My AHR reception at the Dallas World Aquarium
bondgirl0072010 replied to Lisa DSO's topic in At Home Reception (AHR)
What a fabulous idea! I love the Dallas World Aquarium! For anyone in the DFW area, I just posted a jewelry/champaign get together here! xoxo http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/75081/dallas-fort-worth-bdw-in-the-dfw-jewelry-champagne-get-together -
Hey DFW Brides! I was married in the Riviera Maya last year and would be more than happy to host or organize a get together where everyone could peruse wedding/honeymoon jewelry and exchange information to help build a "destination wedding/AHR" bride network here! I haven't seen anything about DFW get togethers and I know there's a lot of us out here! I'd be happy to offer any ideas, share my experiences as a destination wedding bride and have plenty of jewelry available for yourselves and your wedding parties. I've traveled the world and can offer advice on choosing a destination for your wedding and/or honeymoon. I think it's a great excuse to relax during the stress of wedding planning...AND sip champagne I'd love to hear your thoughts! I've included some pics below of my jewelry (including of my own wedding pics) as well as links to my site, etc Thanks,

Hey Hawaiian Brides! As a destination wedding bride last year, my bridesmaids and I all wore my barefoot jewelry for our walk down the aisle and they were fabulous! I'm a jewelry designer that specializes in travel-inspired destination wedding jewelry and hair accessories and I'm always open to creating custom jewels for your big day and honeymoon! Pearls, Shell, Swarovski Crystals and beads from around the world are used in my creations. Barefoot jewelry are fabulous because you can wear them on a honeymoon, they make amazing gifts for your wedding party and you can take them on vacation for life! I've attached some photos of my jewelry below as well as links. Any questions, just ask! Congratulations on your weddings! My motto is, "Have Jewelry, Will Travel"

Hey nickieb! Do you have an area in Mexico in mind? I'm headed to Playa del Carmen in November and I have lots of pics from my wedding photographer from the Condo Hotels we'll be visiting (for part of our trip). Just let me know if you need any! Thanks!

Hi LB2012, I used Del Sol for my wedding and still have been in contact because they'll be shooting our Trash the Dress shoot in Nov. They're typically very quick to respond and it says on their contact page that you can also just send an email directly to [email protected] and they'll get back to you. I'm assuming you've already tried this contact form but perhaps clearing cookies/cache on your computer might help? Just a suggestion. At the very least by sending them an email to that info email address that I posted should do the trick! Let me know if you have any issues. http://delsolphotography.com/blog/index.php/ContactDelSolPhotography.flo

Congrats LilyRose! You looked beautiful and the pics in front of the Pitons are breathtaking!! -
Hey Laurelyn, Vistaprint definitely has some aggressive (but sometimes helpful) advertising. I used them while planning my destination wedding last year (these postcards below were one of the items we printed along with t-shirts that we had made). I use them a lot for business cards, stickers, etc. but it can be very overwhelming with the constant emails!

Show off your shoes....

Love the idea of custom foot jewels as your Something Blue! I did the same thing! -
JasmineRice, you are such a sweetheart. If you have any questions at all throughout the process, never hesitate to ask for help/advice/suggestions from me (and I'm sure everyone else who is currently planning feels the same way This really is such a helpful forum and I hope to not only bring advice/suggestions for jewelry but any feedback from my own personal experiences of having such an unforgettable wedding. Yours will be amazing and you're completely on the right track about how you're feeling/thinking about it. Many of my own friends and family weren't able to attend, but I'll echo it again...the ones who were there were the ones who were meant to be there. For whatever reason, it always works out. Even through the stresses/ups and downs (trust me, there will be more ups), it ends up turning out even better than you could have ever imaged. It sounds like you and your fiance have both had trying times and deserve to do what makes the both of YOU happy. Everything and everyone else will fall into place. I promise XOXOXO

Hey Lizzdee! Another suggestion for you and is barefoot jewelry! I wore it for my own wedding and so did my bridesmaids! They went perfectly and are wearable on your honeymoon and vacations for life! As much as I loved the shoes I wore for my reception, my barefoot jewels were so great for the ceremony (and the honeymoon!) Here are some pics from my own wedding and some recent custom barefoot jewels that have been ordered by brides for themselves and their bridesmaids as gifts! Feel free to email me with any questions to [email protected]. Thanks! They can be worn with heels too pictured below!

This dress is beautiful! I did the same thing and did not regret it. I tried on dress after dress and in the end I chose a gown that was not a "wedding dress" per se, but completely worked as one. I love the one shoulder Grecian look on this Bill Levkoff one as well. As you can see, I loved that look so much that I had it on my own. Really good choice and go with your gut!

Another good find from what I hear and have seen advertised is Shoedazzle. I think it's something around $40/mo for a pair of shoes that are selected by a personal stylist w/ free shipping. I haven't looked into the details but could be a good option! Here's a pic of my shoes that I wore for my reception (after barefoot jewels for the ceremony). I found these on Bluefly last year...another great site! -

I love the detail around the ankle! Nice choice! -
Of course I don't mind! The sentence under out names says: "Please share your wisdom with the new husband and wife to help them begin their new life!"

Hey luvmoo! I did postcards for my wedding from Vistaprint with the same template you used! We had our friends and family fill them out with wishes/advice for the bride and groom. Now I have them in a frame as a GREAT memory from our big day! At the top as you can see we wrote, "Memories and Words of Wisdom for the Bride & Groom!" and on the bottom of the postcard it said, "Please share your wisdom with the new husband and wife to help them begin their new life!"

Help!! Where to request/order Travel & Wedding brochures????
bondgirl0072010 replied to Layce's topic in Newbies!!
Hi Layce! Welcome to the forum! It's definitely a haven for tons of info from resorts, to vendors and beyond! My suggestion about travel brochures would be to contact the tourism board of the country where you're getting married. Another idea would be to contact a travel agent and see if they have any brochures they're willing to part with. Good luck and congratulations!! -

Bridesmaid gift
bondgirl0072010 replied to LovesJakeyPoo's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Hey Sllefebvr! If you're looking for something special for your MOH, have you considered custom jewelry? I designed each one of my bridesmaids/MOH their own pieces to make it as unique of an experience as their own personalities. Another thing I did to personalize the experience, was I added handwritten notes inside of each jewelry box that included memories that we had together If you need any inspiration, here is my site http://www.redibychelsea.com / http://www.facebook.com/RedIbyChelsea -
