Feeling Blue - Way too close for this!
finleys7 replied to Loveisintheair's topic in Just venting or funnies
I am so sorry you have hit this bump in the road. Each and every situation is different and needs to be handled with care. It may sound silly, but do a pros and cons list...you may surprise yourself. Do what makes you happy and what will make you happy, a marriage is something special filled with love, commitment and most of all trust. I wish you the best and hope you can resolve your concerns. -
What is your gift to your groom?

I am doing a BD shoot, but before I decided on that I was going to get him a new camera and classes. He started to get into photography and I thought a nice camera would be GREAT! But then I saw the BD ideas and was a little selfish and wanted to do it for myself too!! I think I need the boost before the wedding. And the shoot was cheaper than the $700 camera =) My girlfriend did a Movado watch (with an inscription) Another friend did a boy's trip (him and his brother) to Baltimore for a Yankees game -

Here are 10 tips I found, because I think we ALL think about these things. Ten Tips on How to Feel Relaxed & Sexy when being Photographed 1. Focus on Having Fun Make your goal to have fun, not to get great shots - that’s my job Everyone looks their best when they’re genuinely having a great time. 2. Visualize I know this is very Tony Robbins of me, but he’s not the only one who recognizes the power of visualization. Make it a practice to see the experience of having a great time, feeling sexy, everything going smoothly, seeing the photos and loving them. Be specific and visualize from your point of view, as if you’re in it. 3. Get Inspired Look at movies and art for inspiration, tear pages out of magazines and begin to recognize your style and sensibility… what is sexy to you? This will help you communicate with your photographer and help guide the shoot. 4. Show Up With All You’ve Got When I say show up, I don’t mean to just show up. Bring it. And be open. Karen deserves all the credit for the success of her shoot, because she showed up, really stretched way outside her comfort zone and gave it all she had. 5. Be Sensual Use your five senses during the shoot: play music, have a bite of chocolate, a sip of wine, put on a favorite scent, wear a kick-ass outfit you feel great in, and think of memories that make you blush, smile, and sweat… Do everything and (well, almost) anything that gets you hot. 6. Be Silly Any shyness tends to go right out the window after the first few minutes or so of being silly. I am the biggest ham during a shoot, and I embarrass myself frequently (not always on purpose), but this serves me well as it usually puts everyone at ease. Just goof off and have fun! See how outrageous and silly you can be - it’s easier for the photographer to tone you down, rather than fire you up! 7. Create Movement I often hear but I don’t know how to pose. Well that’s good, let’s not do that! Create a little action, however, so there’s energy in every shot. C’mon you all know how to flirt! If you’re on a shoot with me, I can show you some sexy moves (hey hey). 8. Remember the Context The sheer fact that you’re in front of the camera being photographed is damn sexy… it’s powerful and vulnerable at the same time, which is an unbeatable combo - enjoy it! 9. Fake It I’m not telling you to fake the real deal, but if you don’t feel 100% confident and sexy while on a photo shoot, FAKE it. Works every time. 10. Be Yourself Honor who you are, in this moment. Don’t wait to lose a few pounds. (Besides, I’m a pro at retouching, and Photoshop is the best personal trainer in the world - more on that in another post!) But it’s important that you FEEL sexy, so if working out for a few weeks is going to do that, then great. But let’s not wait for all the planets to be aligned and your bangs to be the right length. The time is now. You are sexy and beautiful just as you are.

Congrats and Welcome. Lots of information on both resorts, have fun planning!

Karen, I like yours too!!! The shimmer on them is great. We mailed them (no box) it went 1st class mail (no parcel) and was $.81...not too bad. You have the best of both worlds...sand dollar and starfish =) Do yours fit in the envelope? We needed a good sealer...but they stayed and I only heard of 1 breaking out of 97. So far so good.

*Nadine*'s Dreams Huatulco Review - 12/29/09
finleys7 replied to *Nadine*'s topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
Congrats and your big day! You look stunning. The resort, flowers and surprise cake looked great. Can't wait to see the professional pics. The onlookers is great...people are so nosy. We opted for the chapel cause the FI was a little nervous about that aspect. Great review, a bride getting married at your resort is lucky to have an amazing post! -

Hello all, I wanted to share with you my experience with the girl who did our invitations. She did such an amazing job in less then a month. I provided wording and information, a few ideas, and our colors and she came up with AN AMAZING invitation that represents me and my fiance and completely set the tone for the wedding. The price was good and completely worth it. We had 100 made and have received so many compliments, even from some husbands. I can't begin to explain how EXCITED I am about these. They are beautiful. Her name is Lauren and her website is pages from a notebook Let me know if you need anymore information.

Okay, so I uploaded the picture of the invitiations. We have gotten a lot of compliments, our close family friend made them and she did a phenominal job. I have to get her on the bridal referral page =)

I would ask the WC about the bag situation, sometimes the front desk charges a fee to distribute. But I haven’t covered this yet, may just do a daily drop off at the front desk. =) I should email about that =) We are doing fan programs so it kills two birds with one stone. A fan and The Program =) They will be DYI from cardstock and pack VERY easy and light =)

Chrissy, you got a lot done, good job. I don't want to order until we know for sure how many people, RVSP is Feb 28th and we got a few, but nothing substantial. A friend of mine still hasn't gotten hers and the address was correct...I'm worried others have the same thing....

Okay, so we are changing it, because our friend who was playing the guitar might not be coming anymore because his new girlfriend is a teacher and she can't take the time...another story for another time =) We are now using "You and Me" by Dave Matthews Band

They are very nice, the Maggie is quite popular on this site. Definitely need to try them on though, things fit me very differently than I suspected. =) Good luck!!! -
wondering about gifts for parents (etiquette)

I am thinking about those Pandora bracelets with a charm for our wedding for the moms. The dads we are still thinking, I know my dad I can do a personalized gold towel, hanky and photo. But his dad, we are still deciding. =)
