  1. Thanks everyone! Ceci....My friend is a TA so we're going through her. She put together a great payment plan for my guests so that they can make payments until the final payment is due in June 2010. We're also getting the room credit and wine in every room...and every 16th person is free! Carnival uses their own WC's and "A Wedding for You" for the ceremony. I'm glad I don't have to deal with TWE, because I've heard the stories! The Carnival WC's aren't very responsive from what I hear, but my TA friend is also an event planner.
  2. I'm 5'1" and my waist is about a size 9/10 but I have a 14" difference between waist and hips. I have to buy a size 14 petite in pants for work because otherwise they're too tight in the thighs, but even the petite pants are too long for me! I hate going shopping for pants!
  3. For an 8 day cruise from NYC to Puerto Rico, St. Thomas and Grand Turk, our guests are paying from $1200-$1500 depending on the cabin they choose. This includes all taxes, port charges, travel insurance and gratuities.
  4. Your dress is going to be beautiful! And so special since your aunt is making it! I can't wait to see more pics!
  5. Welcome to BDW, and congratulations!
  6. Congratulations and welcome! I got engaged a week after you!
  7. Welcome! St. Thomas is one of our ports on our wedding cruise!
  8. What a sweet aunt! Ally is lucky to have you! Welcome to BDW!
  9. Congratulations and welcome! This is a great place to find any information you need!
  10. We chose to do a cruise wedding because most of our guests are in driving distance of the cruise port. We also wanted the option of being able to invite people who cannot go on the cruise (elderly relatives). We're getting married in port before the cruise leaves the dock so we'll have the entire cruise to enjoy with our guests. We both have teenage brothers, and several of our guests have children, so we thought a cruise would be the best option for them as well because of the activities available for all ages.
  11. Wow 2 months away! Congratulations! You must be sooo excited! I can't wait and it's still over a year away! Are you leaving from NYC?
  12. Thanks! Carnival...we're getting sailing on the Miracle, which is so fitting for us...we've been through a lot and it was divine intervention that kept bringing us back together...so it's a miracle we're getting married!
  13. We dated on and off for 2 years, and then we were together for one year after that...so a total of 3 years before he proposed, and we'll have been together 4 and a half when we get married.
  14. We booked today, and I'll be sending out our save the dates next week because the first deposit through our TA is July 11th.
  15. We just booked our cruise and wedding package, and I was able to get the last spot for embarkation day! Now it feels sooooo much more real!
  16. Carnival in NYC uses another company instead of TWE, but they provide a WC too. I think I'll just include the time they have to be at the port, because I'm sure my non-sailing guests will end up being late if I say the actual ceremony time.
  17. I reaaaallly wanted to do pink and turquoise, but then I decided that I wanted to wear my grandmother's ruby and diamond jewelry, so my colors are red, white and black. The girls are wearing black dresses and will be carrying red gerber daisies.
  18. I'm going through Carnival, and we won't find out the time of the ceremony until 2 weeks before the wedding. I do know that we have to be at the dock by 10:30...should I put that time on the invitation instead of the ceremony time?
  19. I love all of your shoes! I still have a year, but I know finding just one pair is going to be the hardest part...I have a shoe obsession...over 100 pairs.
  20. I'm getting married out of NYC, and we have to be there at 10:30 a.m. as well. I'll probably go to my aunt's house in Brooklyn very early that morning because she's doing my hair, and have someone who does makeup meet me at my aunt's house. Maybe you could ask at a local hair school or salon if anyone is available to do your hair that morning?
  21. I'm getting married in port through Carnival and their wedding packages include a reception. The one we chose is for ceremony and 1 hr open bar buffet reception for up to 20 people with the option of adding additional people.
