I wore barefoot jewelry for the ceremony (as did all of my bridesmaids) and then I switched into heels for the reception! Best of both worlds!

In my experience traveling with both jewelry and hair flowers, make sure you carry everything on. In every package I send to brides I include a print out that basically gives instructions on how to care for their jewelry, and one of the main points is to NEVER check your goodies! Another idea is to get a post office flat ship box, pack it up with bubble wrap and make sure everything is protected (then of course...carry it on!)
