  1. I've never been to Cuba but I can tell you that the warm, welcoming feeling that Jamaican's give you cannot be duplicated! Depending on the vibe you are going for, Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, and Negril give you all completely different experiences, all unique, and all great!
  2. I hate to say it , but some single women tend to hate on those of us who are attached as if it is our fault that they don't have a man. Most women dream about their wedding day so she is probably feeling a ton of emotions that are hard for her and your other friends to express. Try to keep in mind that deep down she probably is very happy for you and just has a difficult time showing it. I feel so blessed that my best friend and I are going through our engagments and planning together! Between her and this forum, I get all my wedding chatter out and tend to down play it around those women in my life who might fuss!
  3. Thanks for the feedback ladies. I guess it's just a matter of preference. I would like to get a better idea on the license turn-around time though.
  4. Welcome Groomy...nice to have you! (I wish my FI would be more involved!)
  5. I've heard that with a lot of the all inclusives there are always tons of weddings all day everyday. If you consider that June is actually off-season in Jamaica, I would think that the winter months (non-hurricaine season) would be even worse. If you want a more intimate experience perhaps you could look at some of the samller resorts and then go to Sandals for you honeymoon. I was looking at Sandals at first but whole multiple weddings on one day made me choose Moon Dance Cliffs. It is still an all inclusive but on a much smaller scale. AND they only do one wedding per day. I'm sure there are some other choices similar to this as well. Hope this helps!
  6. LEGAL CEREMONY IN U.S.? HI moon dance cliffs brides. I was wondering if any of you were having a seperate legal ceremony in the US. I know that jamaica weddings are valid in the U.S. so I'm wondering if there is any advantage to doing so? I hear it takes a while to get your marriage license when you return.
  7. What happens if you don't do a legal ceremony in the US at all. Technically, the ceremony in Jamaica will be valid in the US. I'm torn on this issue. If I don't have to do a legal ceremony here I would prefer not to.
  8. Justustwo and Petals, you brought tears to my eyes. I'm such a cry baby! Seriously though, your pictures embody the way I want my wedding to be...HAPPY and FUN! Congratulations to you both.
  9. Congratulations and welcome! I was actually considering this resort at one point too. It looks gorgeous!
  10. Okay so, one of the benefits from working from home is that I see all the trashy new celebrity news first! Anyway, so have you all seen the pics of Jon in France holding hands and puffing on cigarettes with his new woman? This new girl (age 22) is the daughter of the plastic surgeon who performed Kate's tummy tuck a few years ago. The two were said to be there to do a deal with Ed Hardy who is a big fan of Jon's. (No wonder he was rocking all those Ed Hardy hoodies on the last few episodes.) I thought this was pretty bold of him to be out hand-holding so soon knowing that the pap's would capture it on film!
  11. I didn't read through all of the posts, but am I the only one who thinks that Kate is a total Beotch? I don't know any man that could put up with that for a life time! I've watched the show from the beginning and at first it was funny...the yelling in the toy store, the "love" slaps... But after a while it was just like, geeze; give the poor guy a break. I normally don't like to pass judgement on people cause our lives are all complicated and I'm sure I wouldn't look like an angel on TV, BUT, when you invite the world into your home, that's what happens!
  12. I love all you 7+ ladies out there!!! It's a good thing my FI didn't see that before he proposed cause I had him convinced that we were the only couple out there that had been dating for a happy 5 years and still not engaged!
  13. Both dresses are beautiful but I like option B better for a beach wedding.
  14. It would be fun to meet up some time. Any ideas of where and when? Quote: Originally Posted by girlkin Hey ladies DMV / NOVA bride here. Its nice to meet you all. 15. If I were a bridesmaid I think I would rather have my dress paid for. Especially if you have a wedding party who has been in multiple weddings! In my experience, no matter how nice the dress is, I never end up wearing it again so I would really appreciate a bride who was willing to pay! Quote: Originally Posted by jawedding hmmm.. 16. As funny as it sounds I'm procrastinating from going to bed. Once I close my eyes I know work is just a snooze away.
  17. They look great! I am always so impressed with folks who are creative enough to make their own designs.
  18. I have to admit my clock is definitely ticking. My motto has always been marriage before carrige so I have a while to go. We aren't getting married until 2/2011.
  19. It's funny that you mention this because my FI acutally asked my dad long before he actually asked me to marry him. We had dated for almost 5 years before he popped the question and we went through a mini break up along the way. Anyway, I was so devistated about this break up my dad ended up telling me that my now FI asked him if he could marry me so he could calm me down. I love my dad! He knew it was the only thing that knock me back into reality.
  20. Welcome Molly! This is a great place to come to for any and all questions that will come up as you plan. Where in Negril will you be married? 21. I never even heard of Boudoir Photo Shoot. Is that weird? I am totally going to copy though if the price is right. Lord knows that once I start having his babies we'll both want something to remember the better days! You look great in your pics by the way!
  22. There were a couple of moments that kind of sealed the deal but the one that stands out the most is when he dressed up with me on Halloween! Halloween is my favorite holiday and I thought he might be too "cool" to participate. To my surprise he was totally game and we were a cowboy and saloon girl! In addition to that, I had a little too much to drink that night and he held my hand as a vomitted out of his car window. LOL!!! TRUE LOVE!
