Hi, I don't know how to post pics, but I will email you some. I think she is great and did great work.

While Ceiba managed to mess up and ruin everything they touched at my wedding, the vendors I used there were great. I used Eufloria for flowers and some other decorations adn was really h appy with them. Very easy to work with and know the property well. I also worked with them to find flowers/decorations that fit into my budget. If I had to do it again, I would use Eufloria (just not get married at Ceiba)

Morgan Lynn Photography photographed my wedding, ttd, and rehearsal dinner. Morgan is amazing and the pictures are fabulous. She and her husband Amir shot all the events. They were so easy to work with and captured every moment. They were on time, got all the shots, and fit in seamlessly to the wedding. Before the wedding, I spoke on the phone with morgan several times. She answered all of my questions and was very professional. She anticipated many of my questions and answered everything. She and Amir were great at the wedding and took the most amazing photographs. I couldn't be more pleased with her work and really enjoyed working with her. If anyone is looking for a photographer, look no further than Morgan Lynn.

Importance of videographer
ask9999 replied to annieanddaryl's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Wedding Vendors
I think its up to you, but I had one and am glad I did. My husband did not want to spend the money at the time and we debated whether to have a videographer, but now when we watch the video he is happy that we got one. We used Caper productions who can be emailed at [email protected]. They were great and very reasonable. -
Recommendations for Videographer?
ask9999 replied to j081717's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Wedding Vendors
I used Caper Productions-- their websites are Caper Producciones - Professional video services for weddings in Cancun and the Mayan Riviera and Caper Producciones - Professional video services for weddings in Cancun and the Mayan Riviera. The email is [email protected] They were great to work with, very responsive, reasonably priced, and produced a great product. I would use them again. -
Program or No Program?

When to send out Thank You cards..
ask9999 replied to SDbeachgirl's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I would write your thank you notes as you receive your gifts. Doing a ton of thank you notes at once sucks. I would just get some cute simple thank you cards or some plain cards to do them on. -
NO Father Daughter Dance?
ask9999 replied to mctilleys's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I didnt do a father daughter dance, but my husband did dance with his mother. I think its your wedding and you should do whatever you want to make you happy. If youw ant to do a father daughter dance, make sure to pick a really short slow song. I also think the idea of doing the father/daughter and the mother/son dance at the same time or splitting it up between important male family members in your life is a great idea. -
Invitation Etiquette...please help?
ask9999 replied to JanineA's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I would definitely send them invites. You are supposed to send an invite to everyone you sent a STD. I had people I knew couldnt come to the wedding, but sent them invitations anyway- I thought it let them know that I still wanted them there. -
Walking down the aisle??
ask9999 replied to meldal101010's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I think that is a great idea. Sorry to hear about your dad and I hope the surgery goes well. -

Hi, I noticed Ceiba del Mar is one of the hotels you are considering. DO NOT get married there- I did and regert it. The hotel was a disaster and managed to ruin not only my wedding, but my honeymoon as well (which was supposed to be to a different country). I have posted in other areas a full review. I just wanted to give you a heads up. I wouldnt wish any bride the experience I had.

One more thing-- Matt- I have no doubt its a great place to shoot. No one will deny that the location is beautiful and makes for great pictures. However, and please don't take this the wrong way, shooting at a hotel and planning a wedding there/getting married there, are two very different things. But when its your wedding, the details are more important and you want it to go well. Some of my guests (clearly not those who came home with bed bug bites, bacterial pneumonia, a missing tooth, less cash b/c theirs had been stolen out of their in room safe) were not aware of all the disasters and thought that Ceiba was just not a good place to stay. They were not aware of all the services that were supposed to be provided and how things should have gone. BUt no one should have to go through what I did (and apparently I am not the only one) for their wedding. I think everyone can agree that your wedding should be special and wonderful and you want to go to a resort where they treat it as such. Perhaps a few details? We vote Ceiba del mar (NOT PAID TO SAY THIS EITHER). Seriously folks, its one of our top fav places to shoot at!

I posted a short version of all the miserable things Ceiba did to ruin my wedding and honeymoon (yes, they managed to ruin both) in another Ceiba post. I will also be doing a full write up when my schedule calms down a bit. Matt- I have not posted anything on trip advisor, so obviously this was not a unique experience and others have had terrible visits there too.

I used Morgan for my wedding. I am still waiting to get theh pics back, so I cant comment on that yet but she was great to work wtih. Very easy going and did not take forever taking the posed shots. She is also really nice and answered all of my questions, etc. I would recommend her in heartbeat.

The night of my rehearsal dinner it was not windy, but on my wedding day it was. It was also really windy a few nights before. I did not wear a veil because of the wind and woudl tell you to do the same. I woudl still have it outside though. Totally worth it. (also, the wind is good in some ways b/c it decreases the amount of bugs. I was covered in bug bites from the days/nights when it wasnt windy).

To give you the quick overview (so many things went wrong its hard to write about all of them). 1) Ceiba del Mar double booked my wedding and when I discovered this by mistake less than three months before my wedding, they were initially rude and the old wedding planner yelled at my mother and hung up the phone on her. At this point all my contracts were final and most of my guests had booked. After a hysterical several days and several phone calls to the general manager, it finally got worked out but I wouldn't wish the stress it caused on any of you. DO NOT USE THE SPA. My husband got an infection from the spa which caused us to have to cancel our honeymoon and to rush back to the states so he could have emergency surgery. They served the wrong fish at teh wedding. It was inedible. I spit mine out. My goody bags were stolen. I brought them to the rehearsal dinner and they told me to leave them at the bar and my guests could pick them up from there. Most of my guests forgot to pick them up and the goody bags and all their conents "disappeared" and were never recovered. The bartender at my rehearsal dinner propositioned most of my female guests, including my mother and pregnant sister in law. Such behavior is inappropriate and unacceptable. My guests had health issues on their return- two returned with what they told me were bed bug bites, one broke her tooth on the food, and another returned with bacterial pneumonia (she went straight to the hosptial from her flight). These are just a few of hte issues I had (I can go on if you would like, just ask). Ceiba is a beautiful resort and should be an ideal place to get married. UNfortunately, its not. I would not recommend this place to anyone and I don't think the beauty of the place overcomes the issues I faced and the possibility/risk that they will ruin your wedding too. I wish I had better information to report, but sadly I dont. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Mexbride83-- I thought I PMed you back-- sorry if I didnt Quote: Originally Posted by mexbride83 Ask9999 - Can you please elaborate on your experiences? Do you think you could write up a review on here, to help all of us Ceiba brides to be? Atleast then we'd know what didn't work out (food? decor? wedding coordinator?), and maybe avoid those things, as I know it's too late for some of us to change resorts altogether. Andrew - Thank you so much for the offer! I'm really interested in seeing more pictures of weddings there. It helps to visualize all the potential locations at the resort to get married. I'm so happy to hear that the resort looked nice when you did your walk through.

Happy planning and good luck with Ceiba.
