  1. very nice...I really like it. It's modern with the destination theme...two thumbs up =)
  2. So after asking around...we are leaning towards November and if we can't get them done, then we'll send them after the new year inthe first week in January. UGH!!! this is frustrating...especially since my sister is the TA and trying to get a handle on this....
  3. Has anyone ever doen the mini- tequillla bottles? My fiance suggested that, but I said not everyone drinks and not everyone drinks tequilla. I suggested alternating with hot suace bottles on the tables. I would assume to bring down the labels and whatnot and buy those items down there, rather than ship or worry about packing and weight restrictions...

  5. How orinigal...ornaments. I don't know if you have visited Cancun/Riveria Maya, but EVERYWHERE and every shop had these ornaments with dangling legs. I have bought so many on multiple trips...their really cute...perhaps we'll do that.... Thanks,
  6. Anyone have any more information about the Tropical rest. vs. the Italian. Somewhere someone mentionted the Italian can be rented privately for the $800 fee (can we bring in the DJ) additionally what the menu like (for pre-set party)? Thanks, Shannon Finley

Because we are getting married close to the holidays, we wanted to give people as much heads up as possible so they could plan their holiday travel schedule. We sent out our invitations the end of July and have gotten about 25% of the RSVPs back already. So far, there haven't been any surprises one way or the other. We put our deadline for the end of September. This doesn't give us much time for OOT bags, etc. BUT we pretty much already know who's coming, and this gives people who on the fence as much time as possible to make a decision - we know a DW is a commitment to attend. It didn't matter to our TA when our deadline was, although our low priced rooms expired before we even sent out the invites. However, all of this info was on our wedding website, sent out with our STDs. And guests are still getting good rates who are booking now. So I would think about how much time you need, and what will give your guests time to decide. You're getting married on my birthday...it's a good day =)

We are invited 155 and expecting 60-75, but my family thinks more... (I don't) We did the save the dates and our final payment is due 60 days prior so Feb. 26 is the dealine...so I thought that Jan would be too late for the invites...but it's so weird to word that....because people can still book in March but they have to pay all upfront.... UGH!!!
  11. Just another opinion… Kudos to all of you ladies who will make the Charity donations or who don't want gifts. We are the other hand are welcome to the gifts/money… I have talked till I was blue in the face about this topic with my friends and family. Consensus from them is, don’t write that on the invitations. If people want to give you a gift they may feel it’s impolite to state that for everyone to see 'to not give a gift'. After all it is still a wedding, your wedding. I am asking for people is to come on Saturday night for the wedding. The rest of the time is on them, it’s their vacation, no mandatory events. Just as you would go to a wedding and give a gift, it’s accepted to give a gift at a destination wedding. People are coming because they want to share this time with you, people also don’t want to be told to give a gift or not. JMO! I was very adamant about not receiving gifts and my bridal party and immediate family, was offended. I was confused at first until I heard their opinions. All in all, I have been to theirs and given $300 and up. So now they go on a mini-vacation, see a loved one most important day of their lives (that's me) and give maybe $100 instead. I can honestly tell you that I am DEFINITELY not expecting gifts...but I DEFINITELY won't turn them away.

  13. Erika, I am wearing a traditional dress. Moonlight Bridal - Product Details It's really personal preference. I will not be having an AHR and only doing this once...I still want to 'feel' and 'look' like a bride. Good luck!!!

  15. Definitely helps...that's what I thought about January as well!!! I sent the STD's in May as well but have only about 170 hits on the website (probably 70-100 from my finace and myself) =) We have heard from a lot of people who are excited about it, but we sent 145 STDs and only 16 booked right now. I won't be doing different invites...but should I stick with a traditional invite with RSVPs? and a card with the TA's (my sister BTW) information??
  16. Mine is $150 a person as well. Keep in mind if it's 10 rooms booked or 10 people. Mine is 10 rooms in order to get the group rates. We went after my family, his family, a bridesmaid and definites for our initial 10 rooms booked. But because we got that, they locked in the rate for everyone else’s cheaper rates. I would stress to your family/friends if you don't get your 10 the prices will go up!!!!
  17. Hi all...just looking for some advise on the best time to send the invitations. Traditional at home weddings are 2 months prior to wedding. BUT we all want to encourage people to start booking for our destination wedding. We are getting married May 1st, and leaving the 26th of April. We would like to get a good handle on whos coming for OOT bags, table arrangments, favors and all of that good stuff...is Januay ok to send the invitations And do you ask for an RVSP and how does that work with the TA Thanks =)
  18. Everyone is right...same time (best in a.m.) everyday or once a week...depending on how you are. Personally, it's all about how my clothes fit. I don't eat the same thing everyday and I eat what I want. But if my clothes start to fit differently (tighter/looser) I can contribute that to my diet or workouts. If you are trying to lose weight, please please please understand that 85% of weight loss is DIET and not exercise. Everything in moderation!!!!
  19. I think that pinks, purples and yellows are really nice together. http://photo.live.advance.net/modbri...mbm0603_02.jpg or perhaps a lot of green http://photo.live.advance.net/modbri...02flowers5.jpg
  20. In my honest opinion, I am a girl who wants the same dress and the same color. HOWEVER, I pulled up these dresses side by side and they look really pretty together. I think it's nice to have the MOH stand out (as she should). Perhaps ribbons around the bouquets are a nice touch to add all of the colors or bridal party is wearing. If it’s just the two of them I think it will look really pretty.
  21. My favorites from weddings I have been to are coasters, wine stoppers and wine charms.
  22. I just booked Caludia and I am so excited after seeing your slideshow, thanks for sharing. How was she to work with?
