  1. Congrats, I am also getting married May 1, 2010, at the Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar in the Riveria Maya. Good Luck Planning!!!!
  2. I vote for "the wetter the better"...good one Josie, This is from my fiance - "Just one look and you'll get wet"
  3. REPOSTING Okay, so we are quite the avid Beer Pong Players and we have many in our group coming down for the wedding who like to play. I was wondering, since they now make inflatable beer pong...if anyone bought this down to the resort and if there were any problems. Perhaps we could do it in the actitivities pool and not near the swim up bar area...or just somewhere...but I was just curious if they allow it and if anyone has done it.
  4. Keep calling...you paid enough money for your flowers... Do you have vendors insurance That will help you as well

We also had so much fun taking the pictures. Save The Date Magnets, Wedding Invitations, Wedding Announcements, Postcards for Weddings, Magnetic Favors There are so many good ideas out there, and this place was good with prices (plus I found a 10% off on-line). They really provide enough water, I would save your money and use it towards something else in the OOT bag. Just my thoughts =)

  9. I like B but again as everyone is saying, it's up to YOU!!! I always though I would be in a halter and I tried them on and they were just too much for me. I didn't have the chest to hold it up =( so now I am strapless and I love love love my dress. Good luck!!!
  10. Jingles We did the luggage tags for our engagement party favors...they were definitely a hit...so that's good news. My sister knew our favors so she bought us two luggage tags, one pink and one black. "Mr. Right and Mrs. Always Right" It was perfect!!! Planning is going well...we are probably booking Claudia Rodriguez next week, we are just waiting on the contract. Welcome new brides!!!!

I wanted to pass a website on to you girls cause it was the cheapest place I could find luggage tag sleeves and the rubbery strap thingy. I am making my own luggage tags. (printing them on business cards and slipping them into the sleeves) ClearBags - Promote, Protect and Preserve I hope this helps others. I am going to be sticking 2 luggage tags in each envelope with the invitation. I filled out the resort address and left a place for them to write their names. How is everyone else doing? 13. Orchids are usually uber expensive. They do look like a combination of both Mokara Orchid and plumerias I'll keep looking for artifical though
  14. Attached are my STD's, it was my fiance's idea and EVERYONE loved them. (make sure to zoom at 100% or else our faces will be really big) =) We had a blast doing the pictures too =) Mandee, I am doing bags per room, not per person. (too expensive) Still in the works but we are doing: Rafts Advil Lip Balm T-shirts that say (Team Finley or Team Chierchie) Map of the Resort And a homemade English-Spanish useful phrases booklet For the chapel, we will have fans with the program on it =) And are thinking about starfish wine stoppers for the favor. 18. Welcome Sandy...those glasses are great. You sound like a great mom to help out like this. I have some prices of photographers in the area. Hope this helps or at least you can add on your own for budget purposes... Wedding Photographers.xls
  19. Amy, I was thinking the same thing. Unfortunately, the pictures are the memories that NEVER fade and having good picture are really important to us, that’s why we decided on Claudia Rodriguez. She’s pricey but worth it. Cancun Photography is a lot cheaper; you may want to look into them. My friend is a photographer and he looked at the packages the hotel sent over, and they bang you for every picture over your allotted amount. Here is the website with samples, but I have seen other samples and they weren't good...they looked like your average photo. www.fotocaribbean.com.mx I have the prices too for all three if you need them to compare. Here is an excel sheet I put together... Wedding Photographers.xls

We are going down there at the end of this month and I'm anxious to meet with Reyna. What did you think of her in person. She seems very nice over email and has actually gotten back to me pretty quickly, compared to what other brides have said. Any advice for what to bring to the meeting? I really want to make the most of meeting with her in person. Also, when you were at the Del Mar were you able to eat an an ala carte each night? I feel like I haven't gotten an accurate answer on how that works. Look forward to planning with all of you =) Leah Leah, I was at the resort in June and was upgraded to the Lindo because of the Del Mar being closed. Here is my understanding of the reservations: At the Lindo/Maya you have access to make reservations EVERY night upon availability. At the Del Mar/Beach it depends on the length of time you stay BUT you can wait-list everyday if you like. We stayed 4 nights, made 1 reservation and wait-listed 2 other nights and did the buffet once when I stayed at the Tucan a year ago. This past trip was my 6th trip to an Iberostar and my second to the Paraiso Complex. The Del Mar/Beach operate the same as the Tucan in terms of dinner reservations. If that was just mumbo jumbo and completely unclear...let me know I am will try again =)

I just finished my STD's and I was GOING to get 'special' stamps.....but since they are practically $1.00 apiece...I will be getting regular old stamps. I can't spend money on stuff that will end up in the trash. I may be going to look at dresses tomorrow so I'm very excited..... Dress shopping is so much fun...how did you do I agree about the stamps, people throw the envelope out anways...so save the money and put it towards the invitations... What kind of STD's did you do?

  23. Wow, that's crazy about the Tropical now becoming the Italian. Does that mean the $800 private reception is inside or same location, different menu Welcome to the new brides, I saw a few on here in the last few posts. Christy, have a GREAT time, the clock is ticking... BTW...I ordered my dress, I am so excited I can't stop looking at it. YEAH!!!! Dress Pictures.pdf
