Hi Mesita! Im so sorry to hear the rebookings arent happening..thats really unfortunate. But you know what--this is about you and your FI..your parents will be there..and thats all that matters. If it makes you feel any better...my parents havent booked and I still dont know if they are coming for sure...but all I keep saying to myself is..its ok...its not going to change the outcome if no one else attends...you will still be married to the man you love! But I do understand being hurt. Just dont lose focus... I too am considering my own photographer...I was NOT impressed with what I saw with the resort photographer...I havent booked yet, but I think Im going with Vanessa Vargas..I think shes great and extremely affordable..flexable with her packages...shes been nothing but professional and very responsive. im not doing the video unless the resort will allow both Vanessa and their videographer to work together.

Im sorry ladies! Ive been all over the boards here and I still havent figured out the best way to navigate. So much information and great ideas! REEVES! ELIZABETH!!! I grew up in Newark, lived in Linden for years, work in Westfield, and now live in Irvington! lol! Unbelievable. Rachel--Welcome and Congratulations! I used weddingdestinations.com...I dont have any real complaints...but I read somewhere on here, that there is a thread somewhere about them and that others have not had good experiences with them. Again, I dont have any complaints. I think Im easy to please though.

Has anyone used Vanessa Vargas photography? I saw her website and fell in love with her pictures..shes extremely reasonable..but when I saw somewhere around here, a beachwedding she shot, the pictures dont quite look the same..can anyone tell me their experience with her?

You know, I should just listen to my gut sometimes.lol. I also thought 3 months before the wedding was way to late..this is exactly why I thought I would check with the boards to see what the norm is.. Thank you all for your help! I will be getting them out next month as I originally planned.

Hey Everyone... Im a little confused about invitations and STD and I was hoping I can get clarification here. Im getting married December 5th..I am sending out the save the dates this week..however, I am not clear on when to send the formal invitation. Am I to assume that by the time people recieve the invitation, all travel arrangements would've already been made (based on the STD)? If thats the case...then do I just mail out the invitations within 3 months of the wedding date? If I am NOT to assume that arrangements have been made..whats the reasonable time frame to send out invitiations? Im so confused! TIA for your help!

I'm getting married December 5th..and I have NOTHING done..just ideas..lol--Which will get me no where if I dont get on the ball. lol I see you're getting married in just a few short weeks! Congratulations..are you all set? I would love to see your pics! Did you hire a photographer or will you be using the resorts photographer?

Hi ladies, I just joined the site, so Im still trying to figure everything out (like trying to download my pic..though for some reason its not working) lol. I am getting married December 5th at the Excellence Playa Mujeres. And I JUST STARTED gathering ideas..you know, Ive come to realize event planning is just not my thing! lol. Thank God I have my sister and her BF helping me out. Save the dates are in the mail this week. Invitations hopefully will be ordered next week. Dress shopping is scheduled for the 1st week in July Photographer--Im still on the fence about this one. I have an email out to the resort photographer to get more of his profile...but I have quotes already for 2 other ones. Favors will be purchased when I get to Mexico..tequila bottles Currently working on a monogram for the favor tags and I still havent decided if I need or want to do centerpieces or just purchase them them from the resort. So as you can see..I have a LOOONG way to go! lol Anyway good luck and thanks for starting the thread!

My name is Yolie, (short for Yolanda but Jewels is the nickname) my fiancee is Jorge and we live in New Jersey. We've known each other since we were 5 years old (as he was my PIA nieghbor from across the street-lol) However now, he's the man behind my smile. We've been together a little over 3 years, and got engaged this past christmas. We're getting married December 5th, 2009 at the Excellene Resort Playa Mujeres in Mexico.
