  1. Jen- Thank you so much for your review and for the pics. I will be getting my hair done there and am sooooo glad that you had a good experience! So I am assuming that Itzel speaks good english?
  2. Sooo after much debate on bridesmaid flowers (they cost A LOT if they are not included in your packagae) we said no. I found and ordered these though which I thought were super cute! http://www.etsy.com/listing/51110281/custom-designed-for-you-pinwheel-wedding?ref=pr_shop
  3. Anyone heard what a day pass allows guests to do? I have a couple that are staying off property and for them to come in for the wedding, they have to pay $95 pp for a day pass.. they rea;lly should just stay at the resort one nite. But does a day pass only allow you to be on the property from certain times? Can they eat and drink? I emailed ana but she has not responded yet.
  4. Del Sol has amazinggg work and if I was rich I would have them do my wedding in a heart beat. But they are just too fricking expensive! Â We booked Cecilia Dumas and she has been awesome so far.
  5. JRCATON - Â Thank yoyu for the review!!!! Â I am going to email you too to see some pictures. I chose the moonlite package as well. Do you need to pay extra for a microphone so people could hear the ceremony on the beach?? What did you do after dinner.. did you dance at the disco or go to a bar or anything??
  6. What shoes are you girls wearing?? I'm starting to look.. I want blue flat shoes/sandals for my something blue but havent found the right pair yet.

  8. I just finished the first draft of our ceremony... I pieced it together from other ones that people have posted... here it is...   Entering of the Bride We are here today to participate in a most joyous occasion; to celebrate one of the greatest moments in life, by acknowledging the wedding of Carl and Alison. Today Carl and Alison proclaim their love to the world, and our joy and thoughts are with them. Being assured of your love as life long companions, and that you have your families blessings, I now ask, who gives this women to be married to this man? (Michael says “I doâ€) Thank you, Michael. Opening Blessing Carl, Alison, Family and Friends, I would like to welcome you to Riviera Maya, Mexico. Carl and Alison, you have known each other from the first glance of acquaintance to this point of commitment. At some point, you decided to marry. From that moment of yes to this moment of yes, indeed, you have been making promises and agreements in an informal way. All those conversations that were held riding in a car or over a meal or during long walks - all those sentences that began with “When we’re married†and continued with “I will and you will and we willâ€- those late night talks that included “someday†and “somehow†and “maybeâ€- and all those promises that are unspoken matters of the heart. All these common things, and more, are the real process of a wedding. The vows that you are about to make are a way of saying to one another, “ You know all those things we’ve promised and hoped and dreamed- well, I meant it all, every word.†Look at one another and remember this moment in time. Before this moment you have been many things to one another- best friend, companion, video game partner, and even teacher, for you have learned much from one another in these last few years. Now you shall say a few words that take you across a threshold of life, and things will never quite be the same between you. For after these vows, you shall say to the world, this- is my husband, this- is my wife. By entering into this marriage, Carl and Alison are stating publicly, the feelings, and commitments they have held privately between them. They are proclaiming their love for, their trust in and their loyalty to the one, they cherish above all others. Marriage has been described as living in love with your best friend. Love is one of the few constants in the universe. It is reality, affinity, and communication. Only love is capable of joining living beings by their deepest essence, uniting, completing, and fulfilling them. Before you are joined in marriage in my presence and before your witnesses, I am to remind you of the serious and binding nature of the relationship you are now about to enter. Are you both here of your own free will? Carl and Alison would you please face each other and join your hands. Vows Carl, as I say these words, would you please repeat after me… I love you, Alison. You are my best friend. Today I give myself to you in marriage. I promise to encourage and inspire you, to laugh with you, and to comfort you in times of sorrow and struggle. I promise to love you in good times and in bad, when life seems easy and when it seems hard, when our love is simple, and when it is an effort. I promise to cherish you, and to always hold you in highest regard. These things I give to you today, and all the days of our life. I am forever yours……faithfully. Alison, as I say these words, would you please repeat after me… I love you, Carl, You too are my best friend. The Rings The wedding ring, traditionally, is a symbol of the unbroken circle of love as it has neither