exactly how it was supposed to be. This wasn't because every single person we invited came, but it was the best because of the people who were there. We'll never forget how excited everyone was (and literally became friends overnight). By day 2 friends from different parts of the country who had never met were sitting together at breakfast and at the beach. Friends were standing at the bar with other friends we didn't even know had met yet...it was just exactly how it was supposed to be...but even better than imaged. Don't let the stress overtake you - it'll be such an incredible experience. After all, everyone is in paradise and there because they love you!
  19. Very pretty and turquoise jewelry would really pop on coral dresses! Here's a pic below of a necklace w/ earrings that I designed for my wedding trip. Del Sol was great to snap a photo of it! www.redibychelsea.com
  20. Janet you are such a MUSE and thank you for your sweet words You and your bridesmaids are going to be a force to be reckoned with in Punta Cana! I'm in complete agreement that you can really have fun and play with color. Destination wedding = the opportunity to be bold, daring and of course, glam!
