  1. You all are going to LOVE this forum! Congratulations and get ready for some amazing experiences in planning your weddings! Here are a few shots from my wedding!
  2. I just did my TTD last week with Del Sol and I'm so excited to see the pics! Based on the conversations about color, I designed some very bold jewelry. The photographers loved how they caught the light and color was amazing with the jungle of the cenote and sunrise morning light on the beach! Don't be afraid to go bold with accessories!! This is the time! (not my TTD, but a photo of foot jewels in the cenote from another person's TTD
  3. Hey MNtoMX! If you're looking for jewels and hair accessories please feel free to check out my site! I design destination wedding jewelry, was a destination bride myself last year and just did my trash the dress. I'm all about the jewels a few inspiration photos are below!
  4. Congratulations jkhowell! Any of the Dreams brides I've worked with have had great things to say about the resort! The Riviera Maya is absolutely beautiful!
  5. Pinterest is definitely amazing! It's so great for inspiration boards! My brides have loved putting these together and sending them to me to show what they'd love created for custom jewels!
  6. Thank you so much! I'm sure you ROCKED them for your wedding yesterday! Congratulations!!
  7. Yes! It's definitely another great option! Another idea is to save any scraps that might otherwise be discarded during alterations and utilizing those materials. I'll be designing a piece out of Coconoir's sash as she mentioned after her trash the dress, so even the accessories can be repurposed!
  8. Hi thottes! Your headband is gorgeous! I agree with chrisdior and anudrm with the idea of the headband being a statement piece so not going overboard on jewelry. I am a custom jewelry designer and would be happy to work with you on creating the perfect pieces. My ideas to begin with would be some simple (maybe pearl and rhinestone crystal) earrings, a bare neck since the focus will definitely be on your face/headband until further down the dress.
  9. Thanks so much venus! This was actually a custom bridal set but can be re-created if you are interested The beauty of customization!
  10. and I should really read the posts prior! Yes, so excited to design more custom jewels for you using that faaaabulous sash!!
  11. Another idea that I've already talked to many brides about and will be showcasing later on is having custom jewelry made out of components of your dress. If you do a TTD session, it can still be done since most dresses are easily salvaged after sand and water if properly dried out! With many dresses having crystals, pearls, applique, etc. plus the material itself, the possibilities are endless! It's another keepsake that can be worn either for special occasions or to spruce up a t-shirt & jeans. I'll be getting my dress I purchased for my TTD session hemmed in the next few days and plan on using the leftover fabric to do just this.
  12. So fabulous Coco!! The story about your grandma just made me LOL - what a cutie, and still SPICY!!
  13. Hi Julianna! Congratulations on your upcoming wedding AND your newborn! Since you're getting married in Cuba, I thought you might be interested in my wedding photographer's recent adventure (through photos) of a shoot they just did for a recently married couple! They have some of their own personal adventure mixed in there but there are some amazing images! Congratulations and best of luck! Here's their slideshow: http://delsolphotography.com/blog/post-1111/Matt-Sol-Cuba-Adventure
  14. WOW bizimana, your invitations are GORGEOUS!! I LOVE that they have the image of Table Mountain in the background! I was in SA in 2004 and I'm returning for the holidays this year. What a fabulous destination you chose. WOW, your guests will be blown away!! As far as luggage tags, this isn't necessarily a "favor" but I used luggage tag-shaped cut outs for the placecards on our reception table. I tied raffia around through them and then hand wrote each guest's name on them. It was a really cute way to incorporate the destination wedding theme and still looked chic! Here are a few pics below: Congratulations again!
  15. Hey Ladies! Just an fyi, there are various threads on here with FABULOUS ideas! You can also search by your own resort too which is helpful when planning details/logistics with the hotels. Congratulations and happy planning!
  16. So sorry for your loss, lovepea. I'm a destination wedding bride who was married in 2010, so if you need any pointers on getting things ready, please let me know.