a beginning nor an end. It should always remind those who wear it of the sacredness of marriage and the love that feeds it. Carl and Alison, your rings are intimately associated with your intent to honor and treasure the vows you have made today. By exchanging rings, resolve to live your vows and not to let them drift in shallow promises. Believe and trust that the words you have spoken have the capacity to create the marriage, family and life of your dreams, and that the rings you exchange will have the power to return you to your vows. These rings mark the beginning of a long journey together, wear them proudly, as they are symbols which speak of love that you have for each other…. Carl as you place this ring on Alison’s finger please repeat after me… Alison, I give you this ring, as a sign of our marriage, and a lasting reminder, of the vows made between us today. I give you this ring, as a reminder that I will love, honor, and cherish you, in all times, in all places, and in all ways, forever. Alison, if you accept please say I do… Alison as you place this ring on Carl’s finger, please repeat after me… Carl, I to give you this ring, as a sign of our marriage, and a lasting reminder, of the vows made between us today. I give you this ring, as a reminder that I will love, honor, and cherish you, in all times, in all places, and in all ways, forever. Carl, if you except, please say “I Doâ€. Engagement Ring The engagement ring is a symbol of promise and intention. Now the intention is realized and the promise fulfilled. Carl, please place the engagement ring on Alison’s finger over her wedding band to symbolize that the love that brought you together will always protect and sustain your marriage. Hand Blessing Carl, please hold Alison’s hands palms up, so you may see the gift that they are to you. These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and vibrant with love, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as she promises to passionately love you and cherish you through the years, for a lifetime of happiness. These are the hands that will work along side yours, as together you build your future, as you laugh and cry, as you share your innermost secrets and dreams. These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes: tears of sorrow and tears of joy. These are the hands that will comfort you in illness, and hold you when fear or grief engulfs your heart. And these are the hands that when wrinkled and aged will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch. Alison, will you please hold Carl’s hands, palms up, so you may feel the gift they are to you. Carl, take a look at the position of your hands with Alison’s and know that this is the last time that you will have the “upper hand.†These are the hands of your best friend, smooth, young and carefree, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as he promises to passionately love you and cherish you through the years, for a lifetime of happiness. These are the hands that will massage tension from you neck and back in the evenings after you’ve both had a long hard day. These are the hands that will hold you tight as you struggle through difficult times. These are the hands that will comfort you when you are sick, or console you when you are grieving. And these are the hands that will give you support as she encourages you to chase down your dreams. Together as a team, everything you wish for can be realized. Ladies and Gentlemen, Carl and Alison have demonstrated in your presence today, their belief in their love, and their desire to live together in Holy Matrimony. If you also believe in their love, and wish to add your blessing on their marriage today, please respond now by saying……………WE DO And are you all willing to sustain and strengthen this marriage, by giving Carl and Alison the public commitment of your love and support, through all the ups and downs ahead of them…If you are willing, please say……….WE ARE Pronouncement Now that you have joined yourselves in matrimony, may you strive always to meet this commitment, with the same spirit you now are now shining. We all bear witness to this ceremony you have just performed, and this bond that has been formed today can be broken by none. With family and friends, in front of the presence of God and his beautiful creations of the sand and sea, you may now call yourselves by those old and respected names, Husband and Wife. Carl, you may kiss the bride. Ladies and Gentlemen, I introduce to you Mr. and Mrs. Carl Groff.
  9. jenlevergood - I love that hand blessing! I have never heard of it until I started researching ceremonies. Â Â So ladies, I found my dress. They had a sample in the store I went to, so I hope it fits when I get it They would not let me take pics at the bridal shop but she gave me the magazine pic of it. It is very similar to the Maggie dress I was eyeing but this one was only $300!!! Â

  11. JRCATON --- Â thank you for your post! I am also doing the moonlight package so I am cusious on how things will turn out with the reception and all so please share your details when you get back!!!!!!!!
