  1. I've been to Maui in late February, early March, April, May and June. The weather in Maui only varies a few degrees throughout the year. I actually found that I liked the weather better in Feb, March and April than in May and June. It didn't rain at all while I was there in Feb, March or April (and actually rained some this past May when I was there) and was less windy (when I went in June a year ago it was hot and really, really windy). I think it all depends on the week, though. If I had a choice I would have planned by wedding for March or April - since I thought the weather was so great those months. However, with school, etc, I'm having to plan it in August. It seems to be much more expensive to fly to Maui during the summer months.
  2. Congratulations Jordana! This forum has been a lifesaver for me. It's given lots of support and ideas that I really needed! Have a great time planning your wedding!!!!

  4. Congratulations Paula! How exciting!
  5. Congratulations on your engagement! A DW is a little scary - planning it from afar - but it also really takes the pressure off! I'm the same way - never wanted a traditional wedding. A DW is the the perfect plan!
  6. Welcome and congrats! There's so much information and support on this forum!
  7. Congrats on the engagement and welcome! This is a great forum!
  8. Looks amazing. SO much stuff that your guests will appreciate!
  9. Those are so great! I would have never thought to put such cute wording on the back! I love it!
  10. I watched it! Holy smokes, when she cried - you could really see the plastic surgery.....it's really sad because she can never go back. I agree with her mom - I hope it softens and she looks less like Joan Rivers....but I don't think that's how it works.
  11. Welcome to the forum Wendy! I'm sure you'll find lots of information about wedding locations on this site. Look at some of the wedding reviews. I'm getting married in Maui, not the Caribbean, but I chose my wedding site (the Marriott) based on a wedding review posted by someone on this forum. Her pictures and description just sold me! So I'd highly recommend reading some wedding reviews. When I first started planning my wedding I knew I wanted to get married in Hawaii, but I didn't know which island. I chose Maui because a lot of my guests have never been to Hawaii and I thought Maui was the best "first island" to visit. So I picked it based on what island I thought my guests just HAD to visit. Good luck with everything!
  12. Hey Shannon! Welcome! I've found one of the benefits of planning a destination wedding is that it's about 1/4th of the cost of a local wedding (maybe even less). Not only is the general cost of the wedding less, but fewer guests will attend (that is, I don't have to invite a lot of acquaintances I'd feel pressured to invite if I had a local wedding - just family and close friends). I'm getting married in Maui in August and have found their site fees and restaurant prices really reasonable. There are a lot of brides on this forum who are budgeting so it's been really helpful for me!
  13. Congratulations! That sounds amazing!
  14. I'm doing boarding pass invites and using Jessica form the Stylish Scribe and asked for a bunch of extra stuff and they were only about $4.50 each (without all of the extras they would have been only $3.75 each). Jessica is amazing and made several different styles and was really accommodating. The Stylish Scribe, LLC Custom Invitation Design in Reno, Nevada
  15. I chose the island of Maui for my wedding because a number of people in my family have never been to Hawaii and I thought Maui was the best Hawaiian island for them to visit first. I love Maui becuase it's not as busy as Oahu and not as quiet as Kauai. I agree that "vacation rentals by owner" is a great resource to rent a condo on Maui. My favorite places to stay are two condo complexes on Sugar Beach - Kealia Resort (Kealia Resort | Kealia Sugar Beach Maui | Kealia Condos) and the Sugar Beach Resort. They're right on the beach in a very quiet area.
