so just have a moh & best man thats what we're doing its the easiest..obviously whoever is there is the closest to you so its understood..and for the girls that would have been bridesmaid if i was having a bridal party i just said we arent doing that and makes life easier on everyone they dont have to wear what they dont want and i dont have to drive myself nuts deciding. traditional has become the untraditional..do what makes you happiest and causes you the least amount of stress...god knows there will be enough of that anyway

As for my close friend..omg we both cringed as she said it..because it was at another wedding we were at last week when my fiance said to her you guys are def going to come right? and so she had said that..i understand perfectly if its a financial circumstance (although i dont think it is) but even so..come to me and say listen i love you i would love to be there but we just cant swing it and i would understand completely..but to say it like that was more like f*ck off i dont know right now (oh and by the way my fiance left work too out of respect for me and came to the hospital the day she gave birth too) which was 2yrs ago and so at that time he didnt know her as well as he does today obviously i was just disgusted.

Ok so this one is a doosy and I dont know what to do. 1st I have to give some backround info before i get to my question to bear with me please, and also know that I am not a girl that gets involved in drama at ALL! I hate this stuff I usually avoid it but this is weird I am currently going for my masters, and a few months back I had a paper due that was like 160+ pages..when i was done i posted my facebook status as free at last, free at last! well...one of my friends(she considers herself one but i havent spoken to her in forever) wrote what happened ?you finally got rid of your fiance? I was soooooo pissed. Besides the fact that she has never met him in the 3 yrs weve been together hes probably the kindest person in the entire world and to say that without knowing him especially publically on facebook is retarted. So he reads this and gets upset and was like what did you tell her, are u trying to get rid of me? he was so upset..because he really thought i had said soemthing to her. So i wrote her some unpleasantries and kind of forgot about her after that. At the time one of my actual close friends who does know her casually through me and knows my fiance very well wrote all these things about him saying hes the best thing in her life bla bla..and she told me i should drop the girl..i said im not in kindergarden...nothing to drop she wasnt in my life wasnt going to be, stop writing things on facebook because i dont care what she thinks and i dont want this drama. fastforward to last night..i am online and the girl who originally wrote the you got rid of him, im's me and says oh congrats i heard you set the date i heard its in DR congrats...i was shocked because i never told her, never wrote anything on facebook, she doesnt have any mutual friends with me(or so i thought) and had no idea how she knew..so she proceeds to tell me that she spoke on the phone to my friend(the one who stood up for me when it was written) and that she had told her..so apparently they are friends. She proceeds to tell me that im gonna make such a beautiful bride and its going to be so beautiful, and she would love to see me as a bride..all these things..actually had the balls to ask how much its going to cost and all this other stuff. I was angry at my friend like why would you tell her that, what business is it of yours too share and puts me in an akward position now because I had no intention of inviting her..does this mean i have to?? Oh and by the way..the close friend of mine is one that i have been through everything in the world with her(4 bachelorette parties this girl had i went to all, the night she got engaged i ran out of bed when i was sleeping to go meet them & congratulate them, the day she gave birth i left work and ran to the hospital) when she found out about our wedding she said "ill see what i can do if i come or not" lol. I love ittt!!!!

I live for her show i watch the 11 & 12 every night...she is hands down the funniest person on TV

oh and by the way..I had never been to the DR before this summer, we went because everyone was telling us its the cheapest for all inclusives and i want it to be cheapest for guests but yet find a beautiful place, i first wanted aruba but its really expensive. So we went down for a week a month ago to just check out a few hotels..punta cana was 1000 times nicer then what i thought it would be and i have been to almost every island, beaches are beautiful and the people were so friendly..its really nice..i saw a bunch of hotels and ended up booking the one we did on the spot when we were there because i just loved it so much..but if there are any you are considering message me and i can give you my opinion if its one that I had checked out..not that it means much lol but its still an opinion

Well what I can tell you is its all luck and you can't plan it..I was in Mexico 2 yrs ago in Oct and it was hurricane season, and the 2 weeks prior to our arrival was downpoars straight..and the week that we left was also rain..but the week that we were there was amazing and not a day of rain..I have been in two weddings in December..and you're from NY so you know how our winters can be and both were like in the 60's i even remember being outside without a jacket. But in regards to cheaper months I found out (unfortunately after we booked our date) that the cheapest is the summer starting from may and the 1st 2 weeks of december..but then you can run the risk of flight delays because of snow we might have at home..so basically pick the date you feel best with and pray to the weather gods for the best lol

