does anyone know if the $300 for the outside photographer applies if your photographer is actually staying at the resort for a week? I just received an email from Gabriela today, but they take forever to respond to questions. Thanks again ladies

Hi Ladies! We are getting married at the Barcelo Maya Palace on Feb 25,2010. After reading the great reviews about this resort, we have finally booked our trip! We are using a travel site Wedding Destinations and Planning | Destination Weddings .com, and are working with a travel agent who also happens to co-ordinate everything with the wedding co-ordinator at the resort. Sandra!!! Thank you so much for the info and links. I have to say that I don't really care for the cantelope/hurricane centerpieces either. Your centerpieces are going to be awesome!... Kohls is a great place to find anything you could possibly need. My fiance is pretty set about having floating candles with sand and shells as centerpieces, I don't think he understands that we have to lug all of this down there ourselves or pay extra for it at the resort He's trying to be a DIY groom!!! He did do a great job with our save the date magnets, so he gets props for that!! Hope you had a great weekend, thanks again for the info! Amy

We thought about doing a "rock the reception" type first dance....starting off slow and then busting out a coreographed routine(michael jackson, soulja boy, country line dancing, the hussle etc) anything kind of fun and unexpected for everyone and then maybe having a 2nd dance later in the evening

thank you everyone for all of your help!! We are not expecting too many people (20-30) for our wedding, but I love the idea of an outdoor reception. As for the weather, I have been to Mexico in February (Cancun area) and it did cool off at night, but if you keep moving/dancing/drinking, it is tolerable.

Does anyone have any information on the reception locations?? Does it vary with the packages?? Is this wedding planning supposed to be this stressful I can barely take it anymore
