Ah...I know it will go fast, but not fast enough! We went to the states last night and I bought an amazing honeymoon dress -- it's soo cute. Also picked my FI up some white linen pants, we will look very honeymoon-ie! What are the other options for dinner? Chicken/pasta and beef medalions? Are there any other options -- Tracy, I think it was you who was thinking about the french onion soup, did you end up getting it? I am pretty well ready to go, I've been doing iron on rhinestones for bathing suit bottoms/tank tops, and my dress is now 100% finished...Our mugs/bags for favors are in (I'm drinking coffee from one right now lol). I am debating moving the ceremony up from 5:00 to 5:30ish, Carolina said that's fine - but subject to change --- did any of your times change? I'm not too worried about it, but I'd like it a little later so we can go straight to dinner. FI is at a conference at a hospital in Toronto and I decided to come, but I forgot about the time I'd be sitting around in between. I'm in a cafe dying for more coffee lol. WHat's a honeymoon dress??!?! Lingerer? The other choice was rib eye steak, I am sure there was 1 more choice but I can't remember, so sorry!!! For the starters there was salad ceaser, onion soup, and some pasta thing. I choice the salad for everyone but since I'm un able to eat salad Carolina made an exception for me and gave me onion soup (best soup I've ever had, also the only thing I ate that entire day!!) I should have seen if I coud have gotten 2 soups since my dad doesn't eat salad.. I feel bad about that!! Ohhhh lets see pics of your favor's and your dress!!!!!! post girl post!!!!! Excited to see it!! Carolina had given me 2:30 even tho i wanted more of an evening ceremony. SHe said she gave me the time the judge is free. SO I went with it and got use to the time. But when i got there she wasn't able to confirm 2:30... she even called the judge in front of us, she said it might be either 2:30 or 6. Then she ask me which I had prefer, I said 6 and that she'd let me know Monday morning. I got a call and it was at 6pm!! Perfect since it rained at 2:30 anyway. But we lost light quick for the after shots and didn't get a lot of photo's I wanted because of it! Plus our group shot is at th restaurant not on the beach because we lost light to fast if you have a choice I say go for the 5:30pm. Are you having the legal ceremony or the symbolic ceremony? the night before?! Try 2 months I didn't sleep more then 8 hours of crappy sleep.. I know 8 hours seems a lot but with Crohn's disease you need a lot of sleep. So I looked like crap the first week we were there (Including the wedding.. I found the pics of us girls getting ready I looked like crap, tired) plus the entire 3 days we were there I could hardly eat. I didn't even eat on the wedding day (AT ALL!!! probably why I got so drunk lol) DH and I didn't spend the night before the wedding together. All though we got back to our room at 11:30pm and he had to get all of his stuff ready, we only parted ways around 1am. I slept alone in my room but I called him first thing in the morning at his sister's room. Funny cause I didn't sleep long enough some stupid ppl kept calling me from 9am!!!! so yah I was tired and cranky, so I called FI to talk it out, but he said we wouldn't allowed talking (my rules) well I got angry LOL.. so I hung up on him, he called me back 4times, finally his 5th time he sounded so desprate to talk, I let him say what he needed, an he talked me into a better mood. The rest of the day was relaxing and quiet, and rainy lol! I agree lots and lots of consealer!! lol They say a bride should get lots of sleep the night before her wedding, YAH RIGHT who can do that the night before they get married!!!
-
I never heard of it before either until I found one, I had a hard time finding a store that carried my dress (I never did) I found a store who was willing to order it but as bought not to try on..so I had to be sure it was the dress (and it was!!!) OMG 13 days, it's going by fast!!! How long are you staying in Punta Cana for? 1 or 2 weeks? or 10 days? lol
-
DEH, Love the pictures!!! I saw the arch up that day... and I said 'I didn't get that' did you pay extra for it... or you just ask for it? Why didn't I think of that!!! You got a lot of great pictures... totally jealous of some lol!!! Who was your photographer? Ohhh you bought your photographer down with you!! Smart!!! After we got married we were walking on the beach (day after) and i said it would have been a lot better if I would have brought one with me, they would have taken pics of everyhing including the dinner and beach party!! Ah well!!!
-
Sungoddes, What are you paying now for the photographer?! I paid for 3 hours for the ceremony (which I would suggest, I only recommend a half hour before ceremony pics for you ,I got way to many for the hour we had and not enough of the hubby, so I suggest 30 mins for him instead of the full hour for yourself and your girls) then an hour for the ceremony, and hour for after pictures. which would include your first dance, cake cutting.. and if you want to add your father daughter dance and son mother (you may get a few less after ceremony pics) but it's whatever is important to you to get on picture (honestly the day went so fast and I'm so happy to have 300 pictures to remind me of the raw moments we felt that day) With the TTD our total package was $935 and it was worth every single penny!!!! Then maybe it'd be cheaper just to get him for 30 mins (which was plenty enough time) and you can do that a la cart a suppose to the package. I paid him for an hour and we only used 45 mins.. then again we also got a lot of the same pics! I say go for the steak, I went with the chicken and pasta, and I wouldn't recommend it.. it was mixed together as suppose to a chicken breast with pasta on the side (which I thought it was going to be) DEH, the link to the pictures aren't working, post again.., so excited to see them... I'm also wondering if your the one I met in the pool... and we started talking but got in trouble by the instructor to stop talking lol!!!! If so I have tons of pics of us in the pool doing the work outs lol!!! Yes I was very pleasantly surprised that we already got our marriage certificate, especially since she said it'd take 6-8 weeks. We got it a day before our month anniversary LOL!! I'm sure you'll get it in time for your new job (Congrats btw!!! what is the new job) I called the Dominican Consulate and they are going to charge me $40 to translate the certificate into english, that I've got to go to my city hall and they will stamp it or whatever they do to assure it's in their system and all legal. (The certificate is legal here in Canada but I'm sure they still have to do something for our province to be aware of the marriage) BTW!!!! Courtney... how come you spent more money on your hair at the spa then I did put we had the same hair style almost? I thought this would be funny to post. I was on my way to get married as Courtney just got married... One of my fav pic the photgrapher got!!! (Mike loves this one too lol)
-
Love the pic Steph!!!! I didn't get any garden pics lol!! Who did you use as a photographer!!!! Ohh she allowed your dance at the resto!! that's great...we were going to do that but since we had the beach party we had our father/daughter Mother/son dance there. We did our cake cutting at the resto and we had our first dance as a married couple at the gazebo, I'm so happy the photographer followed us back to the resto for the cake cutting pics, and since we were losing light quick we did the group shot at the restaurant as well. We got our marriage certificate in today!!!Feels so much more real (if only I could read it!!! lol) For us in Montreal it's going to cost me $40 to translate it into english (Not to bad!!)

