Martha! Hi there! Welcome to the lovely world of thyroids!!! My biggest pet peeve is when someone walks up to me at work or out in public and says "Gee your neck is REAAALLY swollen" and my response in my head is oh well gee thanks! I have under active thyroid, cysts and nodules on my thyroid,insulin resistance, and PCOS. And some how they are all related. The kicker is my first doctor told me there was nothing wrong and even if there was she could not help me because I was too young! 23 at the time!!! So I ended up finding an amazing doctor who had to put me on all these different meds, one being synthroid 75mcg, which ended up shrinking my nodules and reduced the size of my thyroid all together and I was recently tested and my blood work came back normal but usually my blood work comes back normal and my ultrasound doesnt. But since I have seen her things have kept up pretty well..knock on wood! Seems like you have thins under control, just keep a super close eye on it. They can go nutty anytime they want too!

I would continue to call Davids Bridal coorporate office DAILY until you are happy with the out come. I can NOT stand when companies pull this sort of crap and then get away with it!! It is beyond frustrating!!! After I had purchased my maggie dress from another wedding boutique, I headed to Davids to check out the bridesmaid dresses I was in love with. IT WAS LITERALLY I CLUSTER/MOB/CRAZINESS of women, dresses, children, people.. I almost felt trashy being in there. Not for anyone to take offense to that but these poor women were having to lace up their own dresses, the employees were not listening to the brides and I was so dis satisfied with what was going on behind those doors! Now Im in the process of trying to find other BM dresses, Im too afraid to work with Davids. and you are def. not the first person to give a bad review! good luck to you it will all work out!!

hmm that is a toughy!! They are both very pretty on you. I think I like #2 better but then I look at #1 and like that one too!!! They say all sales final but if you bought it off the rack then you may be in luck. OK so you bought #1 bc you loved it but you still love #2? I had somewhat of the same issue! I ended up staying with my #1! in your heart you will know. I know that is hard to believe but I went back and tried on 12 more dresses and ended back up in my number 1!

AI was totally the perfect choice for us as well! No money, no tipping, no credit cards, no traveler checks, just go and enjoy!!!! What could be better than that! OUr friends did AI for their wedding and it was perfect! Food, drinks, entertainment, activities, your room, all included! And with that you get a free weddingmoon package..yippeee!!! I think a lot of our guests like this feature as well... even though at first a few people were skeptical, they are totally into it!! Good luck on your choice!!Do what works best for you! and your guests!

Hi there!! I was actually looking into hiring a cigar roller for our almost married reception this august back home in CT! I actually have to call them today to see what the cost would be. They make a special label for your day and roll right there at your wedding, and then label them with your personalized label. So we will see. I didnt think I could get one for the DW so I thought the AHR would be a perfect place to do so.

Also Im not sure which program you were doing before.. but my mother and some friends did nutri systems and they LOVED IT!!!!! and had amazing results!!!!!

If you set too high of a goal and you dont reach it, it will be such a let down! Believe me I have been there, done that, not worth it. You're amazing!!!

MANDY- Hey Girl congrats on the 60 pounds that is amazing!!!! I have PCOS as well (polycystic ovarian syndrome) underactive thyroid, cysts and nodules on that bad boy too, my body produces too much insulin and tons of other crap and I TOTALLY FEEL YOUR PAIN!!!!!!!!I had an eating disorder in highschool and weighed 108 pounds at my lowest on my 5'8 height, I looked like a 8 year old with a huge head and it was sad because I thought I was still fat. I have A horrible DISTORTED BODY IMAGE, I relapsed 3 years ago and lost 65 pounds and it is just so hard, once your body hits the peak of a weight gain your fat cells always want to be that wEIGHT. After a long long long struggle which we found out rooted back to my elementary school days, I decided to get the lap band. And I am really really happy with it!!!!! I was working out everyday and eating right and gaining weight and that is the worst feeling ever. I love my lap band because it keeps me in control. I am currently doing the HCG diet to get rid of the un neccessary fat I can never get rid of! and Im loving that as well!!! It really helps to keep my lap band in check and Im eating all the right foods. Private message me for more details. I think you might like it! Like I said 60 pounds is such a huge accomlpishment and like my fiance says its not about size or the number on the scale its about how you feel! Setting little goals helps best, I think. Im getting married in January 2010 at beaches turks and caicos. Lisa you already sent your invitations?!?! Holy cow I guess Im way behind. Mine are going out in september. I do have a lot done. But still need to purchase bridal party attire, make OOT bags (cant do that until final head count) book hair and makeup, final dress fitting, just little things. Got most if not all of the major things out of the way!

