He is also the resort photog there. Sounds like most of the brides who posted there went with an outside photog, but a couple of the brides used him and were happy with his work. It sounds like he may not be as artistic as many of the other photographers, but for the money, I think he'll be fine for us. It sounds like Juan and the other photographers who work for him are nice and will shoot poses you request if you have specific shots you'd like to get. I can give you more accurate info in a few weeks! Best of luck! Thank you for your response! I thik I am just going to use him too. We are doing the Gold package which comes with some photo's and then we are going to add a package! Congrats and good luck in a few weeks. I'm sure you will be crazed when you get home, but i would love to see some pictures of you/groom and especially the Excellence Location, ets. Are you getting married on the beach, gazebo, pier?
  2. Did anyone use the on site photographer at Excellence Riviera Maya? Pro's / Con's ? Were you happy with your photo's or did you choose an offsite photographer?? My wedding is April 28, 2010 and im just beginning to decide on what to do with photo's...any input welcome!

That woman is IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of!! The Riveria Maya is just so beautiful and affordable! Hi Rhiannon - Just sent All the info. i have from Veronica to your hotmail account, enjoy, lot's of stuff to look at, take in and consider
  4. Hi Caligirl! I really like Dress 1. You look so sweet & beutiful, the other 2 are alittle more revealing for your wedding day. Do you feel more comfortable in one vs the other? That could also help you decide, walk around the bridal store a bit, sit down in all of them, im sure you'll make the right choice. Good Luck!!!
  5. Hi Girls! I spoke with Veronica last week and she sent me some attachments with menu's, flowers and even the 3 wedding locations. You can choose from the beach, pier or brick gazebo. For the bride Rhiannon, you might want to consider the brick gazebo so you can wear your much loved heels Also, i went to Excellence in the Domincan last year and we loved it too, but the other bride who mentioned the ride from the airport, it can be kind of frightening to some of your guests. That is one of the reasons we picked Riv. Maya and we wanted to go somewhere new & exciting to get married. I will try and post what i have from Veronica.

I wanted to ask Veronica what the dimensions of that space are because you can't really tell online. I also have not seen any pictures from receptions held in there, that's another question that I wanted to ask Veronica. Maybe she has pics of a reception there, it would be helpful!! I also wanted to see about stringing round lanterns across the space. ANother bride who got married at ERC (but in the foyer) said that Veronica set up her lanterns and didn't charge anything for the set-up. As far as the tea lights go, I was thinking of doing the battery powered ones as well, but since we are not right on the beach and its an enclosed outdoor area (from what I can tell) I think I am going to bring regular tealights. We are going with the gold package and it only includes one table decoration for the reception. I am thinking about taking the BM bouquets and the ceremony table decoration and using those for the reception tables, to try and save money. Otherwise, veronica said that they are $100 per table for the centerpieces! I also found online these really cool lights that are meant to sit on the bottom of vases to light up flower arrangements. My thought was to buy a bunch and put them in the fountain to light it up a little bit, thought it would be a really nice focal point for the reception. I have not heard anything about the hair and make-up except that the wedding package does not include a trial run. I am not sure if I am going to go with them or not, but also not sure what the other options are. We are staying at the resort from the Monday before the wedding until the Sunday after it. We are then going down to Secrets Maroma Beach for another 7 days for our honeymoon! I can't wait, only 9 more months to go. We live in Arlington, VA right now. I used to live in DC (Capitol Hill)for a while until I moved in with my fiancee. Where in NoVA did you live before you moved? @mich&adam----I am not sure what nights the other restaurants will be closed. I only heard about Agave on Friday nights because another bride posted that she was upset she couldn't have her welcome reception there on a Friday night because it was closed. Then I just asked Veronica what the deal was with receptions there. I would just send her an email to find out, but I think there is at least one restaurant closed every night of the week. At least that's how it was when we stayed at Excellence Playa Mujeres. Veronica did say that we can use candles, there's no problem with having the open flame. I know (from a friend who got married there) that it does get really breezy in thre foyer too and they were not able to keep the candles lit, something to keep in mind. It is definitely going to be a busy month for weddings! I am just nervous that someone else will get married on the same day. :-( I know they allow two weddings a day there, but at least the first person to book a wedding on that date gets first choice for cermony time and reception location! @Dimenzi-----I know that Agave is open on Tursday nights so I don't know if that could be an option, I would check with Veronica though. I also want to ask her about the size of the outdoor space at Agave to see if its a good size for the reception. Thank you ShannonLeigh - GREAT POST!!! I hope there's no other weddings there for you or any of us either, stinks that they do allow 2 a day. Last question for now....until i think of more, when are you having your welcome dinner? I don't know if i should do it Monday night or Tuesday night, our Wedding is on Wed, April 28th at 5pm!!! Great idea about using the bridesmaides bouquets for the table decoration....$100 for addtional centerpieces is crazy, between the one we get with the gold package, any tealights we may have and the BM flowers, that is perfect....also, some one should check with Veronica....another girl said she left her lanterns at the resort and we should all ask Veronica about using them.....
  7. Hi Beachgirl & ShannonLeigh - I am also getting married that week, our date is Wednesday, April 28, we picked the middle of the week since we are staying Sat to Sat and our guests are staying Sun-Thurs. I am doing red, yellow and cream rose petals on the tables and on the runner for the beach wedding. How do you find out what restaurant is closed on what day, i have no idea where i'm having my reception yet, although i probably won't have it on the beach becasue i know a lot of my guests don't care to eat outside, lol and i would hate to do that to them, plus i've heard the wind can kick up pretty bad. Sounds like it's going to be a busy week for weddings in April 2010. Also, i plan on doing tealights on the table, do either of you know if they allow candles or do they prefer you use the battery operated ones