I love the pictures. Jay's daughter is gorgeous!!!!!!! so adorable!!! I can't wait to see more... the photographer did one hell of a great job.. no wonder why it's taking so long to get them lol. You were smart to have your own camera on hand.. I should have done the same, but I guess it wouldn't have matter since I lost my camera on our honeymoon week. I think we are all back now. CONGRATS TO US ALL MARRIED WOMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it's over.. besides everyone who is having an AHR. Can't wait to hear how yours goes on Friday Mel and everyone elses (when is everyone else having theirs?) I finally made my decision about having one, and we decided NOT to go for it!! sorry for the people who couldn't see me in my dress, they'll all be disappointed but they can see pictures!!

Oh wow, those are some huge changes in your life and all months apart!!! You already have a new job lined up? Must be hard working knowing you wont be there long. Ohhh and reno's? Is the house up for sell now? You all must be getting some amazing photo's, because I got mine back before we even left punta Cana. Sooo excited to see them all!!! I tried to look for your review, couldn't find it... mind posting the link?! I seriously have to get on my review!! it's such a good review too. Kind of still in Lazy mode, not having to do a single thing, nothing wedding related anymore. Still trying to find my bounce to go in my steps (if that makes since at all)

If we were going to do it ourselves we would have done it in our yard - very casual. Jenna, I think you have to join shutterfly to see them - I got a membership request from Tracy. The guy I work with is fine today - he's just one of those who acts first and thinks later. I love making the money here - I need to pay off my credit card from the wedding stuff but really, I kind of wish I had the summer off again! That's be nice for your AHR, ooohhh May 22 is just right around the corner (that's how quick it'll be done and over with) At least the guy you work with is over it now. What men doesn't re act first and think later huh!! lol I feel you with wanting another summer off, I was suppose to look for a job when got back for the wedding, but it looks like I'll be going threw surgery and said to hold off on a new job. A little part of me is happy about it, but I guess not under these condition Sometimes I wish we were all kids again just to have summers off!! lol

