  1. I'm in this boat too. We're getting married in Jan 2010. We've been searching for a tan coloured suit for my hubby to be but haven't had much luck to date. We're only having one groomsman, so we're just going to ask him to wear tan coloured pants and a white shirt. I'm sure he's already got some of his own.
  2. Hi Ladies! Here are a few pics of me in my dress. This was actually the sample dress. Dress Pics.doc Dress Pic 2.doc Dress Pic 3.doc
  3. Everything looks so great! It must feel good to have nearly finished everything. I'm definitely going to borrow some of your postcard ideas.
  4. Thanks again for all the guidance ladies! I've posted a custom request on etsy to see what I can find, but I'm leaning towards this set as I think it's delicate enough to go with my gown. wedding jewlery.doc
  5. I'm going with a wedge myself as I want to be able to wear heels with my dress at our AHR. I've just ordered this pair from coloriffics. https://www.coloriffics.com/detail.p...ICTORIA&type=W I read the reviews, and they all seem to be great! They also have a similar pair that I was considering. https://www.coloriffics.com/detail.p...=CILENA&type=w
  6. Thanks for the feedback everyone- I really appreciate it!
  7. Hi Ladies! I have been debating for moths now as to what type of jewlery I should get to wear with my wedding gown. After countless hours on etsy, I am still empty handed so I'm hoping to get some opinions as to what I should wear. I am leaning towards not wearing a necklace as there is a fair amount of detail and beading on the bust of my dress but I'm really not sure. Thoughts?? I have attached some pics of me in my dress and of the hair style I'm going to have) to give you an idea as to what everything will look like. I have found a few pairs of earrings on etsy that I like but I'm so lost! 10. Hi There, I am a St. Thomas Bride as well. Happy to help if you have specific questions!

  12. I'm only having one BM (my sister) and she is paying for her own dress, but I'll be getting her jewlery, shoes, and other accessories to go with it.
  13. I was wondering why I wasn't able to download things anymore myself. It all makes sense now.
  14. My Fiancé has been letting me take the lead in terms of planning. If he had his way, we'd be going to city hall and getting married there. A small destination wedding/honeymoon combination was a compromise. I've been doing the bulk of the planning and looping him in with my thoughts/ideas as we go to get his input. I've also tasked him with booking our flights and hotel the night before our cruise so he's responsible for that (and applying for our marriage licence). He's very willing to help which is good but he also realizes how excited I am to be planning everything so he's happy to let me take the lead. I've gotten a lot of DIY ideas from this forum too, and my Fiancé has also been quite impressed by how much I've been making on my own. The planning process has been quite smooth for us to be honest. Selecting the cruise we wanted to get married on was the most challenging part. We're both looking forward to our wedding in January. I'm not quite sure what I'll do with my time when it's all over! Thanks again for starting this thread! It's nice to have someone you can relate to.
  15. Hi! So nice to find other military brides. My Fiancé is a helicopter pilot in the Canadian Air Force. For the first two years that we were dating he was still in training, and we were living in different provinces and timezones. We only saw eachother once every 6 weeks or so for 2 days at a time. Now that he's been posted to Halifax, we'll be staying here together for a few years. Although he will be required to join the Navy Ships periodically when they go out to sea. I don't enjoy when he goes away either but I've had 2 years to get used to being alone I suppose you could say. I'm just taking one day at a time and enjoying each moment that I get to share with him.
  16. Sounds like you've got everything quite organized! I'm with you on spending on the OOT bags rather than on decor. With the cruise port weddings, you're there for such a short period of time that the decor isn't really a big focus anyhow (apart from the ceremony area itself). You might find that the coordinator takes care of table decor on your behalf as well (if you're using one).
  17. What a great idea! Hair flowers seem so expensive to purchase online. I'm going to give this a go myself.
  18. Hi Becki, Unfortunately I'm not much help to you as we won't really be having a sit-down reception for our cruise port wedding. We will be getting married on the beacu and having hors d'oevres and cake and champagne and an open bar for a couple of hours but we won't really have formal it-down tables, just the chairs from our ceremony. Our "reception" is going to be in the form of a dinner in one of the private restaurants on the ship followed by dancing in one of the bars plus at at home reception upon our return. I would suggest partnering with your wedding coordinator to see what they have seen in the past. I would recommend something simple and practical like what you have suggested above as you don't want to be lugging a lot of things in your suitcase I assume. It might also be worthwhile to chech with your coordinator to see if having local flowers is an option. That way you don't have to bring anything with you. Best of luck! Kerri
  19. That dress looks gorgeous! I love the detail with the flower. Curious to see your other dress as well.
