PS - I just checked another thread that I'm in on, and sungoddess caught me.......I'm pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But to you girls that I have on facebook please don't post anything as NONE of our family knows yet and were going to keep it that way for a while yet because Its still really early, and anything can happen!! Shes being honest. There are ALOT of people that will just stand around and watch the ceremony on the beach. You get some people that come over by the gazebo but only a few, on the beach they stop directly behind the arch and stare. And you get sun bathers in your pictures. I don't know if you've been down south before but those sun bathers expose it all.........

I went on the vital statistics Nova Scotia website and called them to see what they had to say, they gave me another number to the province and they gave me a number to a guy to translate it, that was it, we don't register the marriage here because it was legally done in DR. So I just had to get it tranlated to change my driver's license and my health card and my banking stuff. The lady I spoke to with the province said when we file our taxes next year just be sure to tell them your married now. Kinda werid though, I thought there would be more to it. Call vital statistics Quebec, they would be the ones you would get a marriage license though if you were getting married here.

I got my certificate a month after my wedding. It was wayy quicker then I thought! I doubt that the prices will change for the wedding packages, I'm sure Tracy already said, we were both sent packages with the 2008-2009 prices and thats what we paid this year so I don't think it would have gone up, if it did she would email you and let you know. It wouldn't be more then $200 I would say. Carolina will do those menus up for you!!!! We were sooo surprised that she did that!! Its such a nice keepsake

And what did you all do when it asked for the number of guests? We really have no idea how many people will come so what should we put for number of guests? I am sooo happy right now! Our stay at the resort is booked and Carolina confirmed our date... I feel like so much weight has been lifted off of my shoulders! *sorry for all of the exclamation marks! I am just SUPER excited now!* Woo Hooo!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats so exciting!!! I don't think I even filled out that thing she sent me, and I def wouldn't mail it. I would fill it out and email it back to her, I wouldn't trust the postal system. At the time we booked we had 24 people, so I told her that and then put that I thought more would book as we got closer. Just tell her that because about 2-3 weeks before your wedding she will email you and ask for the number of guests, their names and your reservation number, which you can get from your TA and actually means nothing to you, well. it didn't to me. lol

You def wouldn't get 20 people in there, we had 3 on each side plus the two of us, Carolina and the judge plus our photographer and the table with the flowers and book. It wouldn't work. Plus we had some sprinkling of rain come in on us. If you have to do Hemmingways, its beautiful!!!!! I know you def don't even want to think about going all the way to the DR and have to get married inside because that happened to me (Thats what my bridezilla moment was all about) but it really is beautiful, especially if she has enough time to decorate it with the chair covers, sashes and an arch I believe, it will be stunning. No worries, its going to rock If you really want it outside, the ceremony only takes 5 mins your guests can get wet, thats eventually what I told Carolina, we changed places 4 times and then I just told her were doing it at the gazebo. It will give your guests a good story!! lol

You don't need to send a deposit, If she thinks you are going to take that date, I'm sure she wouldn't give it away. I know how frustrating it is when she doesn't email you back, she rarely ever emailed me, but everything was wonderful!! I'm can't stress enough how amazing she is. She will have a file with your names on it and all the info you give her she will have in there. Try not to stress out about it like I did. It makes it sooo much more enjoyable. After all, once its all done, its all done So take it in and be as excited as you can be

[email protected] Carolina emailed me with this email just yesterday. Try that one. I don't know about the romance suits, we had 5 rooms in a row on the bottom and they were all deluxe.

Waiting period
MilitaryMrs.s-to be replied to amester1974's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
If your getting LEGALLY married in DR you have to be there 3 days before your wedding. If your having a symbolic (or renewal of vows) The WC likes you to be there like 24 hours just to get your plans in order. We were going to be there 3 days before but our airline totally messed up and we were only there like a day and a half before our wedding, but they're really good about that, because that was something that was totally out of our control. Good luck -
You have to upload them to something like photobucket, then you can just insert the link from that page once you upload it. Tracy, All I had to do here in NS was get it translated to English for the bank, my drivers license and my health card. We don't register the marriage here because they said it was already registered in DR. Only cost me 40 bucks.

