  1. starlitk, thank you so much for sharing your photos. you look gorgeous and the images really capture the emotion and energy of your day And thanks for renewing my excitement to get married in such a breathtaking environment!
  2. Heard of Jenny Yoo? She has amazing, beautifully made gowns that are simple and modern. There are some styles may meet your requirements, I tried on the Mira Long myself and came THISCLOSE to buying it. check out the website, there's a showroom in LA you could visit Jenny Yoo Collection
  3. ooh I love short dresses! Before we decided on a DW we considered a hometown garden wedding... and if we had done that, I definitely would have chosen a short dress! When we decided on a beach wedding, I was more drawn to full-length gowns for that setting. However, I do think a short dress would be amazing for a casual beach event. If you're into the 50's style tea-length, Candy Anthony makes amazing gowns, though pricey. Dolly Couture is a more affordable option, though the fabrics are synthetic. Priscilla of Boston also makes gorgeous short gowns.
  4. KarenM, that bcbg dress is my dress! I just wanted to tell you that it's FABULOUS. I happened upon it at my local bcbg store. My dry-eyed sister, who has witnessed the trying on of 20-plus dresses, cried when I came out of the dressing room wearing it. It's beautiful and flowy, classic but kinda hip with that subtle stripe pattern. I hope you love it too
  5. I'm sorry to hear about the negative experiences you had, Starlit and Mixie. Of course it makes me feel nervous about what to expect... our wedding is not until next June, and I hope these issues aren't a sign that quality is "trending downward" at DT. You know, I always wonder if vendors/business are aware of forums like this that review their services, and if they read them for feedback. If so, Dreams Tulum, I suggest you pay attention to the reviews of these two brides and get it together!

  7. Hi DT Brides- I remember reading somewhere that some of the rooms at the resort don't have air conditioning. Is this true?
  8. Hello Everyone! I'm a bit confused about the transportation from Cancun Airport to the resort for our guests. Am I correct in understanding that there is no FREE option? In other words, there is no free shuttle that runs from the airport to the resort? I got some info from our TA stating that private transport is recommended, as shared shuttle service is not always available. The info states the costs for private transport ($300 roundtrip for 1-7 people in a van) as well as for shared shuttle service ($55 per person, minimum of 2 passengers). I'm not totally clear on what the difference is. If there is in fact no free option, which type of transportation are others opting for? Private van, or shared shuttle? Are the brides here paying for guest transport, or just having guests pick up the costs themselves? Thanks all!
  9. whew! I finally got this baby booked! Our wedding will be June 19, 2010, 3:00pm. so excited

How many people are you expecting to have attend? I was a bit disappointed because I had wanted a prived event at the seaside grill (extra $750 fee) but since I am expecting less than 50 ppl, I can't have it there Keep me posted! I did hear back from the TA and it looks like we'll need to send our documents to the resort directly to hold the wedding date. I'll be working on it this weekend and hopefully will get the date finalized! We're flexible so we could always have the wedding on a different Saturday, but I agree, it would be nice to meet up if our celebrations are on the same day Did you choose a time for your ceremony? We're expecting about 25 guests so will likely do the reception at an outdoor location and avoid the private event fee... I think the pool terrace is considered an "outdoor" option. I like that idea.
  11. Bella- Congrats on securing your wedding date! I've hit a bit of a snag.. my finace is uncomfortable emailing scans of his credit card and our IDs as an unsecured email attachment to the resort. I've been trying to get in touch with Tammy from BDW (who we're using to block out rooms for our guests) to see if she can assist us with the process, though I haven't heard back from her yet on this particular issue. So, our date is not confirmed yet
  12. Hi All- A simple question... I'm ready to put down the deposit at Dream Tulum for our wedding on June 5, 2010. I've been communicating with Aurora, but I'm not sure if I'm suppposed to fax or email the forms she's requesting? Does anyone know? Apparently I'm suuposed to scan our credit card and IDs but I don't know the appropriate way to get that info to her. Thanks in advance
