  1. We're neighbours!! Have you tried Noah Brown on Broadway in Orangeville. It's a small store but they're very helpful, my mom asked for a "magic dress", they picked one out for her. I guess it's technically a bridesmaid dress but she was able to order the size and colour she wanted, and it really magically hides her tummy. There's another store in Mt Forest that I've heard a lot of moms get their dresses from, we found a really nice pant suit there but the price was a little steep for us. I'll get the name of the store the next time I'm talking to my mom.
  2. My FH has two boys 13 and 11, we wouldn't consider them not going with us. However it does make it easier that they are a little older. Actually I find the biggest benefit of choosing a DW is the boys are as excited as we are, and they've actually been interested in some of the wedding decisions. (I'm working on them to do a little speech for their dad). They are going down with us, but we're staying 2 weeks and they're going to have to come home with my family. We've travelled with them lots before, and never been asked for any paperwork, but always figure it's better to be on the safe side, especially since my parents last names are different, as far as we know we'll need to get a notarized letter, with permission from their mom. Luckily we're on good terms so that won't be a problem

    hello

    Congratulations, welcome to the forum
  4. My bridesmaid dresses are Persimmon (Orangey/red), we're going with orange, red and touches of yellow, kinda sunset inspired
  5. I also went the more traditional route, sadly the beachy dresses just weren't suiting me. I absolutely love my dress, it's me in everyway, and was in my budget. Hopefully I survive the heat, and they allow it to come with me on the plane as it's kinda large. We're going to the airport early, so I can pour on the charm.

  10. Welcome. We are also taking my F.H. two boys, in fact we've made them the best men. I completely relate to the difficult, and great times, taking on role of step mom is not easy. The boys and I are getting more and more excited as the time nears. in fact one of them is making up friendship bracelets (which he volunteered to do) for me to add to the oot bags. Have fun with all the planning

  17. congratulations, and welcome, we originally had decided on Cuba but changed our minds at the last minute. I was very close to booking th Melia Las Dunas, at the time it was reasonably priced and seemed quite nice, may be worth looking in to. Good luck with the planning
  18. Hello! I was born in the big T.O, moved to Orangeville when I was 13 and except for a stint at college have never left. We plan on staying put here. FH is from London, moved around a bit through his 20's, Lindsay, Scarborough... eventually landed in Orangeville where we met. Debs how long ago were in Orangeville?
  19. For a friends bachelorette (she asked not to do the bar scene), we took a pole dancing class. I was a little nervous, as I'm more on the reserved side, however it ended up being soooo much fun, we were all drinking wine and giggling, it was great.
  20. I have been told of a few frustrating stories by people who've had legal ceremonies. One couple had to return to the resort as it had been over a year without recieving their marriage license. Two friends who had destination weddings told me it relieved a lot of stress by having a symbolic wedding. Also in Panama they require bloodwork and I'm not really interested in giving them that. So we've opted to be married by a Justice of Peace here and a symbolic ceremony there.

  23. Yes, mostly because I plan on dancing at the disco afterwards and I plan on wearing my dress again at the AHR so I don't want it to get too dirty. I went to sears warehouse and picked up a nice white dress for $30. Good deals
