  1. I mailed my STD's! I feel like it's the first thing I have done to make the wedding official (besides say 'yes'!) I chose magnets from magnetstreet.com- they turned out really cute but they are a little smaller then I would have liked. I also started my wedding website on weddingwire.com- My TA sent me some guest prices in a PDF- but I can't figure out how to incorporate it into the website- I can only upload Jpegs...anyone have any ideas?
  2. Mitzy7- I chose the Gazebo- It is beautiful and I have never loved the idea of trying to walk in the hot sand- but I have seen pics of the beach set up and it is also gorgeous
  3. There is so much exciting news going on lately!! Josie- I hope you are feeling better! Lindsey and sammy Welcome! Sammy we are sharing the same Memorial day weekend! Good we can keep each other on track and make sure we are getting everything done on time MRS. Desiree Congats!! You look beautiful & Im so happy to hear you had a wonderful time! Jetsbride- would you mind emailing me the menus when you have a chance- [email protected] Thanks! LadyTrunck- so did you end up booking Elizabeth Medina? I will be so jealous her work is beautiful!
  4. Your pics are review are great! Thanks for sharing your experience!
  5. Wow!! Great work and great review! Enjoy your special day- you definitley deserve to savor every moment of all your planning and hard work!
  6. Your pictures are GORGEOUS!!! I love your bouquet and your dress is beautiful!
  7. My travel agent has suggested these two resorts for a honeymoon so I was hoping to get some actual feedback from anyone who has been to either or has a preference. Also does anyone know the travel time between EPM and Playa Del Carmen (our wedidng is at Riu Palace Riviera Maya)-- Thanks so much!
  8. I just stayed a week at the Riu Palace in Cabo in June and it is a perfect honeymoon spot! The staff and service is exceptional, the grounds are very well kept, the rooms were cleaned every day and the mini fridge restocked every day. It has a busier activity pool and a more quiet private pool. The nightly entertainment was enough you really never had to leave. I thought the food was very good and they have something for everyone. It was such a great place I have chosen to stick with the Riu for my wedding. You definitely can't go wrong by booking there!
  9. Josie- congrats on moving in!! I don't think the big bag would look awkard not filled up since it is part of the main gift. You could always put a big beach towel in to take up lots of room. That's awesome that you paid for your BM dresses and your doing the spa day. I would love to do the spa with my girls but my wedding is at 3 so the day of will already be a little hectic I'm sure. Katie, I think my fav oot bag item are the plastic travel mugs with a cute monogram- especially because the guests can use them for drinks instead of the hotels small cups. I also like the beach themed wine stoppers Desiree- I am so excited for you! your little ticker fish is almost to the end
  10. Josie that is So awesome!! Congrats girl! Are most of y'all changing to a different resort after the wedding for a 'honeymoon' or just staying at the same place?
  11. I'm thinking hot pink with silver and pearly white accents for now. If the BM's are in pink what color shirts should the GM wear?
  12. I noticed y'all all used different wedding websites- any suggestion on a reason to choose a particular one? (WoW I just used texas slang in typing!)
  13. I love all the new siggy pics so I had to add my own Josie I just looked at the 3 different wedding invites on my fridge right now and they all say " two thousand and nine"- that doesn't mean it has to be that way by any means- to be honest I never even noticed a difference before you pointed it out...So do whichever makes it less stressful!
  14. Congrats girls! All your hard work and info is greatly appreciated!
  15. Josie I love your STD's...I just might have to steal your idea and thanks for the bouquet/cake post- I had seen it before, but could never find it again when I went to look for it! I chose the Caprice package because I am hoping for around 50 guests but now want to change my mind to the Royal package (I think the # of guests listed on the package only applies to the cake and wine toast- but correct me if I'm wrong) so hopefully that will go over ok. Also, does anyone know if you can get a script of what the minister is going to say during the ceremony, or can you give him some ideas of what you would like said? and is it in English??
  16. Samira- congrats on the date! Let me know if they request any deposit from you- I personally would feel better that my date and time won't get double booked if I could put down a deposit. I haven't decided on STD's- I have seen some really cute passport ones on this forum, but Ill probably do something much easier such as a postcard or magnet. And I'm not planning on taking engagement photos so they might just be beach themed... Desiree- 1 month to go!!! So exciting!
  17. Samira~ Welcome and congrats! I am also planning on a wedding next May- my travel agent has given me prices that don't include airfare and are... 3 nights- $580, 4 nt $754, 5 nt $934, 7 nt $1289- to reserve these rates I can book each room with a $150 deposit- but I have not even sent out my STD's yet and dont plan on reserving rooms- I will just let everyone know asap. SDbeachgirl~ Hello I think they are pretty serious about the 80% occupancy and wouldn't want to risk it. I dont plan on offering any other resorts as options to my guests.
  18. Desiree I'm a Htown girl too! Small world Could you send me the spa info as well, Thanks! [email protected]
