Hi Jennifer congrats! we can add you to the list of dates now I think the photography is def an investment but in my opinion it is the most important one. The two names you listed do amazing work from what I have seen. I will actually be featuring a wedding by Sasha Gluck on my blog tomorrow. I am using Samuel Luna. I chose him because his prices were great and I love his photojounalistic approach. His style is what really sold me.

Hi jlb when is your wedding? I think the beach at the Porto is nicer. How large is your wedding? that is the thing I don't know how I would feel about another wedding right next to me. I think it would depend how large your wedding is and the one right next to you. Just to be safe if it were me I would do it at the Gran. I thought the beach there was very beautiful.

Hi yes I am using Yazmin De La Mora however I am having my actual reception off site. I was told I could not have her for the ceremony and cocktail hour at the Royal. They told me I have to use one of their onsite WC's they do not allow outside WC's. So for the ceremony and cocktail hour I am working with A WC called Zulma that works at the wedding center at the Royal.

Hi Heidi welcome! we have lots and lots of tips just ask away Msgalve - that is just unacceptable. Usually she responds to be in 3 days its been almost a week so I am juts going to call and I suggest you do the same. Especially since your info is not on the site. I would call to confirm everything over the phone have her send you an email after to confirm everything you just talked about and have the site be updated. Jenny - thank you I think it will be really nice to split it up I agree. Such a bummer that we cant see everyone wedding dates and locations any more I really like that

Hi Jenn, I am getting married 11.12.10 at The Royal PDC. We are having our ceremony and cocktail at the Royal with the reception next door at Kool Beach Club. Most of my planning is done. The very first thing I did was book the photographer, than we did DJ, than florist, than cake and finally hair and make up. If you have not already I highly recommend booking and working with a travel agent. It was the best decision we ever made. This is definitely a resort that books up fast. A travel agent will ensure none of your guests get bumped if they get moved to another hotel. Mine also matched all on line rates which were great. One thing to be sure to remind your guests to book early. Price for flights have almost tripled since we booked back in February and all our guests were very happy they booked so early. I personally picked The Royal because of its location. It is the only resort right down town which is awesome for guests. However there has been a lot of frustration with the wedding department. They are very slow to respond i think mainly because they are so overwhelmed. So it is important to remember to be patient. But every single bride has said their day was beyond their expectations at this resort. Congrats on booking!! all the fun begins now lol let me know if you have any questions about anything

Thanks Lady Di and jcooper! I think we decided sweat heart table for us and no assigned seating. We are using maracas as place card holders so everyone can grab their name and sit and than its not my problem lol. The only thing is without assigned seating do you think it will be chaos with 85 guests? We are doing food stations so we don't have to worry about entree choices.

Ok let the drama begin in my family. It's time for the seating arrangements lol My FI's parents are divorced and do not want to sit together. My dad wants us to sit with him and we want to sit with our bridal party. That is only a piece of this drama. With 85 guests coming my dream of not having assigned seating has gone straight out the window I was praying this day would never come and it has arrived. So I have to ask the girls I trust most are you guys sitting with your parents or bridal party or neither?

It is beautiful!!!!!!! very classy and sexy all in one looking forward to seeing it on you -
I have not submitted my stuff in yet but since I am almost 3 months away i think I am going to do that in the next few weeks and see what they say about the cocktail hour. I was told $10 pp for the hot apps and that it was open bar. I have it in writing so I def will have an issue if they try to change it. I was also told I could have the chivalari chairs and I have already made all my ceremony programs and they are hanging off the chairs. Also any ladies who are looking for a catamaran I found a really great place. http://cozumelcruiseexcursions.com/P...kelingTour.htm They are the cheapest for the ones that include steak and lobster. Their rates also includes transportation which I thought was awesome.

However, you can not choose soup and salad if your package is a 3 course package.(EX: If you have the classic package, you will get salad, entree and dessert, but if you have luxury, you get soup, salad, and dessert). Does that make sense? I'm sorry to hear about the deaths in your family

I think ladies you can definitely do two entrees as said before they just have to be clearly marked so the wait staff knows. I was also sent multiple menus but at the time we were going to do the ultimate luxury package and there was just one menu for that package. However I was told we could mix and match and choose from the other menus if we wanted to.

As you might remember from my previous post i will be having a religious ceremony in the Catholic Chapel on Quinta Avenida. I am also having my reception in the Gazebo Garden. I want to run by you guys my idea on the set up to see what you guys think. So, my plan is to set up dinner tables in the pave area directly in front of the gazebo (not sure exactly how, because don't have a wide view of the are to do a diagram). I want to set up the dance floor inside the gazebo (not sure if it has been done before). Around the dance floor i want to lay a couple of lounge furniture. I know i wont be able to fit that many, but i am ok with that. In the grassy area, right next to the gazebo, i want to set up the rest of the lounge furniture and called it the hukka bar (my family likes smoking hukka... i will be bringing the hukkas from the states if possible). I wan to decorate the gazebo with hanging paper lantern and something that reflects light (not sure what that something is). What do you guys think of my plan? Is it Doable? Also any suggestions on the decoration of the gazebo? I don't want to make it too heavy, as i don't want my decorations to take away from the view of the beach. All inputs are greatly appreciated, as i think that only you guys can give me constructive input as many of you already been there done that. Am i in over my head Thanks, Luz Luz that is perfect plan. I really like the idea of the paper lanterns in the gazebo since I am doing the same for my ceremony the tables will look wonderful in front of the gazebo. The lounge area will look perfect in both areas.