No. Am I going to remember by MOH's speach, and how she saved my hair from looking horrible? Yes. Don't sweat the small stuff. Your ABSOLUTELY right, i think i am getting caught up in this website and what every one else is doing and forgetting the reason i chose Mexico! Again, can't wait to see your pictures and here about your experience.

The hotel does a Mexican night, where the marichai's play. I think it's the same group that is used for the weddings. I'll let you know my thoughts on both. WOW, next weekend - Congrats. Can't wait to see pictures and hear all about your experience at Excellence!! Did you pick your flowers from the resort list or are you bringing your own, that is another decision i'm trying to make right now, this is almost as hard as planning a big wedding here!
  10. Finally, some responses, LOL. I noticed a lot of people read the post, but didn't reply. For the girls who chose the trio, are you having them play at the wedding, cocktail hour OR reception dinner??
  11. I noticed some links to flowers and decorations and even cakes for the gold wedding package, again for some reason i still don't have enough points on this site and i'm trying to decide on a color scheme, so if anyone has pdf files they can send to me directly, hopefully i can open them, i would soooo greatly appreciate it!
  12. Thank you DreamsComeTrue!! I was able to open the links you posted. Do you know where your getting married/location?? Beach, Gazebo, ? WOW - only a few more months until your wedding
  13. Also, i noticed a lot of girls posting pics of wedding cakes, flowers, etc and since i'm still new i can't open a thing would someone be kind enough to send them to me directly?? my email is [email protected], thanks!
  14. Hi Girls & Guys - I have finally confirmed my date and location, ERM, April 28, 2010 with my travel agent AND Veronica'!! I'm hoping that was the hardest part and that everything else going forward with planning our destination goes smoothly. Any suggestions on doing a DJ or just the Ipod docking station...read some may conflicting posts.... Next up, dress, rings....then what?? Michelle
  15. Congrats Erin!! Everything you wrote about Excellence DR is exactly right. Although I will admit we loved the private Excellence Club Food, aside from SPICE,the best, i tend to have a weak stomach and everything we ate there was good and I wasn't sick. Also DR brides, on Tuesday afternoons they have a beach wide bbque, that's why they don't do weddings on Tuesday. The beach bbque was a ton of fun, just be very careful with the burgers, you cannot, i repeat, not eat their meet red in any shape or form, as you will get sick. I was there last year for a vacation (Oct.) and it was beautiful and we fell in love with it, that is why when we got engaged, we knew exactly where we wanted to be married!!! Congrats again to Erin and all the upcoming DR brides Michelle
  16. Hi Lori - my email is [email protected] & Ecox 125 - Congrats on your recent wedding. Me and Adam have been to Excellene PC before and loved that spice restaurant, good choice! Yeah, i'm getting alittle nervous as it is kind of hard to communicate with Ana. But another bride said to just make sure we have all our emails with us, hopefully that will help!
  17. Can anyone tell me the difference between the Love Wedding Package and the Gold Wedding package dinner options? I have been in contact with Ana about the date. But nothing yet about how and when to go about choosing the actual package and if you did get married there, what package did you choose and were you happy with everything....anything you would change. All opinions welcome!!
  18. Hello All - I'm michelle, me and my fiance' Adam are planning a wedding for the Domin.Rep/Excellence club in October, 2009. Already contacted Ana there at the resort and have a tentative date. We went there last year and fell in love with the pools, beach and private club, so it didn't take too much on deciding...although we are open for suggestions of other resorts maybe even in Mexico or Jamaica??
