  1. Happy Monday, Moon Palace Brides! I just wanted to share this fun little quick video that also features the founder of this thread, krsmith herself! Hope you enjoy it (we all need a little break for fun on a Monday)
  2. If you're able to get away to another resort, I would highly suggest it. The reality is your friends and family are going to be so excited for you both and are undoubtedly going to want to spend time with you if they see you walking around the resort. We spent the day after the wedding with our group but then headed to St. Lucia for a solid week of Mr. & Mrs. time. It really is nice to have that time to connect after being the host of such an amazing week with friends and family. You'll be the superstars to everyone which is fabulous but it also calls for some hosting responsibilities. If you're anything like me, I was never completely able to turn off the, "I just want to make sure everyone is having a good time" feeling (I mean, how couldn't they be...they were in paradise! No matter how much I worried, everyone was having so much fun - it didn't warrant the worrying that I did. This is also why having some extra time with the new Mr. will be important - just to decompress, talk about all of the excitement of the week and enjoy each other before getting back home. I'm pretty sure we spent 90% of the time on our honeymoon, laughing and reminiscing about the week of friends in family - all in one place to celebrate us. It'll truly be amazing and rest assured, it'll all work out no matter what! I'm not sure if you're looking for a more "romantical" option to spend a few days, but I after doing our Trash the Dress shoot our photographers (Del Sol) suggested we spend a few days at Le Reve Hotel & Spa and it was like we were worlds away! Here's my review below if you're interested (with pics!) Where Heaven Kisses Earth, A Visit to Le Rêve Hotel & Spa in Playa del Carmen, Mexico Best of luck and remember, it'll all be perfect, even if you have to see Uncle Bob at breakfast the next morning :-)
  3. Congratulations on your wedding, Jill! You look stunning! I am right there with you on the recommendation of wearing an artificial flower. I wore a real calla lilly and was so upset that I didn't have a memento to take with me AND not to mention it was a fortune. I actually wrote about my own experience at Excellence (with the hair flower) here: Real or Fake? Another Bridal Conundrum… Congrats again!
  4. Sounds good! Any questions, feel free to reach out and I'd love to have you join the fan page - lots of photos there as well :-)
  5. You're so sweet, JayKay thank you so much! Lots of love goes into each pair and I feel like it's a huge privilege to be part of bride's special days around the world! The feeling is amazing when each bridesmaid opens up their packages (I'll never forget it on my own big day)! If there's something a bride needs to check of the list and not concern themselves with for their special day, jewelry should definitely be on the list. I love being able to take bride's dreams and make them a reality for their entire jewelry collections both for their own pieces and their bridesmaids. The best things to hear are, "It was like Christmas when I received my package of jewels"! Thanks again for the kind words :-)
  6. Hey Sundanse20! You are going to love ERC! Feel free to check out my site and my page to see photos - I have a TON! Here are a few articles about the planning process! "I Have My Wedding Dress, What's Next?" "Packing for a Destination Wedding & Honeymoon" "Real or Fake, A Bridal Conundrum..." Here are a bunch of photos to get you started! View from our room's balcony: Entrance window in the foyer/lobby Custom barefoot sandals for the girls - surprise! +tears of joy when unveiling their jewels! Such a blast getting ready (and lots of laughs)! Ceremony setup next to the Excellence Club area (away from lots of people...minus a few speedo-wearers that walked by :-) Happy Tears in paradise! Photo ops on the pier! Such a gorgeous view! Hors d'oeuvres @ cocktail time Extra bar set up before the pier - guests walked from the ceremony site to the bar and then up to the pier that had waiters! sneak away photo op with the Mr. :-) Reception in the foyer off the side of the lobby! HOT but perfect Anothe sneakaway moment downstairs, off to the side of the resort with the reception in the background: Make sure to get a photo in the elevator! Loved this one and it's now hanging in our dining room blown up on a canvas! We danced, drank and celebrated the entire night! BEST day/night of our lives and I'm sure it'll be the same for you all!
  7. Aw Bree, you're so sweet! I cannot WAIT to see the rest of your pics! Thank you for being a fabulous {Red-i} By Chelsea Beach Bombshell! XOXO
  8. Hello All! I was married in the Riviera Maya and have been there multiple times. I've never had an issue with mosquitos like I have on other islands like Aruba and St. Lucia and even as far as Asia (Thailand, China, Vietnam). I practically felt like I rolled myself in honey (on my honeymoon) I was bit SO MANY TIMES! This is something pretty common though in lush, tropical areas. I tend to be bitten wherever I go but can truthfully say I've never had an issue there in the Riviera Maya! If you're looking for feedback on some hotels, I've written a few reviews here to give some ideas! We were married at Excellence Riviera Maya but did our Trash the Dress session in Playa del Carmen. We spent that time at two hotels to try different experiences, i.e. Condo Hotel vs. a boutique hotel. Let me know if you have any questions and enjoy! El Taj Oceanfront & Beachside Condos = awesome home away from home! Le Reve Hotel & Spa: Where Heaven Kisses Earth! = SUPER romantic!
  9. Hello Kristie! Thanks so much! I just PM'd you So sorry for the delay but I was traveling for more jewelry inspiration the last two weeks and just flew back from Europe last night! I definitely do sell this necklace (would need to be re-created as it was a custom design) as well as barefoot jewelry, earrings, necklaces, bracelets and hair accessories! I'd love to work with you and look forward to hearing from you! Here's a fun shot as I'm receiving inspiration from the isle of Santorini :-)
  10. Hey fellow jewelry goddesses! I thought I'd share a necklace I just designed for a Maid of Honor! It reminded me of a perfect destination wedding piece for bridal as well - shells/pearls/crystals/rhinestones and all handwired! Great choices on all of your jewelry by the way! I know it can get very overwhelming!
  11. I think it really depends on the material. Something with delicate beading/lace could be a different story as far as wear and tear than something like what I wore which was just all solid taffeta. To be honest, neither the ocean water, cenote water or the pool water did a thing to my dress - it still looks like new.
  12. One more thing to add, please feel free to check out what other BDW Brides have to say! BDW REVIEWS
  13. Thanks so much for the sweet words Matt! Hello and congratulations, abs824! Destination wedding jewelry happens to be my forte! Please feel free to check out my site along with my fan page HERE that I'm constantly updating with unique designs in barefoot jewelry as well as other jewelry and hair accessories. Every piece is hand made with LOTS of love :-) Best of luck and feel free to reach out. As you can see, Del Sol has definitely captured the magic in the photos that were posted!