They look so pretty and I love how your bridesmaid's look came together!! Whoa! Sorry I've been MIA for a while, I've been a little sick. The parasols were perfect, I wanted something different rather than flowers like EVERYBODY has, so I went with something that would keep the sun off them, but then when I got down there, I got them each a flower as well. I thought they might get on the girls nerves but it was actually raining a little when they walked down the aisle, and when they got into the gazebo, they just put them down on the floor, they weren't annoying at all, like I thought they would be! lol

I guess the standard rooms are the "deluxe" rooms, so those who stayed in the Punta Cana section, were there jacuzzis in the room (like the pictures)? We stayed in the Punta Cana section, we had the jacuzzi in our bathroom, because our bedroom also had a little living room area, with a pull out coach. But a few of our guests had the rooms with the jacuzzi right in the main room. I liked ours in the bathroom better cause it made more room.

Don't get to ahead of your self with the menu options because Carolina emailed to confirm that we have La Uva and we didn't end up there. We were at the Mexican restaurant. (I think each rest. had a different menu, I don't remember any of the options you guys listed.) Which was still really good. And your blocked off from the rest of the restaurant so nobody bothers you. We had ceaser salad for appetizer, grilled T bone steak (best I've EVER had!) And one vegetarian meal for one of our groomsman. It looked amazing, I wish I ordered one for myself! and chocolate lasagna and wedding cake for dessert. They were suppose to serve the cake at the lobby where everyone was drinking/waiting for us while we had pictures but they didn't they just set it on the bar and then everyone was scared to touch it so my dad brought it to the restaurant on the train with us. lol. But they actually had a cake table set up there so I guess they were waiting for the cake. Ps - the cake is the BESTEST cake you will ever eat!! And I don't eat cake!!

Good for you for having the menu still..something to keep as a memory lol! Here is the bouquet I got, it was extra it cost $35.... I saw some girls have different colour ribbon, i didn't think of it but if I did I would have gotten turqouise. I got this bouquet as well but with hot pink ribbon, and got my girls each a single lily with a pink ribbon. I will see if I can find a pic I also ordered a lily for my hair but didn't get it

I was soo excited for the trip that I didn't sleep for a week, so I was out like a light the night before the wedding. Mike and I stayed in the same room the night before, and hung out right until 11am the morning of the wedding when I had to go to the spa.....Speaking of which, I paid alot more then Tracy did on the SAME day!!! I paid $122 US!! urgghh...But seriously worth every penny! It was beautiful I seen the arch at the gazebo the day before our weddings and wanted it, but then I didn't see it there the rest of the week. I didn't even get the pink ties around the pillars on the gazebo

Beautiful Picture!! We didn't get any garden pics either. The AHR went great. I was really to tired to enjoy it though, and if I had to do it all over again, I would just have close fam and friends come to my parents for a pool party this summer, it was ALOT of work. sungoddess you only have your photog for 1.5 hrs the day of the wedding?? I would def add another hour. We did our dance(only Mike and I) and cake cutting right at the gazebo, then group pics at the gazebo as well and then the wedding party went to the beach for pics, then he did a session of just us.

He took alot of pictures. I have pics from everything!! except the dinner, that was going to be an extra $300 and we didn't do speeches so I couldn't see paying the extra money. I haven't ever had sugar waxing. I do get my Brazilian every 6 weeks though. Nothing to be afraid of. Don't get yourself worked up about it and you'll be fine.

Punta Cana in April/May?
MilitaryMrs.s-to be replied to jerzshortstuff's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
I go every April and got married there 4 weeks ago. Could never ask for better weather. I got some showers before my ceremony and it stopped as I was coming down the aisle. It made for beautiful pictures, the sky was so dramatic I hope you choose Punta Cana and enjoy it as much as I did. Good luck -
I got gel nails too, they stay really shiny. Regular acrylic nails look really matte after a couple of days. Mine stayed super shiny, that was the first time I had gel and they were great. Def get them done at home, I would be pretty worried about the cleanliness of their tools. As a hairstylist I just shut my eyes while getting my hair done at the spa. lol
