  1. I voted for dress 2, but I agree, that you should go with what you love and what looks best on your shape! Pics would help us make a decision!!
  2. Thanks ladies! I've emailed one of the BDW TA's for advice. To make things a little more complicated, my current TA is a friend...eeek...
  3. So my TA gives us a rate for our resort, (Dreams La Romana) and says that the supplier will only guarantee the rate for the next 4 days - so guests interested in booking with our group at this rate, must put down their deposit ($150) by Monday. Ok, not a huge deal... except that a) our TA who is supposed to do the collecting is in Vegas for a wedding and the balance of the payment for the full cost of the trip is due by the end of August. So I've set up an evite to let everyone know the situation and quite a few people are saying that it's too quick to have to put down a desposit and August is too early to pay the full trip cost. Is this the normal procedure for booking groups? I feel like it's a pressure tactic, but really, if the supplier gave us a little bit more time, more people would be likely to book with us! Am I just naive to the world of booking travel?? I am starting to super stress out and can't wait for this to all be settled!
  4. All I can say is WOW WOW WOW! What a planning thread! LOVE the table # people!!! I even showed my FI and he even said WOW! Great job!
  5. Hehehe, what can I say, it's an ADDICTIVE site! Welcome, pea! (ps you have a LOT of points already considering you only have 1 post!)
  6. Looks beautiful! But I'm not a fan of red...wonder if they would let you remove/change the pieces in red...?
  7. Sounds like we're all in the same boat! My parents were NOT happy with our choice at first...I told them unless they wanted to pay for a local wedding, I didn't want to hear their complaining for the next year, if they were so against it, don't come! But I was torn because I'm very close to my 96 year old Grandad and I feel terrible that he won't be able to be there. However, we decided to make him the 'best man' for the legal marriage here in Toronto. He is super excited about it and it's all he can talk about now. It's your wedding and as hard as it seems, do what YOU want! Good luck
  8. I like the Neutrogena aerosol spray. I also add a little bit of Life Brand (Cdn brand) bronzing cream to my regular body lotion. Rub it in really well and use a hair dryer on myself for a minute. Even I can't believe how natural it looks - until it starts wearing off of course... then it gets a little patchy, but you just have to exfoliate really well and start over! Or if you really want to go all out, try a Mystic Spray Tan. It's about $30, but usually well worth it. Whatever you chose will require lots of practise! I have had my fair share of 'OOPS!' experiences!!
  9. I agree with JetsBride: B2B - tylersgirl Mrs- Amarillis Very sweet and helpful ladies to us Noobs!
  10. hahah MEN! you have to keep on top of them for EVERYTHING!
  11. Strange how weddings change people! I've been noticing the same things... Odd that she hasn't booked yet though, there's obviously something that's making her drag her feet... maybe she's strapped for cash and feeling frustrated about it?? The only way you'll know for sure is to have another heart to heart with her and try to hash things out. Otherwise ---> Good luck!
  12. What's the leg magic machine? I'm intrigued!
  13. Thanks for the detailed review! Helping me make some decisions I'd love to see some pics!!
  14. Gorgeous! I say no necklace as well. The earrings are stunning enough!
  15. Great review and pics! Congratulations! Can you tell me where your bridesmaid's dress is from? Thanks!
  16. Has anyone gotten pricing from Ontario, (Canada) to DPB or DPC? I spoke to my travel agent yesterday and he said both Dreams properties are coming in at a really high price and are way out of my budget I really don't want my guests going broke over our wedding because I know they will come no matter what!
  17. Nice! Not traditionally what you would think for a DW, but it's very chic. And I guess with a DW, anything goes!

  19. #2 def matches the earrings best. #1 is nice and bling bling, but #3 isn't very wedding-ish IMO
  20. I'm not doing them either... I'm creating a wedding website where everyone can get the required information, but I don't think I'll be sending anything paper out. That just suits our personalities best and I don't think anyone we're inviting would care for an invitation that they'll just throw out. I considered making a few for the older folks though... that's a definite DIY project since there's only about 1-2 people that would keep an invitation as a keepsake.
  21. I love that idea! but then I read a thread from another bride - who's going to pick them all up after since they're not biodegradable? or are they?
