  2. Lets see that is tricky. They say 6-8 weeks is etiquette. Did you send STD's so your guests know about your upcoming DW? Our wedding is 1.23.2010 and we sent them out the 2nd week of october. We had our RSVP date as November 15th. Which still leaves 2 months really. We sent them a little early.. and I forget why. I would say send yours out the 2nd or 3rd week of January and that way the holidays are all over with. And people are focused on your invite. And then put an RSVP date for end of February ish/beginnning of March.

I will be rearranging some things lol..... I have already started looking at ways to do things differently and how we can cut cost in other areas. I have discussed this with my family and they are willing to help with anything necessary to make this work. I do think it will be super fun with alot of people and we will have the time of our lives. I don't want anyone to think I am not happy or grateful for all the love that are family and friends have for me and FI... and it truly is a blessing. It is just very stressful sometimes when plans change, whether its money, location or details, etc.... I love this forum because it allows us to encourage each other and helps us get through the stressful times. thank you all for the advice it really has help me. I feel confident that things will work out and I will not be cutting booking off. Is this an AI resort? Personally I do not think you need a welcome dinner. I mean if you need to cut costs. Start with the welcome dinner and follow by excursions. I think it is great idea to a do a excursion all together but people also dont want you planning their vacation for them and it is a great way to cut costs. Instead do a volleyball tournament or something fun that involves everyone and not a lot of money aka budget breaker. I would also do one or other a sfor favors or OOT bags. They dont need both really. JMO! good luck

My other friend who got married in Aruba invited 300 and she got 35 guest that attended, you invited 200 and got 27. so i thought i was ok with sending out 150 STD's. I am very happy that so many peolple want to be apart of our day, its just hard trying to re-evaluate what I planned and money also plays apart of course, it just adds more stress to the already stressful wedding planning lol..... but I think in the end whats going to happen is, the booking won't be cut off and we will get additional help from our parents if the budget becomes overwhelming Def. That is what we have booked right now is the 27 and waiting for a few more. But I def didnt know what to expect. And I know what you mean by being unsure. I think I may be confused in where all your costs are going to? Like why so expensive? Are you and FI paying for everyones trips?

  13. We didnt use a travel agent and so far so great! Everything is working out for us. I guess its just a preference. I have used travel agents before. They just don't seem as easy to come by as they used to be. Unless you are on here and there a quite a few on here so thats great also! Its sixes I guess and just your personal preference.

HI Victoria! Welcome to the forum! Congrats and happy planning!
  16. HI! I dont think you should cut off at all. You sent out STD asking these people to come celebrate your special day and now you want to cap it off. I think it is a big no no. Other people would be elated to have that many people coming to their special day. And I know it may hurt your budget but think about all the fun you will have in the end. We invited 200 people to our DW and have 27 confirmed guests. Good Luck!
