  1. Well, I would say it depends on what you're doing with all the colors and how you plan to incorporate them. Silk rose petals, literally come in TONS of different colors and I have seen teal and brown too! I just personally love the pop of bright pink against the sand. Go with whatever you think will work best with how you're decorating your ceremony location.

It really was quite easy. My mom and I did the first few feet together to get the right look. We did the edges first. Just put a dab of hot glue on the end of the petal and place the petal on the edge of the ribbon. We put the edge petals over far enough so that they would hide the ribbon. After doing a foot or so of the edges, start filling in the middle section. I used 3 shades of hot pink to give it a bit of depth and a layered look. We also left 6 inches or so at either end of the ribbon so that it can be burried in the sand to help keep it anchored on the beach. Just try placing petals on the ribbon without glue first, this will help you figure out placement, etc... before it becomes permanent! Glad I could provide a little inspiration to you all!

  8. Here's the cost breakdown: 3400 silk petals (3 different shades of pink): $36.95 including shipping 2 roles of wide pink ribbon (15' each): about $6 (I had coupons) Hot glue sticks & glue gun: Already had these Total: $42.95ish To be honest, I'm not really sure how long it took since my mom was gracious enough to do this project for me. In fact she said she loved doing it and even joked about having a side business making them! I know she spent a little time here and there making them, but didn't do it all at once.

  14. Well, thanks to BDW Forum member Keilag for the inspiration, my DIY petal aisle runner is now complete! I really wanted to dress up the aisle on the beach and thought that real rose petals were just WAY too expensive. And then you aren't allow to just toss silks everywhere and leave them, so it'd be a pain in the butt to pick them up. I thought this was a beautiful alternative and still gives the same look I originally wanted, plus easy clean-up! I used a wide ribbon (2.5-3" wide), something with some substance to it, like satin or grosgrain. I purchased the silk petals in varying shades of hot pink on e-Bay and hot glued them to the ribbon. Each side of the aisle will be decorated with one of these runners. Each one is 15' long. These aren't the greatest pics in the world, but it'll give you an idea of what it looks like.
  15. I'm hoping someone can help me? I want to print a return address directly on the back flap of my A7 envelope. I can't figure out how to do it. I've tried Word using the envelop feature, I've tried PowerPoint, etc.. I can't seem to get it to print the address at the top center of the flap. Does anyone have a template already set-up for this. Please help!!!
  16. Well, after much debate back and forth, I finally decided to use silk flowers for my bouquet. When it came down to it, as much as I adore real flowers, I just couldn't justify spending all that money on real ones. I wouldn't be able to do anything with it after the wedding as we'll be on St. John for two weeks. I stumbled upon this floral website, Silk Flowers, Silk Wedding Flowers, and Floral Supplies and they have some of the best pricing I've seen so far. I went with real touch flowers and I'll put together my bouquet, as well as 2 small ones for my mother and FMIL. Here's the look I'm going for....hopefully it'll turn out nice!
  17. I had to get at least 21 feet worth of organza for mine. Our arch is about 7 feet high and 4-5 feet wide. I think it all depends on the measurements of the arch.
  18. Try this forum....Caribbean-On-Line :: View Forum - British Virgin Islands Travel Forum
  19. Have you tried Googling travel forums for Virgin Gorda or better yet for the British Virgin Islands? I would try that option and post your question as you'll probably get some good feedback from people that live there or travel there regularly.
  20. Have you tried e-Bay? That's where I ordered my finger star fish from. Also try Googling star fish and you'll come up with a bunch of places.
  21. I'm having a similar dilemma too! I have a pair of rockin' blue heels for the reception, but I'd rather go with flats or barefoot for the ceremony on the beach. I'll be dragging my dress all over the beach! I'm starting to rethink my shoes and may just opt for a flat sandal that I can easily walk in on the beach or take off and it won't make that big of a difference. Oh the agony of shoes!!!!
  22. They look fantastic!! I decided to go with pocketfolds as well and ordered everything from Cards and Pockets. They were great to work with!
  23. Hi ladies! I just wanted to share this website with you all. I was recently looking all around for organza fabric to decorate our arch with and I stumbled upon this website Gifts International Inc - Gifts and Packaging Online Store. I could have bought it at various craft stores, but at over $10/yard and I needed 7 yards of each of my colors, I thought I could find a better deal. They also had quick shipping. If anyone needs organza, try this place! They have many other items as well.
  24. For me, it was between boarding passes and pocketfolds. After months of deliberations, I ended up going with pocketfolds. I think which ever style you prefer, you should go with that one, regardless if you have guests in the destination country.
  25. I'm totally in the same situation about the OOT bags! I've been getting things for a few months now, but I think I'm changing my plans. When I think about the need to either ship things down or load them in my suitcases, I just think it's going to be too much. I'm now thinking of doing a nice favor, like a bottle of local USVI rum, a fun little drink recipe to go with it...something like that.
