I was having the same concerns/issues as you! I orginally wanted aqua and brown, however my cousin had those colors for her wedding last year. So then I was thinking pink and brown, and was pretty much set on that one. This will tell you how confused I was, then I found glasses that were clear with a cute blue starfish on them. I thought this would be perfect with some flowers for our centerpieces. So when it is all said and done we are doing an aqua blue, light lime green, and purple. May sound a little out there, but the colors really look good together! Good luck!

What about one of the Sandals resorts? I do not know how much they are but that is an idea. We are going to Breezes Runaway Bay that has a free wedding package that you would qualify for. It is very affordable. Good luck

I think your wedding blog is a great idea, as guests are able to see how your planning is going and feel up to date on events that may occur. I would definitely put the essentials, date, place, time, what to bring, what to wear, agenda if you have one, things to do in the area, etc...

Elope and have your honeymoon! :-) I would not bring up finances though, I would simply put it that you are having a private ceremony but once you return there will be a party to celebrate. We are having a few friends and family members join us for the wedding, but the majority of our family (including my father) and friends are unable to attend. We are going to have a luau in the backyard a month or so after we get back. I would say the shower is out, for the same reason Mowife said...your bridesmaids usually throw it before your wedding. Although one of your friends could still offer...

I just read the article and found it to be very interesting. I too have heard many stories and have read other articles, so I am sure the truth lies within all of them somewhere and to some extent. I feel sorry for the family members and friends of the family for being pushed away due to money or whatever reason it may be. I believe the children are the ones that will end up suffering in the end. Being in the public eye at that age is something they will never get away from, no privacy! If the stories are true about their marriage being rocky, it is because of the show...I cannot imagine how hard it would be to take care of 8 kids and deal with the camera every single day...money or not.

I would suggest using hotwire.com. We stayed at the Sheraton on Magnificent Mile about a month ago for $90 on a weekend night! One of my co-workers told me to try it, using a 4 star or higher...worked beautifully...we saved over $150/night!! She only books hotels through hotwire...just thought I would throw out another option for you! Good luck...you will have a blast!

Ok ladies, I am in desperate need of your advice! So we are trying to stay on a budget but I want an absolutely gorgeous wedding! We are bringing his two children which will be 13.5 and 14.5 years old (tell you about .5 in sec). We are guessing there will be between 20-30 guests attending the wedding. Now we were looking at BRB because it is more affordable and the wedding is included...however I am nervous about the rooms and the resort since it is older. Also, the bigger issue...it is 14 and older!! Yikes! It would be really bad if we got down there and the youngest couldn't stay because of his age. So I started looking at Iberostar Rose Hall and it looks gorgeous and allows children. With that said, I am now very nervous about the price of the wedding itself getting to high. Any comments and/or advice would be greatly appreciated. I am driving myself and all my friends and family nuts! Different location different day!

I agree, I think all fabrics can hold up to water...however the chlorine and/or salt water has the potential to weaken the fabric. That is more or less if you never rinse or clean it afterwards. I have had a silk dress that was squirted with water at a party (long story) anywho, at first it left a stain but I got it cleaned and now you would never know. As stated previously, I would only do what you are comfy with. Otherwise you will not be able to let loose, you will be too worried about your dress. I am going back and forth on using my ceremony dress or just getting a cheap but cute dress.

I am so sorry to hear about your experience!! As bad as you felt writing the review, you shouldn't! You had a bad experience and wanted to save others from having a similar one. I hope you get your deposit back...along with an apology!! Good luck!
