  1. I'm doing a TTD session with Del Sol this November! My wedding dress was 100% silk and after dragging it around my reception and discoteca afterwards...it was beyond shot. Therefore, I purchased this dress that I'll be wearing (and designing a fabulous jewelry collection to go with it!) http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/dalia-macphee-strapless-taffeta-mermaid-gown/3107489?origin=category&resultback=1104
  2. Hey hindsmor, I don't have specific info on your hotel in regards to your question but I wanted to touch on the idea/concept of a welcome dinner. I did one for my guests and I have to tell you it was one of the most fun things that we did. Everyone came in on different days and it was our first chance to really get everyone together in a room, thank them for flying thousands of miles and for taking time out of their lives to be with us on such a special week. I think it meant a lot to people. This is where we also presented our wedding party with personalized shirts that said "Best Man/MOH/Bridesmaid/Groomsmen" with sayings on the back as well as their names. It got everyone really excited for everything and I was really happy that we did it. It also gave us a chance to introduce everyone in the wedding party and their relation to us. Since the big day is all about the two of you (as it should be), this gives you an opportunity to shout out your wedding party and just give an overall "Thank you so much for coming, it means the world to us" type of gratitude to all of your guests. Hope that helps a little! Chelsea www.redibychelsea.com
  3. Congrats 11-11-11 Brides! It's a fabulous wedding date for sure!!
  4. Congratulations AllieGatorUF and I LOVE your profile pic!!
  5. You are more than welcome my dear! If you're in need of any foot jewels (or any other jewels) feel free to check out my site! All of my pieces are travel-inspired xoxo www.redibychelsea.com Also - one more thing. Another favorite place of ours is Cabo San Lucas. It's on the Baja Peninsula, so it would be something different if you're looking to stay in Mexico but have a different taste and feel. The rocks against the water are breathtaking! I've posted a few pics below
  6. Hey Honeylime! I was married last year in Puerto Morelos (Riviera Maya) and there's definitely a lot to do (although we didn't take advantage of that when we were there). We're returning this November for my Trash the Dress session but we'll be staying in Playa del Carmen this time. There are cenotes (underwater caves) that you can explore (I'm including a Del Sol link to show you what they do in cenotes and what I'll be doing in Nov! http://delsolphotography.com/blog/index.php/category/5/Trash-The-Dress. This time we'll be splitting our time into two places. The first will be Condo Hotels which are beautiful, high end condos with more space than regular hotel rooms! It's right on 5th Ave. in Playa del Carmen and right on the beach. That will be the first part of the trip when we want to go out, experience the nightlife, etc. The second part of the trip we'll be heading to Le Reve which is a boutique hotel and more secluded for some R&R! Just an idea in case you want to mix it up with some fun & R&R in the same trip There's also Tulum to go visit the Mayan ruins. Many of our wedding guests went as a day trip and had a great time. There's also the idea of exploring Isla Mujeres or going into Playa del Carmen for something different! We did a very long travel day 2 days after our wedding to St. Lucia. It was great but there is plenty to do in the Riviera Maya as well! Best of luck! Chelsea www.redibychelsea.com
  7. Hey Eva1love! Congratulations on your wedding!! Being from the Northeast originally, I know there are TONS of flights to Cancun if you're interested in the Riviera Maya area. I was married there last year and depending on how long you're willing to drive from the airport, there are plenty of options with beauuutiful resorts. Do you have a specific type of resort in mind? Are you looking more for an all inclusive or boutique style? There's also the option of Tulum by flying into Cancun as well Any questions, just ask! Best, Chelsea www.redibychelsea.com
  8. Thanks so much Aruba Bride! Congrats on your upcoming wedding. I loooove Aruba! The beaches, the people, the nightlife, etc. are all fantastic! ~Chelsea
  9. Oh, I'm sorry...I just had a GLAM OVERLOAD with the turquoise one shoulder goddess dress...WHOAAA! GORGEOUS!!! I'm going to my SIL's wedding in September and may need this as well! Who is the designer?
  10. Janet, You are so sweet and I can't put into words how appreciative I am of you sharing your experience. It was such an organic process with you. From the moment you sent me photos of your bracelet and dress I knew exactly what I wanted to design for you.
  11. Hello UK Brides! I wanted to pass along my information if you're in need of any handcrafted jewels & hair accessories (Exotic Hair Couture) for the big day (and for your wedding party), honeymoon, welcome/rehearsal dinner and more! I was married in Riviera Maya, Mexico last year and also have my own one of a kind travel-inspired jewelry business. My motto is "Have Jewelry, Will Travel". I've included a few photos and please join me on FB as well. Yes, I'm happy to ship the UK XOXO Best of luck in your planning and congratulations to you all!
  12. Hi Amanda! I can definitely understand where you're coming from based on the one shoulder dress needing fabulous earrings. I wore a one shoulder dress for my destination wedding last year! Here is my suggestion if you're interested. I'd be happy to design you a custom pair of earrings that would not only compliment your dress (if you would want to send me a picture of it, I can take a look at what I think would be a great design) but also the rest of the jewelry that you'll be wearing. Is your dress a Grecian-style? With a one shoulder dress you have the freedom to wear some very bold & exotic earrings! I've attached a few pics below my signature below.
  13. That's really fabulous advice, AfricanVenus! Thanks for sharing - definitely make me think!
  14. Congratulations! Cancun is fabulous! ~Chelsea www.redibychelsea.com
  15. That's really great to know and so important. I know many people don't believe that "comfort" is that big of a factor, but I know for my destination wedding it certainly was! We slipped into our barefoot jewels for the ceremony and then into heels (I did but my bridesmaids stayed in their comfy barefoot jewels the whole night I brought 3 pair of heels with me and ended up only wearing my barefoot jewels and one pair of heels. With the heat and unforeseen swelling that occurs because of nerves (and obviously the heat itself), comfort is alllwaaays a plus!! Great choice and very unique!
  16. Oh you are so sweet, thank you for such an amazing compliment You will be gorgeous!! Did you purchase that dress yet or are you still deciding?
  17. Hey cindyinpink! Mexico is a fabulous choice! I was married in the Riviera Maya last year (Puerto Morelos) and will be heading back for my Trash the Dress session to Playa del Carmen this time! If you need any suggestions, just let me know. Congratulations and happy planning! Chelsea {Red-i} By Chelsea: Exotic Travel-Inspired Jewelry {Red-i} By Chelsea on Facebook!
