  1. Okay, so the photo shoot was great, thanks for the tips. We had a BLAST!!! People in Central Park thought we were famous and starting taking pictures of us. HaHa...it's was hysterical. Here's a teaser of one of my favs (based on Trisha's blog) The tunnel pic.
  2. That's great that he wants to meet you. It's nice to have a little intro before people are providing a service, escpecially one like this =) I will definitely keep you posted on DJ Bob, if he gets back to me. I'll give him a few more days =) Everyone said, he's good about responding, but so far it's been a little wait :-/
  3. Tiffany and Kathryn great job!!! Kathryn, I would see what the printed version is like. If it's on cream paper it may be better than white. It will pop more with a contrast. =) If it's just for the siggy, you could probably make the blue a little darker turquoise.
  4. This is will be our first DIY for the wedding. We made our own centerpieces for the engagement party, but this is more important =) Any wording that's bad or suggestions

But your TA should be able to advise you on that. If you want to play around with the time frame and cost you can check out applevacations.com and gogotravel.com Those are two vendors we use.
  6. Congrats to Mrs. Goulet and Kiera. You both look beautiful. Can't wait for more pictures =)
  7. Okay, so we really liked the idea of petal fan wedding programs rather than the palm fans AND wedding program. We are going with cream cardstock, tiffany blue starfish logo and chocolate brown lettering. This is just the template for them, we are still working on fine tuning. But I thought I would share in the event some brides were looking. programs _2 (template).doc

I have no idea when to send out formal invites...I was thinking of having an RSVP date two months in advance of the wedding so I was thinking the first week of May. I just do not know when I should send out actual invites. I was thinking of sending out actual invites in March...does that sound right? Also....I know that many people that I will have sent STD's to will not be attending our wedding. I really would love to do really nice invites for those attending....but what about those that I know for sure can't come? I read above where one bride is sending a different type of invite to these folks. I kind of like that idea. Any thoughts? I think for a DW people were looking to send formal invites out around 3 months before, rather than traditional 6-8 weeks for AHWedding. All of our guests are getting the same invitations and we are struggling with this decision. I want them classy but not too expensive. We aren't doing an AHR so this is it!!! =) I also asked for a few samples and the quality wasn't good at all. We will visit some local places this weekend. Our engagement shoot is tomorrow in Central Park, so one thing at a time =) But we are looking to send out our formal invites the first week in January, for a May 1st wedding, leaving April 26th. We have 31 booked already and that just the STDs and word of mouth. We are inviting 150, but thinking 65-70. Hope that helps =)
  9. Dinner at the gourmet at the Del Mar was great too! Our favorite rest. are the Lindo was the Cajun! YUMMY!!!! The JApanesse at the Del Mar is our favorite overall. That's our rehearsal dinner spot. We'll take up two tables =)
  10. Christina thanks. The smoke and extras aren't really our thing. And MC’ing in English is on the top of our list. It might be DJ Bob, but again he was $600. I wonder why it's different. ;-/ I wrote him back regarding special requests, like specifically playing the songs we request and not randomness. Also I have a friend who will be playing the guitar (Jack Johnson - Better Together) for our first dance and I needed to know if he could hook up to his speakers =) I will keep you posted! Good Luck
  11. Trisha, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. Your engagement story is BEAUTIFUL and I just love your pictures. The rock pictures, the tunnel and the wall where you two are leaning are amazing. I truly mean it, THANK YOU!!! This is just what I needed.
  12. Thanks, I am definitley going shopping for a dress then this week. Hopefully something brown as that's a good color for my hair and then perhaps bring jeans and a sweater. We'll be in the park, so I will ask the photographer about the outift change. Thanks so much ... Anyone have picture ideas? Examples
  13. Here are ones I like for centerpieces this are very different And potential bouqets
  14. But what kind of dress? Wrap dress, sweater dress? i am so lost.... ;-/
  15. I like the idea of putting it on the website. Or what about on the response card or information card. Something like "reception immediately to follow" "beach chic attire "
  16. I hear ya, it's an all inclusive and you still have to pay for cocktail hour and 'dinner'. But we are doing the private reception, to still have the feel of a traditional wedding. Plus we aren't doing an AHR.
  17. ptatiana, welcome to the forum. And congrats on your engagement. The Iberostar's are above and beyond...they are great resorts. Good Luck!
  18. I have booked with Jen Rozenbaum Beautiful and Affordable Photography She is great, so sweet, reasonable prices and in Queens. We are booked for Feb. 1, a friend and I are doing them the same say and getting our makeup done by her referral who did my SIL's makeup for her wedding and is also AMAZING!
  19. Hey ladies, Our engagement shoot is this Saturday in Central Park, NYC. He proposed last thanksgiving at the parade so we though it was appropriate to do the city. I have NO IDEA what to wear. I have read neutral colors, no patters. It's November, so I was thinking a sweater dress. But then someone said jeans/blazer and heels. Second issue...picture ideas...what were your favs? Close ups, background shots. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM!!!! Thanks a bunch, Shannon
  20. Great pictures you looks beautiful. Mine are this Saturday in Central Park and I still have no idea what to wear ;-/
  21. Good Luck November Brides...this is so exciting! I can't wait for all the reviews....Best of Luck during the most exciting times of your lives!!!
  22. Are all of your groomsmen in suits. I think FI will be in the suit and maybe the dads, but the groomsmen will be in the pants (khaki) and shirts (white), preferably all linen. Does this site, just do pants and shirts? Also, what kind of shirt are they wearing under the suit?

Also you never know, people may say no and then try and figure something out. And then of course you have the people who say yes in the beginning and when it comes time to book...something comes up and they don't go. Is that a waste of paper and money? Just looking at the other side. In my opinion, even if you have a Great Aunt in another state who you know isn't coming, it's just the polite thing to do. And who knows, you might get a gift out of it because they feel bad that they aren't coming...
  24. On top of the receipts, don't forget about the 50 lbs weight limit on each bag. We brought light weight collapsible bags for the way down, and then they just fold up and get packed for the trip home. Immediate family members already know, they are taking a bag of ours =) Gotta love family.
  25. I am glad that worked for you. I am hoping that after the holiday buzz...people will be ready =)
