  3. Thanks for the information Dana and Hermosahoops!! Â So it seems that getting the dj is the same price a renting the speakers then...hmm we might just as well go for the DJ then! Â I was also thinking of bringing paper lanterns in white and salmon and maybe a tulle to run on the chairs (the simple chairs) along the isle I dont want flowers on the decoration of the gazebo. Â Our wedding is on Tuesday, April 19th 2011 at the gazebo. We'll be there from Sunday Apr 17 to Sunday Apr 24 (easter Sunday). We have 30 ppl booked already and a few more guests are coming from Brazil as well! Â My family and I are thinking of going to Altos de Chavon on the Monday to look for a local flower shop for the bridesmaids bouquets and maybe something for the centerpiece, I found the addresses for 8 different places but we'll try to find the local cemetery first (i know kinda of creepy eh?!) as they normally have a little flower shops at the entrance. The challenge will be getting them in the resort but we'll try to get something small in case we need to toss them or pay a fee. Â I already got my wedding dress!!! I'll post some pictures when I go get it fitted around February or so. Â What bridal gown styles are you all getting? Is anyone going for the full bridal gown or is everyone keeping is simple and flowy? I would love to know what the other brides are wearing!! Â Andressa Tossato Â
  4. Hello Ladies, Â I noticed some of you brought your own (beautiful) decorations for the gazebo. Does the resort charge any extra fees for bringing your own decorations? I was thinking of doing the same for my wedding in April 2011. Â I was also wondering if anyone just hooked up an iPod to the speakers for the wedding ceremony. I want a specific song and I'm not a huge fan of how much we have to pay for the trio to play unknown songs. Does anyone know if they provide the speakers? If so how much did they charge? Â Any info would be greatly appreciated! Â PS: I am slowly getting things together..once I have all the decor and wedding attire I will post some pictures so you'll can see them! Can't wait to go to Dreams La Romana!! Â Thanks!! Â

I was able to speak to the local church in Altos de Chavron..they were really nice (well once grabbed the phone off my fiance's hand and started trying out my rusty spanish with them) they said they will look into the date and to call back once its closer to April but it may be possible...im getting married on the Tuesday of easter week but I dindt mention anything to them yet...i'll give them a call once its closer to the date...it doesnt hurt to try ...if not we'll do something simple with my family only here in Canada when we get back....
  6. Congrats to the all ladies who will be getting married at DRL! I am wondering if anyone has been able to get a local catholic priest to come celebrate their wedding at Dreams La Romana...we could go to the church of Altos de Chavron but I would rather keep everyone at the resort...let me know if you have any info!
  7. April 19, 2011 at Dreams La Romana, Dominican Republic. We've sent out emails + created a group on FB. and called the ones who refuse to use email. We included a little save the date picture that they print and put up on their fridges so they dont forget We have a travel group rate that we've sent out to everyone but are leaving it pretty much open for ppl to book their own trip if they want to but we've asked the wedding party, if possible $$, to make the reservation with us within the next month.
  8. It's booked! We're getting married at Dreams La Romana on April 19, 2011!!! We'll be at the resort from April 17 to 24, 2011. If anyone will be there during this time, please email me at [email protected] we can share some ideas! Happy planning everyone!
  9. Hi Eliana! Thank you so much! This definitely helps!!! Now I can adjust my budget accordingly Happy Wedding Planning!
  10. I really want to have a Catholic Ceremony at the gazebo at one of the resorts in the Dominican Republic but one of the agents I contacted told me that it costs a lot more than just the legal ceremony. I am willing the get the legal stuff done here before we go and send the church papers to DR 3 moths before the big day. It is my understanding that if we're only doing the Religious ceremony that we should not be charged the judge fee of $300 and am hoping that is how much we would contribute to the DR parish. Does anyone have an idea of how much it would cost to have a priest come to the resort to perform the ceremony in the DR? We're in a very tight budget...please help!
  11. How long before the wedding day did you girls book the vacation packages? I have been trying to get quotes for November 2010 but TA's are coming back with very expensive group quotes Some resorts say that 3 months prior to the date is enough time to book and arrange everything. Has anyone waited till the very last minute? We just want whatever comes in the free wedding packages and hopefully we get a nice dinner at one of the restaurants with it...what are your thoughts?
  12. OMG Me too!! We were sure we wanted the Dreams Punta Cana because they had the kids stay for free deal, but after looking up on their website that it does not apply to group rates.. So now we think we want the Majestic Colonial as it has a little Chapel inside and everything seems so great...I've contacted my (possible) wedding planner..let's see what she has to say in regards to the price difference as the Majestic doesn't include the dinner reception on their wedding package. I'll keep you all posted! Dressa
  13. Thank you so much everyone!!! I will also continue doing my research and post the useful information on the Dreams Punta Cana Resorts section.

I'm also happy to answer any questions that you have, if I can. Both resorts are great. We decided on Dreams Punta Cana, but I think I actually liked Dreams Palm Beach resort better. Congrats on the engagement, and good luck with the planning! :0) Tara That is awesome news!! Thank you so much for the info!!! I would love to see the pictures, please send them to [email protected] if you have a chance.
  15. Hello Ladies!!! I just got engaged 2 weeks ago and we want to have the wedding sometime in 2011 in Punta Cana - DR. We really like Dreams Punta Cana and Dreams Palm Beach, but you know, the reviews in tripadvisor.com can get you scared pretty quickly. Has anyone been to either of these resorts? If so what's the verdict? Any suggestions or comments are much appreciated. Btw, we attended a wedding at the Bahia Principe Bavaro and it was AMAZING!!! But since it was his sister's wedding we need something a little different...or at least a different resort. Drêssa
