We had talked about getting engaged, but the only thing I ever told him about getting me a ring was that I didn't want it to be a big diamond that I'm going to end up banging into everything. I think he did a great job...I love my ring!

They're both pretty, but I was going to vote for number 1 before I saw that you made your decision. :-)

Neither of us have been on a cruise, but we've both spent a lot of time in NYC (we're getting married on embarkation day)....so maybe we're going on 1/2 blind faith lol.

Just want to wish you luck! We decided on a cruise wedding because I knew we'd never get married if I had to find a resort lol! I'm a high heel girl too, so we're getting married on the ship.

I got laid off last month, but it doesn't take effect until September because I'm a teacher. I've been told they'll be re-hiring most of us (there were 18 of us) but I may not hear anything until July or August so not knowing is tough. Like others have said, everything happens for a reason!

We're doing a cruise wedding. We're going to get married in port in NYC and then sailing to Puerto Rico, St. Thomas and Grand Turk. Our wedding package is about $2200 which includes tax, ceremony and open bar/buffet reception for 1 hour for up to 20 people and photographer. Each additional person we add is $22 per person but that gets paid a few weeks before the cruise. Picture packages are also additional, up to $3,000. Our cruise starts at $859 per person plus tax, so for our room and the ceremony/reception, it will be less than $5,000. We decided on a cruise rather than an AI resort because we have 3 teenage brothers between us, and there will be more for them to do on a cruise.

I was wondering the same thing! We met in February '06, officially got together in February '08 and got engaged in February '09. I'm a teacher, and we want to do a cruise wedding, so it has to be in the summer while I'm off. We're getting married in August '10, and I was thinking of doing the AHR in February '11...six months later. I'm glad I'm not the only one waiting so long!

I'm getting married in port in NY, and we have to be there by 10:30 a.m. My aunt is going to do my hair very early that morning, but I need to find someone to do my makeup. I rarely even wear mascara, so I can't do my own and would really like a professional to do it. I have a year, but I'm wondering if anyone knew of make-up artists who would be able to come to my house in Jersey or to the port in NY to do my make-up before we board the ship. Thanks!
