maybe we should all think of a REALLY funny situation/scenario (can be a group joke between us all) and then if we think we're going to cry, we can all just think of that to make us laugh or distract us instead....trying to stifle a laugh will distract us from all crying....hopefully!! strangely (it seems!!) I am NOT a crier....but emotional things like weddings are the one thing that does make me well up...and I think my own wedding is going to be even worse so I'm taking on all your tips!

I know I'm not in on the 'to-do's at the moment, but just for my own peace of mind, here's my update: last week was due to see ring maker to make our wedding rings but the git didn't turn up!! had a colourful conversation with him yesterday and we have rebooked for a week on Saturday....so hopefully that will be something done soon. On sunday we went to our AHR venue to talk food and managed to leave with a finalised menu and timescale, so not only is that sorted, we now know what time our reception will start and can start work on the invites I've also started working on our wedding 'brochures' for Mexico too, but I'm a perfectionist and I'm not committing to a date to finish these!! haha plus it's pretty slow moving given the small amount of time I have to actually sit down and concentrate on something! so....that's me so far!! 5 months to go, 5 months to go, 5 months to go!!!!! wooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!

I have what you would call... stage fright... I was thinking if there was a way to keep it under 10 minutes but that may be strange. I'm not doing any special anything, sand ceremony, unity candle, nothing, I just want to give him the ring and kiss and I'm out! aww Amy - I can't imagine you being shy!! lol but it is your wedding and so it should be whatever you want it to be.... DON'T FREAK but....check out your siggy...5 months and 1 week to go!! for me, tomorrow (the 2nd) is 5 months until we all fly out!!!!!!!!

I'm going to see if it goes down in a january sale or something, but if not, I'll just wait a bit longer until I order

Here is the one i was looking at: Unusual Wedding Dress - Style LWD0010-LilyWedding.com Would love suggestions. Hi Andrea, Sorry I'm a bit behind on the thread this week - It's been totally manic! but here is a link to another cheap wedding dress website - Designer Wedding Dresses and Custom Wedding Dresses by LightInTheBox There have been reviews on here about it and they have been good, and it will probably be where I get my TTD from. Happy searching!!

Sorry I just have to give a comparison here...our decorated chairs are all free with our package, and the bows are just $2 per chair... In fact the only thing extra we are having to pay for is one extra person and a vendor fee for our photographer (which is only $250 as well in comparison to AS's $500). The package cost includes everything - flowers, cocktails, open private bar for 3 hours, reception dinner, music, DJ for 3 hours etc etc...and is $1200 cheaper than the most expensive package at AS (the gold package). Just my input...but I know everyone who gets married at AS does have an amazing wedding and it's all worth it in the end!

Can the makeup artist not be a "bridesmaid" or a "groomsman" and you just pay the day pass? I honestly do not see how they would even know. If you do not want to leave the resort on your wedding day, I would just do this. How do they know your "maid of honor" isn't a makeup genius? I have been to the Mac outlet in Playa del Carmen and it is really nice and quiet there. It is in another shop, but the whole top floor is just for MAC. Just in case people were worried about what it would be like!

I am a little confused though - do we have to know when we want to go shopping in Cancun when we get there so we book on our arrival date?? (sorry if I'm being thick!!) Thanks

Nicole, when you get a chance, would you please add me to the list--May 28! I got my bridesmaid's dresses at Ross for $15, so I am super-excited about that. They are a really pretty teal color and are chiffon. I was so worried about finding a dress because all of my girls are different sizes, but they all loved the dress and thought it was very flattering. I got their jewelry at Sam Moon (omg, I am in love with that store!)--they each got a silver starfish necklace, and I also found luggage tags for all of them. My dress has come in, and I HAVE to lose 5 pounds for it to fit correctly. I'm a little worried with Thanksgiving being next week--any tips on how to stay fit during the holidays?! welcome!!! it's so exciting once you get something finally booked! sounds like you're well on your way with your plans too my main tip for not putting on the pounds is portion size - everyone tends to have big meals....just be conscious of how much you're eating...and don't have seconds!! but you have got plenty of time to lose 5 lbs!! so don't worry too much!

I am completely exhausted and have had no time to do anything. I lost my dinner cards and missed my calighraphy appointment for them. My handwriting sucks so I'm sure they are going to look crappy now. Also the paper I special ordered for my OOTs gift bag agenda insert never showed up and now is on forever backorder. I guess the only postivie/negative is that I gained three pounds last week, but my dress still fits I think it is time for some vodka and a sedative... I agree with Linz - all the things you're stressing about will not even get noticed or given a second thought by your guests. The way I'm staying calm, is as long as I've got my FI there, my dress and the registrar to marry us, nothing else is worth stressing over as it's not worth ruining the happiest day of my life. Deep breaths!! It will be great!!!!!!!!!! please just enjoy it - you don't want to spend all this time counting down and looking forward to it and then you spend the whole day stressing....deep breath and a big smile

They are all gonna look hottt they all loved the dress and they better since they picked them out , happy bridesmaids=HAPPY BRIDE! I just picked up a 4 pack of redbull today lol, im a hunters widow right now so I thought id get alot of stuff done today and tmrw. Ive been seaching for a hair stylist and make up artist in RM area that will just come to my room and work for us girls the day of... This forum had a few suggestion on the vendor page, but Im still not sold on any of them. I heard that they ppl at our resort that work in the spa are freelance employees. Im not excatly sure what that means, but my thing is if IM gonna pay those outragous spa prices for hair and make-up id hope these ppl have certfiicates and degrees in cosmotology ya know.... Also, Ive been playing around with seating chart for ceremony. Id like to do somthing different... unique? i dont know, maybe a horseshoe type seating? somthing roundish VS square? Any ideas ladies? hey Amy. love the idea you had about the bridesmaids dresses, shoes and colours...and I think the grey (sorry, gray for you lot! lol) dresses with hot pink shoes is going to look amazing!! oh, and since i've booked the wedding, I have become addicted to redbull!! for your ceremony seating, for something different, you could make it a circle with you and your FI standing in the middle so everyone's close to you? you could have 2 rows of seats and the inner circle is for your BMs, best men/ushers and parents? just another idea to play with!

Wow Amy! check you out!! well done for getting all that done! must have crossed a few things off your list now!? But what's your secret How do you seriously find time to get everthing done??!! I know you work....and work out...and plan wedding stuff, and make wedding stuff and still go out and have a life!! I am in total awe of you!! I didnt have a list of things to get done, but I have sorted out a DJ for our AHR, made an appointment with the banqueting manager to talk food options for our AHR, booked and paid tthe deposit for our photographer for Mexico and managed to sort out photos for the AHR - my little brother who'd just recently started to talk a real interest in photography and his work so far has been amazing so that's all really good! oooo that sounds quite a lot when you list it all out like that! also done a 'save the date' event invitation on facebook for our AHR so that at least people know the date and location whilst we still finalise the details needed before we can send out invites. phew! oh, and sadly, after running 3 times a week for the past 2 weeks I am now ill nothing major, just woke up this morning with a head cold which means i can't breath properly so can't even try to battle through it for a run gutted coz i dont want to have anything as an excuse for not carrying on with it. I may just go for a walk round my running route tomorrow, that way, still burning off the calories. we'll see what tomorrow brings!
