Since I'm one of the first brides for 2010 (March 15) I would take the stuff down to the DR in extra suitcases and we could split that cost as well. For example, I want to do tangerine/fuschia paper lanterns inside the Gazebo and potentially hanging from the ceiling in the SSG. I also want to do rectangle tables and have white ceramic square vases with bunches of flowers in them. I think fuschia or coral orange silk table runners would be great over the simple white linens. Finally, I think silver chargers would be good and I'm not sure if Tiara can offer those. I'm also planning on using starfish as a decorative item. I tried to post some pics to give some idea of what I'm thinking but I am technically challenged when it comes to using this site. If you're interested in sharing some stuff, please email directly [email protected] and we can talk more. Thanks! Bridget Hey Bridget! That's actually something that Dolfinluck and I had been contemplating as well! I think it's a great idea. We had looked at the organza chair sashes/runners on this site: 8x108 Organza Sash - Fuchsia50509(10pcs/pk) (those are just the fuscia ones, I would like a mix of orange and fuscia) Their prices seems pretty good, but if you have any other sites/suggestions that'd be great! I like your other ideas as well! I would definitely like to work together to share some decor! If you could email me some of your pics that'd be great! -
So every Sunday, FI and I go check out the progress of our new house which is being built and closing in June 2010. They're making great progress and it's exciting to see all the changes that get done each week... Except this week... We're checking out the basement and the dog keeps going into the cold cellar and sniffing around.. I start to wonder what's in there that he's so interested in, so I go to check it out. To my absolute disgust, there was human feces sprayed on the wall and a huge pile on the floor surrounded by toilet paper! HOW DISGUSTING!!! I am now hearing from others that this is fairly common and my co-worker actually caught the worker doing it in her new house on the actual plywood, but seriously?! That is absolutely barbaric! There are portapotties all over the street, why do they have to take a dump right in your house?!? I am SO furious, but everyone is telling me not to call the builder to complain because who knows what else (or where else) they may do the same or worse!! And they will lock us out so we can't see what's going on inside at all.... What would you do??

There is also a thread somewhere where girls have given great reviews on them. -
Back to worky But, I went and got my Sorel boots today so I'll never be wet footed again while shovelling the snow!

IMPPEARL's Planning Thread!!

Oh, I am SO excited to read your planning thread! I LOVE everything! Congrats!!! -
Nadia, Since we're in the same general area, I thought I'd share - The only place I was able to find the netting for the bc veil in Toronto was down on Queen West in the fabric district (just west of Spadina). I went to Sussman's Bridal and they only have 9" width, so I'll have to sew two pieces together to get the full veil effect. I'll let you know how the veil making process goes!

omgsh, I saw a device the other day and thought, wow, that is a total knock off of the good ol' ThighMaster! Wish I could remember which store I saw that in... I think it may have been Winners (the US equivalent would be Marshall's or Ross') I actually just use my exercise ball and squeeze it between my thighs. Gives the same effect and you can use the ball for all kinds of other exercises.

Uh oh, no dancing at the SSG? I don't know why, I just assumed there was... I wonder if you're renting out the entire space, is there enough room to have some of the tables removed and make room for a dancefloor? Could you check into that when you go Nadia? Maybe take some pictures so we can see how big it is? Thanks! Eeee, I'm so excited for you to go and report back with all your findings!! heehee I feel like I'm going or something! -
I bought an orchid stem from Hobby Lobby in the US and a variety of feathers (different lengths/sizes) at a fabric store here in Toronto and I am planning to make my own feather/flower fascinator. I think the way to tackle this is to start with the base. I am planning to buy some white felt or something a bit stiffer and then carefully attach (with a glue gun) the feathers of varying lengths and then 3 orchid blooms. Lastly you will have to attach the clip that will hold it in your hair to the base. I bought extras of everything in case I need to start with a 'practice' one! I'll let you know how it goes when I finally get started!

Thanks!! Unfortunately I'm not that talented! I couldn't even figure out how to make a monogram after reading the instructions on here A graphic designer friend of ours made it for me after I told her our colours and the style I was looking for. I LOVE it! -

Oh awesome!! I can't wait to hear all about it!! -
My FI is the one that doesn't want to see it until the big day. I had it (in it's dress bag) hanging up in our storage area and he freaked out. He said what if I accidentally knocked it down and the bag fell open or something?? LOL So he made me hide it in my parent's place. But there are always so many FI's with their brides on 'Say Yes to the Dress', I'm always very surprised.

Attendant gift?

I vote for the wristlet. I use a Coach wristlet as my everyday wallet, so I get tons of use out of it. I like clear, plastic, cheap for cosmetics bags because they get dirty and I sometimes need to turn it upside down just to see what's in it!! IMO, they'd get more use out of the wristlet.