Welcome back Nat and Jodi !!! Can't wait to hear all about your wedding. Jodi I'm so glad you got to your destination and was able to get married, even better that you guys were able to come back with out a problem I keep hearing they've been closing and re opening the airports all week last week. Michele, Love Love those pics!!!!!!!!!!! so beautiful!!!!! I've decided NOT to do a AHR but my mom keeps bugging me (she'll pay the food and hall) but still, I've had it with planning!!! If she is able to convince me other wise it'll be real casual! I just got in my thank you cards today, so I'm not sure I'll get on my review until tonight when Mike is watch the last game for the Montreal lol!
-
Michele, I'm so sorry your feeling so overwhelmed. I don't blame you. But it will get done as we all know it! Try and enjoy your bike trip should be fun and a nice way to unwind for a bit.. Once your AHR is done (when is it btw?!) you can get back to the gym on a full time bases. It will all work out in the end. The really sucks about your email getting a virus!!! Your probably really stressed to see a little humour in it, But I'm sure down the line you can laugh about it all (especially since the virus sent links for THAT kind of meds you know lol!!!) sucks that someone you of course have to work with is taking it so personal though... he should have known it wasn't YOU!!! Hope it's not too awkward for you now at work! ? We're here to vent to anytime!!! Me too I still have to get my review done! Hopefully tomorrow.

lol too funny, yah got let them have a thing or two. Mike wanted green sand for our sand ceremony, I wanted red.. but we have green lol. I can't wait to see some more pics!!!! Ohh la la your cake sounds so nice. I had picked vanilla. Like Courtney I am NOT a cake person and this cake was sooo yummy. Minus it having it up my nose (thanks to Mike, when he kissed me it just went right up there lol) I also got my nails done, but I always do when I go down south. But this time I went with the gel nails because they said it last for 2 weeks. However I did it Thursday left Saturday and by the following Thursday they started chipping which so happen to be the day before our TTD but it wasn't noticeable. I say do your nails, it's worth it. ANd I suggest doing it back home as suppose down south. Don't know how 'clean' they are (tho I am sure they are but still.. go somewhere you know is real clean)

Did I miss something, whos SeaPriness? I've never seen her on here? Your so right just extra weight for the cake cutting server.. I'm surprised it's something I did get back!! I didn't get candle holders back(but they were $$$$) nor some tea light candles with the batteries. That's about it, I brought the sand ceremony with me when I went to go get changed in my parents room. LOL yah the jugde said his little speach after we were legal, then seriously ran off to the next ceremony that is when the SIL came up and did her speech that I wrote on cue cards for her.. I think I still have it if you want it/need it. Ohh I want to see your cake!! What colour did you pick for the ribbon, if you even got ribbon... here is mine...

But you can pick anymore. Quote: Originally Posted by sungoddess_08 Hi girls -- Did you get your hair done there or do it yourself? Some girls on here payed $130 because they reserved on line. I don't suggest doing that. I think it depends on what you want done, shouldn't be more then $110. I've lost the price list, but it doesn't effect you anyway, they'll charge what they feel when you bring in a pic of the style you want.

Originally I was not going to wear one, because the back of my dress is really detailed and I didn't want to cover it, but now I'm not sure....maybe I should wear one. How did you find them in the wind? And where did you get them? I don't want to spend a lot of money -- I've seen them for like 60-200! Maybe I could try making one? hmm..I've never thought about a veil before lol. No he stayed the entire week, he left the same day we did but hours later!!!! Poor guy though.. no one expects to stay 2 weeks, no one brings enough clothes, or money. I had a veil, My mom bought it for me, It was $150!!!!!!!!!!! I said I didn't want it, but she got it anyway. But I'm glad I had it I liked it. It was very see through so everyone still got to see all the details on my dress in the back. I maybe moved it once duirng our ceremony because of the wind. Took some photo's afterwards with it then took it off for the rest of the night. Carolina had given me flowers for my hair but they had died by then lol ah well!! If you decided to get married on the beach I would gather it'd be more windy so maybe it wouldn't be the best thing to have. But again it's up to you, and what you want,IT'S YOUR DAY!!! you can do whatever you please!!! Quote: Originally Posted by sungoddess_08 also - I see people brought cake cutters and stuff! I wanted to engrave mine, it's why I wanted my own but in the end never even got it engraved so really if it's not important to you, don't bother!! I did bring my own cake toper (they'd supply you with one if you wanted) but I wanted something personally since everyone gets the same cake pretty much... I have no idea how many times I saw the chef drive around with a cake in his hand, and they all looked like the one I picked.

LOL thank god there were no 'nude' photo's on there!!! Thank god!!!!!! It's usualy my luck.. I think it's why I stop taking them LOL!!! Yah it was real stressful, but like you said a drunk story for a life time lol. And hey now I get all new things, that always works! Ohhhh you have 1 month 3 weeks to go!!! It'll fly by!! I wanna go again!!!!!!!!!!