Even though I am not staying where you are booked, I think a lot of us run into this same issue. I booked some of mine ahead of time. And the rest I was told I could book 30-60 priors to arrival to make sure of def. head count etc. The things I have booked ahead of time are excursions, spa treatments, and a candle lit dinner for two on the beach. As for the other things I cant really book the reception until I know how many people will be coming etc. And they typically want it paid in full whenever you do decide to book anything.

Hey all just wondering if any one had ideas for fun games or thoughts or any traditions anyone has done or is doing at their AHR?? My friend did a bowl and people put in their thoughts and best wishes etc! The dollar dance? Im just looking for ideas for something new to make sure people have a good time and something to remember!!! Would love to hear what everyone is doing!!!!

TA Maureen. I was told yah of course they can take pictures at the wedding etc. But in no way are large cameras, shadow hiders, flash, any photo accessories are allowed. Do you know anything about this?

oh my god the knot p&e boards are RIDICULOUS. Its people like that, that seriously boil my blood. Who are you to say what someone can or can not do at their own wedding! wow they are so RUDE!!!!! its unbelievable!!!!! ok quick vent there. sorry!

Hey Michelle! I just found this review from another Beaches Boscobel bride/ Thought I would post it here for ya! "Pictures - A+ - Our photographer at the resort did a fantastic job, I am so happy with our photos & we were so lucky to have a beautiful sunset in the background! I would recommend ordering photos on the cd...b/c then they can be downloaded & used however you wish...expensive but totally worth it...pictures/memories last a lifetime! Reception - A+ - We had the reception on the sky terrace which also overlooked the sea...they decorated with luminaries & set out the name tags & other favors/decorations I had brought along. We had a steel drum band play for 2-3 hours and it was so much fun...once everyone set foot on the dance floor they didn't leave! The food was amazing...we had appleton rum shrimp, caesar salad & jamaican jerk chicken...for dessert we had our wedding cake & the lovers pineapple baked alaska (definitely recommend as this was everyone's favorite)!!! We also had a separate appetizer table (to my surprise) that was set up before dinner was served which was really nice, especially for the kids! Following the reception we moved the party to the piano bar to continue the celebration! When we returned to our room we were surprised with champagne, chocolate covered treats & our bed decorated with tropical flowers! Beaches Boscobel may be the more expensive option...but well worth it...especially if you have family & friends of all ages attending! know and I will just post the pictures!" hope that helps a little!

I say #6 or #7 its perfect! And I personally think any bridesmaid dress would go with that!!

Michelle- I am staying at Beaches Turks and Caicos and have hired Tropical Imaging for before the wedding to take all the pictures I want to capture. They will be taking us off property to their secret spots and all. Also our friends got married there 5 years ago and they used the beaches photographer and their pics came out amazing! They caught all the moments they wanted and more!And had a great experience! I particularly love pictures and wanted some on the beaches etc so Im happy with Tropical imaging and I am also happy with the Beaches photographers for the ceremony etc! As for sneaking some one in thats nearly impossible. No large cameras are allowed etc. As this was my first option to have them stay as a guest etc etc. But they can not use flashes, shadow hiders,etc. And it ends up being wicked expensive. Im sure their are other photographers in Boscobel you can hire to go off property for before or after your ceremony to take pictures you can treasure and then use the Beaches photographer for your ceremony and reception. Im not meeting my photographers from tropical imaging until the day of. Also Beaches/Sandals do offer a full refund if you decide not to go with them. But Im in the same boat you are and I think it is going to be perfect especially after seeing our friends pictures. Good Luck!

UPDATE! UPDATE!! I went back today and tried on about 10 dresses and then put my dress on and I LOVE IT!!!!! I needed to do this for myself and I did and just re affirmed my love for the dress!!! thanks all!!!! much love!!!

UPDATE: Well I have decided to go back to the dress shop tomorrow bright and early and try on the dresses I need to, to satisfy myself. Im hoping this will crush all doubt and make me 200% of the dress I have purchased or I hope to find the right dress. I will keep everyone updated and thanks so much for your support!!!
