  1. This is great! I just ordered my P90x set and I'm waiting for it to come in! Hopefully it'll be here by the weekend!!!! Goal: Lose 15lbs (well it's really more, but this is just by the wedding!) Start date: 3/6/10 (if it's here by then!) Plan: Not sure yet, I'll know once I see the plans, plus a no sugar, flour, processed food diet
  2. I'm doing favors for my guests and was thinking of doing mini-bottles of Cruzan Rum since it's made in the Virgin Islands and we're getting married on St. John. I may also put a common Virgin Islands drink recipe in with it too. However, I have 4 kids (ages 15, 14, 7 and 5) attending, as well as my mother who doesn't drink alcohol. Any ideas as to what I could do for the kids and then for my mom? Help me out ladies....I'm under the 2 month mark!!!
  3. Nikki, do you remember who you bought the napkins from on e-Bay??
  4. I agree with Cindy*.....see which color looks best with your skin tone and go with it! I chose ivory, but I'm also blond with fair skin and ivory works better for me.
  5. Help me out here ladies! I really want to do flowers as my cake topper. I've got extra natural touch stargazer lilies and calla lilies, so I thought it would make sense to DIY a cake topper. Has anyone done this? Not sure how to go about this.... Any suggestions?
  6. If anyone is looking for vase fillers/gems, Michaels has them on sale until 2/13/10 for $0.77 per bag. They are regularly $2.49.
  7. Okay, so I can't figure out how to put attachments in a PM, so if anyone is interested, here are the templates I used for my invites. The fonts I used were: Scriptina, Copperplate Gothic Light and the Wmtrees1 dingbat (got this at dafont.com). I put boxes around the templates to use for cutting guides and when I cut them, I cut just inside the boxes so that the lines wouldn't show.

  9. Love, love, love it with the pink!!!! Oh and FYI, your monogram is great!!!
  10. I stumbled upon him on YouTube as well!!! LOVE HIS STUFF!!! I ordered his mp3 files and we're going to use some of his songs for the ceremony. I really wanted to have a steel drum player, but what it was going to cost for a very short amount of time, we opted to play the music from an iPod.
  11. The printing at Staples came out fantastic! I was really surprised about it. Well, my cardstock was really heavy (about 105#) so I think they are supposed to charge like $1.09 per sheet (for color). But, everyone only charged me $0.49 per sheet. I'll take a savings any way it comes!

I have to go to Hobby Lobby later on so I'll see if they have the ribbon. I got the rose petals from 3 different sellers. Megagifthk, Wgmxw2009, and Your_perfect_gifts. There are tons of petals for sale on e-Bay, just look at where they are coming from if you're in a time crunch at all. I think 2 of my orders came from China, but I had plenty of time to work with.

  14. We're having a sunset sail as our welcome gathering and I included the event information in our invitation. I did pocketfolds, so I made one of the inserts all about the "welcome sail" and also included a line for it on the RSVP. I too wanted a headcount before hand. Here's the link to the post about the my pocketfolds where you can see what it looked like. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ds-done-55000/
  15. Hi ladies, Since I gathered inspiration from a few of you, I thought I'd share my pocketfold invites! They went in the mail last week and I'm starting to get RSVP's back! I ordered the pocketfolds (pearl metallic), cardstock (turquoise & pearl metallic), A7 and 4-bar envelopes (turquoise) from Cards & Pockets. The ribbon I got from Michaels (navy & fuschia) and the velcro dots from Staples. I also did the printing of the invite, inserts and monogram logo at Staples because my home printer would produce a high quality on the metallic paper. I printed mailing addresses and my return address directly on the envelopes. It was a great DIY project!
  16. I agree with the majority....In my opinion it's not expected or something you have to do. Totally your choice and whatever you feel works best for your budget. We opted to have a sunset sail for our welcome gathering the night before our wedding. The majority of our guests are family and I'd say about 90% of them have never met each other. We thought it'd be a nice way for everyone to meet before the hustle and bustle of the wedding. Added bonus, I won the sunset sail in a charity auction for FAR less than what we would have paid at the per person rate! SCORE!