My lost of things story 1 of our guest is from Ireland (his like my brother) he was suppose to leave on Saturday with the rest of the guest, so at that point we would of had 2 guest left who left Sunday (my parents) and would of had 6 days for our honeymoon and to be alone and get to use the Royal side (restaurant and pools, bars..) The Volcano happened, and all UK flights were cancelled on Thursday, 2 days before he was to leave... Saturday they cancelled his flight and transport to the airport but with out telling him. So We spent in hour talking with the rep, and he finally got him a room but on another resort, the Bavaro Princess (3 resorts down from ours) so now we've spent all day and all night in the lobby bar our first day we arrived waiting for everyone, then spent another full day in the lobby bar seeing people off and then dealing with the Ireland guy and his room and transport (a lot of time spent in the Punta Cana Lobby bar!!!, which those 2 days happen to be a lot of sun tooo..how disappointing) SO we paid for his taxi to go to the other resort, he was to check with the rep there and see what was going on. No changes so we said we'd call him in the morning. Sunday I saw my parents off and still no change with his flight, we spent the night alone, but Monday we re met up with him and spent the entire day with him. We went to lunch, then dinner. I needed to get drunk now!!! So we went to a lobby bar (NOT THE PUNTA CANA LOL) and got drunk on slammers (be careful with those!!!!!!) It was 12am now so we decided we'd walk MR drunky back to his resort since it was dark and his first time walking back there (he travelled alone) so now you got 3 drunk people walking the beach trying to find a resort we've never seen before. We finally found his place and dropped him off, started our journey back to our resort (we were on the royal side so it was even further) We decided to stop and take some pics of each other. Kept on walking on the shore line. I even realized at one point my purse was open.. Mike even ask me if I had my camera, I said yes so we kept walking. My friends all had went skinny dippers at one point during our first week, and they'd come back the next day with all these fun story's, so I kind of felt left out, and said so.. but also said I'm a married woman now I shouldn't be doing things like that, especially with friends around. So we're drunk walking and Mike says lets go skinny dipping (we were alone) I kept saying no,until he finally called me a prude!!! (ohh he hit a button!)So we went in, took off my dress and my bridal underwear, put my purse down. Came back out, start putting my dress on when I realize a guard was sitting on a chair a few feet away from us, watching us I hurried up to put my dress on, went down to get my underwear, but realized I no longer had my camera in my purse (no the guard didn't take it, he never moved, I would have saw him from the water) so I went into panic mode, took my phone out, start looking for the camera around our stuff, didn't see it...so we started walking back to Ireland's resort (but we were back at ours already!!!) looking for the camera....then it hit me.. I don't have my underwear on... so now were walking back looking for the camera now my underwear. We finally realized we weren't going to find it, since we were walking on the shore line I'm sure the ocean picked the camera up and took it in. Underwear was white so it was hard to find it.. I'm sure someone did the next morning. I stopped walking and sat down (actually where we had the beach party) I cried and cried.. Mike sitting next to me telling me not to worry it's just a camera, but I had the entire first week worth of pics on there, plus it's a camera my mom bought me. He kept saying we were with 25 guest everyone has almost all the same pictures, I knew he was right but the camera was still lost!!!! he pushed the right button when he said my bday was coming up, what a great excuse for something new (He got me there) so I started feeling a little better (don't forget were drrrruuuunk!!!) So he was holding my shoes (balarina slipper shoes, at this point it's the only shoes I could wear besides the flip flops since my feet were swollen from the heat and high heels) We start walking back to our resort, We hit the path.. when the beach meets the resort path... when Mike realized he was only hold 1 shoe OMG now we start walking all the back to where we had the beach party, but he started running, ran there ran back and no shoe. I said just lets go... We got back to our room at 4am, but we dropped off the Ireland guy at 12am. Now the story is hilarious, but at the time, it was stressful. (Now I'm in search for a new camera, underwear to replace the real nice ones I had and and new shoes!!!!) LOL All we were missing was a camera guy filming our entire 2 week stay after some of the drama, then the losing things LOL still laughing!! *Sorry for the long long story!!*

My mom was also in the 3000 block, and the most important stuff (ceremony kit) I took back myself! and then rest of the stuff, well I got half of everything back lol ah well!! I got my flutes and my cake cutting server so that's what matters. Courtney, I have heard of it, I have a lot of inner ear problems as well. I'm sorry you've got to go through that pain. I can't believe doctor's and nurses these days!! I get those all the time, I was pucking for 15 hours one night (blood) and the nurse said it was all in my head, and wouldn't let me see a doc.. then when I did she already filled his head with lies... so I had to wait for the shift change 8 hours later (25 hours of through up before they gave me something to stop) Sungoddes, So happy the interview went well and it could be something for you for the summer. Got my fingers crossed for you!!!