  12. Tinkertoy.. they have a map of the property on the fan page on facebook... but let me see if I can put it on here...
  13. Has anyone been working on their ceremony? I am almost done with mine. I will post once I am done
  14. Tinkertoy- here is a link to the invites I bought. They are really cute. Â http://www.rexcraft.com/WE_ViewEns.cfm?prev=1&TempPrev=0&blnPreviewRequestSubmitted=0&recordsperpage=32&CompletedOrder=0&sBasketID=0&sItemCode=WedEns6286&FromHome=1&Search_intTotalSearchLevel=1&Search_strInputString=1destination&Search_strInputKeywords=1destination&Search_strItemGroup=&Search_blnAccessoryCategoryPage=0&Search_blnSingle=0&alogo=1&menu=none&morethanonepage=YES&HostDomain=www%2Erexcraft%2Ecom%2F&FirstTimeThrough=1&format=WedEnsRR
  15. Thanks for all the input on ceremony times!! I eamiled Ariadna and asked to switch it to 5:30. Â tinkertoy- I booked the moonlight package and am not sure what comes with that (ceremony set up). I eamiled Ariadna and asked for pics. I just assumed that the chuppa was part of the set up but probably not.. everything costs $$$$$ Â
  16. Hey girls! What time is your ceremony?? I, at first, said I wanted 5pm. Then I emailed her and switched it to 4pm. Now I'm having second thoughts.. I want it to be sunny out but I also do not want it in the middle of the day either. Should I do 5?? I have my photographer doing 1 hour of before shots, the ceremony, then after shots. I have her for a total for 3 hours. My wedding is May 10th.
  17. I really like this dress (Maggie Sottero). But after doing some research, reviews said the dress was not as nice close up. So I will have to check it out. Davids Bridal also has the smae type of dress but Im sure for way cheaper. I will have to look at both in person. Â http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?line=d&pageSize=100&style=RD1044 Â Â http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Soft-Chiffon-A-line-with-Flower-Detail-on-Strap-WG9888_Bridal-Gowns-Features-All-Gowns
  18. Allie, Â That dress is gorgeous!! I think I will have the same thoughts though too.. I'm the type of person that books a trip and constantly looks online at rates to see if it went cheaper. And i let it ruin my day if they did. So I will be the same with the wedding dress. When I first got engaged which was over a year ago, I wanted a ball gown. Then it was a sheer empire waist dress.. now its a sheer flowey ruffle dress. My taste keeps changing and Im scared, like you, I will regret my decision. I feel your pain sista!
  19. How has the dress shopping been coming along future brides? I have been searching online but have not made it to the stores yet.. still trying to tone up a bit beofre I venture out.. even tho I had a piece of choclolate cake last nite. Guess I'm not trying very hard lol. Anyone got pictures of their dress or ideas? Â I like the dresses that are flowey and have the one strap that is made of flowers or ruffles.. maggie sottero has one. Anyone know of her prices?
  20. jglee- Â Sorry it took me so long to respond! I havent been on the site in about 2 weeks! I booked an outside photographer after much himming and hawing.. mostly due to price. The resort photographer is cheaper than Cecila Dumas and money is very much a factor to me.. so I was all set to just use the resort photographer but I came across some older reviews on here that were negitive toward Blue Lens. But what really turned me away was that I found a review that said Blue Lens created several profiles on here and posted their fake reviews to make themself look good.. then they were banned from being on here when the site found out. That was just really shady to me and I felt uncomfy using them. I see good reviews now and again for them but I just wanted to go with someones else. Â I am excited that our time over laps! You will have to give me the ins and outs!!!!! I'm nervous about flower prices too! Â Alison
  21. So I booked my trip! Yayy! It's a load off my chest! I have 4 others booked as well so far. I wanted to do it wayyyy earlier but times fly and I just noticed it was August! Crap!