Yea I actually had a bridesmaid dress made at galit for another wedding and it was horrible..honestly? I think shes over priced and i'm not even crazy about her stuff, and the one dress i had made considering i went there for like 10 fittings wasnt even done right..I was in monicas yesterday lol..nothin i was crazy about either. The other store you're talking about is off voorhies(near the liquor store) but its custom, and I didnt feel like going through the whole custom made thing, but I went in anyway and she has beautiful ideas if you're looking for custom made she had sick stuff..not sure if you got your dress yet but thanks

I agree 100000% with you..I def rather spend that money on something else..people always say its once in a lifetime, and im like exactly so why would i want to be wearing something thats that much money? no but seriously they need to get over themselves..because its not even like they have pretty things so you can look and dream and move on...even if money wasnt an object there was nothing i would even want to try on..it was like a factory..brides running everywhere..sales people running after them it was nuts..atleast for me anyway..i couldnt stand more then 10min there so the dress is like long waisted then flares out a bit...im going to pm you right now.

I was in the same predicament but more so because most of my FMIL's friends arent going to come and she was upset..so I said we could arrange to have something here after to share pictures. So she suggested to have a party which I am not sure who said it in their reply, but if your whole reasoning was to have it away to avoid the stress and the huge production at home, the last thing i wanted to do was agree to that..but the other concern of mine was that if people are invited to an affair even semi formal to me it seems like we're asking for gifts from those that couldnt come...if its just a bbq then it doesnt have the same connotation, and seems like much more of a fun event you want to share with people you love in a relaxed way with no underlying motives..then again maybe im sick because i over analyze things to death and maybe noone would ever think of that but im weird lol. so I think bbq is the way to go..or if you cant have a bbq you can just have like an open house make it from like 6-whenever and people can come and go as theyd like so if your limited with space you dont have to worry about having everyone at once

Does anyone know how far in advance you have to book the rooms? And did you guys do a block of rooms through the hotel directly yourselves or did you have the TA work on it for you.

Actually its part of there 2010 collection so they dont have any pics up of that one yet they said..but as soon as they do ill show you. as for klienfelds...i think people are too busy with the idea of getting the dress from there that they dont realize they are being abused in the process. OMG like i cant even explain how annoying and boring everyone there was..and there wasnt even a dress that i would have liked to try on just for the hell of it..like it was all that ugly..well no im lying there was one that was ok but it was "cheap" according to the lady..umm $7500..like who are you kidding you know that woman would never spend that money on anything and you have the balls to say thats cheap? everyone in there needs to be shook meanwhile the dresses in pronovias are triple the beauty and a third of the price and the people there are soooooo nice.

What they told me when I was there was if there is anything you have in mind you can send them the email and they can replicate it as best as possible so you can keep that in mind too

Ok sooooo...I found my dress i think...im gonna sleep on it but most probably it is. Pronovias is prob the best store ever..both the people are nice and the dresses are amazing..but I was afraid to commit because I wanted to see what klienfelds had which was my 2nd appointment. Klienfelds was everything i expected it to be! besides the fact that i wanted to just get a pencil and poke all the people there in the eye..the dresses were hurendous...like i was expecting that there will be things that will blow my mind but so expensive i couldnt afford..honestly? even if I could afford you'd have to pay me money to wear them..it was so bad that after 10 min of just looking around i told the lady im sorry i dont want to waste your time or mine but this store has nothing for me..you had to see the look on her face..like how can someone poooossibly not find something in klienfelds..im think im just too brooklyn for that store..lol

As for pronovias they need one...so im going there and klienfelds tonight i better find something that i both love and doesnt require me to be marrying the prince of saudi arabia to afford

I just got a call too like 5 min ago telling me that i won a trip somewhere and i have to come down to look at some pots & pans or soemthing and then will an all inclusive trip for 3 night to DR or Mexico..and i kept saying um no thanks and she was like getting irritated that I wasnt believing her, so i just hung up. but the weird thing is i never filled anything out
