  1. So we hopefully will be ordering the tote bags soon. The discountmugs.com site is GREAT for this stuff. I think we need around 50, so the price was good, it just kills me to pay $50 for the screen UGH! I also starting thinking about table seating arrangments...this can get difficult. Anywho...how is everyone else doing?
  2. Okay...so the dress is in. I have my first appointment Thursday March 4th...Woo Hoo. Very excited =)
  3. Correct me if I am wrong...it happens a lot...I think that the fact that she booked after knowing one important factor to you and the FI was THAT no one had been there before. There hundreds of resorts to go to, why did she have to choose this one, after you booked it for your wedding. It's not an Aunt, friend or another wedding...it's your future mother in law. Again, I don’t know the facts and if it was booked after or before..but I would be slightly annoyed. I also think that EVERYONE has a different relationship with their FMIL or MIL and that can sway someone's opinion of this. On the bright side, she may have some awesome advice...and like I said, keep looking for those deals, site visits are great experience if you can do it! Overall, it’s your day, you are paying for it and it will and should be the wedding of your dreams. Like some other girls have said on this forum about MOGs and MOBs, just give them a designated To Do List. =)
  4. Emmers - I am still laughing over here. I think we are all done...maybe 1 or 2 more couples...but total 69 people at 37 rooms. Last day for RSVP is Feb. 28th Leah - BD stands for Boudoir Shoot, it's a lingerie-esque type of photo shoot. Check out my photographers site at Beautiful and Affordable Photography I loved the shoot, it was so much fun and I can't wait to give this to FI on our wedding day as my gift =)
  5. Oh boy...In Laws!!! I know you said that money was tight, but for the past 3 years GoGo Travel runs a special in March for Mexico, I know because I have done it. Last June the FI went on our site visit for under $650 each for 4 nights!!!! That’s with Air!!!! My mom and sister had been there before me and I heard "Oh This and Oh That" (which I'm sure is what you are trying to avoid with your FMIL) but if you can get down there for cheap BEFORE or AFTER them you can have your own opinion and just nod your head when she talks about it. Who knows she may be on the SAME page as you and agree 100% with what you already want to do. That’s what happened with my mom and sister. It actually turned out to be a big help. But I am sure my FI felt like you that the 'In-Laws' have been there. He got over it quick, once we got down there and is was AWESOME!
  6. Just keeping our thread alive girlies...hope all is well. It's crunch time for me. 2 months and 1 week until we leave. UGH!!! Sooo much to do still =)
  7. Got the email confirmation that it has been shipped...just a few days away and I will post pics, hopefully with good news =)
  8. mmshaughness - I think you should definitely try and find someone in the area. It was so great and empowering. She made me fill beautiful and was so easy to work with. I wish you lived closer because I would tell you to book Jen right away!!! Sometimes a friend/co-worker can be uncomfortable in these cases. Does the photographer you used have BD experience?
  9. Karen, you will love Jen, she's GREAT! I can't wait to hear your review and see teasers. She's so easy to work with and guides you right along. The biggest advice is confidence. Walk in there, like you own it and your pics will be Maxium worthy ;-)
  10. Karen - thanks for the compliments. It's all Jen though...she's AMAZING and so easy to work with. ABSOLUTELY get your makeup done. I had Oksana and below is a close up...she is AWESOME!!!!! I couldn't agree more about this being empowering....it felt so awesome to get done and it was soooo worth the money.
  11. That does make sense...thanks. Besides the coffee table book is meant for the 'coffee table' and these ARE NOT for display =)
  12. Okay girls, as promised here are some teasers.... Katie, I did the veil also for the white outfit and it was too cute.
  13. DWbridetobe - Thanks =) If you want her contact info, let me know...she's GREAT to work with.
  14. Ladies----I got my proofs back from my BD shoot. I am so excited I want to show him...but I have to wait for 2 1/2 months. UGH!!!! Here is a teaser:
  15. Emmers, I like the shirt for the guys. We are doing the studio suits for the pants and shirts for the groomsmen and suits for FI and the Dads. We ordered two Sundays ago and got an email it's in production =) I will try and post pictures when his suit comes in.
  16. Amy, anything from Oriental trading? Sound like you are getting so much done...good job =)
  17. Kitten Heart - Awesome invites, they look great! It's been a while since I have been on...pretty busy around here. The FI and I moved in together this weekend. After 8 years we are finally in =) It was a lot of stuff and the snow didn't help...but it's all good now =) I got my BD proofs back and I am uber excited. I can't wait to put them together. Not sure if I want to do the coffee table style or just an album =) Any thoughts? here is a teaser ...
  18. Diana - Great job...they look great..lots of work and details =)

We are doing this song, because it's beautiful and perfect for us and because we used to listen to Paul Simon. The Graceland 'tape' used to be on repeat in the car when we did road trips. =) I heart this song!!!
  20. I don't know if this helps but I had made a template for petal fans that will be done in cardstock. Heavy cardstock that will work as the fan. Here is the thread http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...emplate-51640/
  21. Holly - 1. Did you have a private dinner or were you stuck in with other guests at the a la carte restaurants? It depends on how many people you are having. We are having 65-70 so we rented the private reception. Plus we wanted the traditional feel of the wedding since we aren't having an AHR 2. Did you have a private reception or were you stuck in the "disco" with all the other guests? (see a pattern here :-) ) see above 3. Were there a TON of people sitting there in their bikinis watching you say "I do"? We are doing the Chapel, because of the tons of people. It didn't feel private enough for us (we went down for a site visit last June)
  22. If you go with the pink I think it should be a little thicker, because you can see the seem on the dress but can't with the white ribbon. That's why I voted white.
  23. Emmers - we are using Claudia Rodriguez for photography and her husband for video. They have great reviews and have been soooo easy to work with. Leah - Good luck with the invites, I look forward to seeing them =)
  24. LaLa, I sent the invitations on Jan 6th with an RSVP date of Feb. 28th. So far about half have responded. A few were suprises, but for the most part we knew the answers. Some people who have booked haven't RSVP'd. =( I need to know the dinner options, which was another reason for the RSVPs. They have 3 more weeks, so hopefully we hear more..but we needed to do it early for ordering the OOT bags, table setting, programs and all that good stuff we need to print and prepare for. So all in all, we sent them 4 months before the wedding and so far so good.
